Barkha Dutt and co did planted shows to show the world everything is so calm in Kashmir right now but BBC came up with other visuals and statements from kashmiris to slap the claims of indian media.

Yes sure looks like Switzerland now. :sachin

I saw another video from today where some occupying of soldiers were being attacked.

Hope the innocent people of Kashmir stay safe.

All valid points by people in the videos. Onus is on the GOI to get them into the fold eventually. However, people need to be practical. There was no way these decisions could be made with all party meetings. People are bone headed on both sides. This ain't a nascent conflict and there's 70 years behind it. The only way to execute it was to be unilateral and then convince later. Let's see

U expect a dump to be Switzerland in 4 days? There are places in Switzerland that don't like Switzerland yet. The people in Kashmir need to accept this and better their lives first.

I want the Hindutvas who were salivating at the prospect of moving there, actually move. It would be lovely to see them get beaten to a pulp

Feeling sorry for the Kashmiris :(

Will be tough for them to see Hindus from all over India owning property in Kashmir and living with them in the coming days.

Slowly and slowly the Islamic Kashmiri Identity of Kashmir will be diluted and it will become a melting pot of all groups

This move of India added fuel and Kashmiris are never going to accept this easily i expect many causalities from both sides (army and civilians) in upcoming weeks and months. This time India will not be able to use Pakistan as a scapegoat let's see how India deal with the "internal situation" even Israel with all the power isn't able to fix the situation in Palestine and Gaza after decades.

I request everyone don't take the posts of rhony seriously. He spreads so much filth here about kashmir. Everything he says is meaningless. He don't have any clue about kashmir but acts like an expert. Thanks

What do you expect that this sort of decision will be handled without any protests from war mongers.Things will be rocky for a while thats why this curfew and all these restrictions are in place to minimize damages both life and property.

Let's see how the supa dupa power india handle it when even Israel after spending decades isn't able to kill the resistance.

Kashmir was part of India before any Muslim ever set foot on it.Stop your hatred and grow up.

We don't give a damn about these hindutva trolls and there is not a single day when i don't thank Jinnah for Pakistan looking at these morons and their animal like behavior.

lol part of India your Akhand Bharat is a myth go back to thousands of years and you will still not find a united India under any leader

Time will tell. Everybody expected people to reject the restrictions and all hell would break lose. Kashmir isn't Palestine. It's Jammu and Kashmir and people in Jammu have been celebrating. People in Ladakh have been celebrating. Nobody expected the valley to celebrate but they haven't come out in droves holding knives and guns too rejecting the curfiew. Once a decision has been made, there is no going back. I'm guessing GOI has been preparing for the consequences and let's see how successful they will be in the long run.

Racist Hindtuva and Bhakths have over 800,000 troops, one occupying soldier for every 10 Kashmiri, they have asked everyone to leave the land.

If the area was peaceful and Hindutva occupying forces were committing crimes against humanity then they would have had their media in kashmir in no time.

Relax Kashmir overseas representative!! I got more coherent points on Kashmir than your unilateral views from afar based on what you see in Twitter that are based on 5th person accounts. Take a chill pill. You don't need to beg others. This is an open forum. People will speak their mind. Others will accept or reject it or sit tight. Unless you got any valid points, there isn't much to discuss with you. You are welcome to debunk my views without abuse. Use that education for once.

Don't cry and go running to UN saying "Pakistan behind this" when you see another Pulvama you can't use this excuse all the time specially not after this move when all our bilateral agreements gone to dustbin and we are back to 1947 like situation with no agreement between both countries related to Kashmir.

Last time, a radicalized extremists nationalists hindu PM sent a plane accros to kill trees so he could win an election.

That does make him war mongers.

You are correct what do you expect from racist war mongers who would have 1 occupying Indian force for every 10 kashmiri.

What is Modi's timeline for recieving Western tourists and setting up Rolex shops? Please bump it up when this happen, this life or the next. Thanks .

I want the Hindutvas who were salivating at the prospect of moving there, actually move. It would be lovely to see them get beaten to a pulp

The place is a dump now - because Abdullah and Mufti families have exploited Kashmiris.

People living cushy lives in Bombay, Bangalore, Himachal, Delhi etc. would not want to move there now. Give it time and Modi will bring in progress and development to Kashmir. Gradually people there will be happy and Indians will co-mingle with their Kashmir brothers and sisters.

Shall happen. Give it time.

What is Modi's timeline for recieving Western tourists and setting up Rolex shops? Please bump it up when this happen, this life or the next. Thanks .

Let Ambani and Adani first buy a few square km first. That would be a start. All the Kashmiris will lineup for jobs at those theme parks and ski resorts in no time.

