Ladies and gentlemen,
I present to you the opportunity to prove your worth as an expert at soccer.
Tournament schedule:
http://www.fifa.com/worldcup/matches/
Competition rules:
1. One point will be awarded for a correct prediction on each match. Merely getting the winning team right will earn you no points.
2. For the knock-out round, there´s a twist. If you predict for a match to finish in the normal 90 minutes time, you´ll get one point. However, if you predict it correctly as to whether the match will go to the Extra Time or Penalties, you´ll get two points!
For the penalties, for example, "Germany 1, Australia 1; Germany to win on Penalties" will be registered as a valid prediction and getting it right will earn you two points, as is suggested above.
3. You can only register your prediction once, and cannot change it afterwards.
4. Obviously, any predictions made once the match has begun won´t stand as valid.
5. Once we´re into the knock-out stages of a tournament, the person leading the table will be absolutely required to register his prediction at least four hours before the match starts. If however he fails to do so, his prediction would only be valid if it doesn´t match anyone who is behind him by one to three points.
6. If two or more members are leading the table, the same would apply but a further condition in their case would be to make sure their prediction doesn´t match his fellow joint-leader.
Enjoy and have fun!