I request you guys from Pakistan check out
#standwithkashmir you will get a true news from there as that is started by kashmiris.
And plz pray I reach home safely as tomorrow I am leaving for srinagar and then real journey starts from there as I have to walk by foot 60 kms to reach home where I am sure I will be harassed, beaten at many places and I have show my identity to these goons who have occupied every corner of my Kashmir. Will see you In Sha Allah once the situation improves and India has the guts to lift blockade there. Plz do pray as the news coming from home is very disturbing. At last for Indian brothers I want to say don't celebrate too soon. Allah Hafiz everyone Stay blessed

lol part of India your Akhand Bharat is a myth go back to thousands of years and you will still not find a united India under any leader

Thats why Pakistan never could sustain democracy since 1947 where as India has grown leaps and bounds as a democracy.

Pakistan is ruled by Miltary and you are talking about unified leader.

Kashmir was part of India before any Muslim ever set foot on it.Stop your hatred and grow up.

Yes as was Pakistan and Bangladesh.
So? (Rhetorical)

Yesterday all the Indian extremists were celebrating and gloating here... they doing that today too and maybe tomorrow... but soon enough the situation will change and they’ll either change their tone or disappear from PP until something else pops up.

Mark these words

Way way before Pakistani Kashmir ever gets to that standard of living. Infact, Pakistan Occupied Kashmir shall also get there, once Modi liberates/integrates POK with Mother India.

Still waiting on this offensive.

Sounds like some mithai shop in Southall.

Come on Modis government is so convinced this will make IOK into paradise on earth so surely must have some sort of timeline in mind? 1 year? 2 years? 10 years? Please do say.

Businesses, real estate tycoons will go first. Then ex army, RSS and sardars will be next. It will be organic and practical execution. There's no hurry. There is no dead line.

LOL.

Pakistan has democracy, last PM was elected by the people of Pakistan.

Did you learn that lie in India? of course, you did, you gullible

It's been a dump after 70 years of Azadi beat and would have remained a dump after 70 more years. Now because of this, check back after two decades. India is projected to be a 12+ trillion economy by 2040. Kashmir will grow too.

Pakistan and than Bangaldesh both are made out of your so called akhand bharat come and take Pakistan if you got the balls because its part of your fking akhand bharat why not claim it?

Wow that 12 trillion dollar economy should go some way towards installing toilets then.

Thanks for sharing bro i am already following many accounts from Kashmir will follow this hashtag for better news. Have a safe journey brother see you soon inshALLAH

He'll come up with something like, 'nah, we were only every interested in IOK It was just a few non officials wanting to take of Pak'.

Pick and select is the strategy with these saffron warriors.

The running after UN was a trick for Modi to get reelected and for pushing Pak into FATF trap. That will continue. That's because India will never agree that indigenous Kashmiris are terrorists without Pak support. That would be a PR disaster. Second of all, no we are not back to 1947 situation. The 35a was included way after accession in 1952 I think and that was removed.

Wow that 12 trillion dollar economy should go some way towards installing toilets then.

Nah. They made huge progress already and should complete them in a few years. But some people apparently like open air.

You give Modi (and Trump) far too much credit... to you Modi is some tactical genius..
To others he’s murderous former chai wala, religious extremist nut

Yea they can't even take POK because that will need some serious guts and balls so they will come back with "nah there is nothing for us in PoK or Pakistan". Akhand Bharat a flop drama

Nah. They made huge progress already and should complete them in a few years. But some people apparently like open air.

So then the vast open spaces, mountains and fresh air of Kashmir really is perfect for them!
They’re already craping all over it so might as well do it for real.

How is he a tactical genius if all of this is so blatant and everybody can see it. However, both Trump and Modi have balls and can execute. He could be whatever to everybody else but he doesn't care. Trump's the same.

Couldn't care about others bowel movements. People do whatever they feel like doing. It's a free country

It was already in the news a while ago that ex army will be the first to settle.

Who actually made that comment? I can only think really wealthy people will attempt as it will be far too dangerous.

Are Indians allowed to carry weapons?

Point of view of a Kashmiri.

Kashmiri Muslims say that they were not asked and informed before revoking Section 370 and 35A, and state that "The people of Kashmir are the ones to decide whether they want to be a part of India or not".

We, The Kashmiri Pandits are also "The people of Kashmir".

We choose to be a part of India.

There is a historical reason behind why Kashmir which was once a holy land turned into a deadly warzone.

Listen to our story!

We were traumatized by invaders, terrorists and separatists. Our women were raped. We had a horrific choice between either being converted or being killed.

In the year 1990, we experienced a mass genocide, but it was not the first time we had to face it. There have been seven exoduses of Kashmiri Pandits throughout history about which many people are still unaware.

THE FIRST KASHMIRI PANDIT EXODUS

It all started in the 14th century.

Shah Mir, the first Muslim invader, who started to rule Kashmir in 1339 AD converted many Kashmiri Pandits to Islam through violent means. He destroyed our temples and ruined our heritage and culture.

Shah Mir was soon followed by Taimur - The Lame, he drove a huge wedge between majority hindus and minority muslims. Infact, he made a law to persecute Kashmiri Pandits.

Following him, came Sultan Sikandar. He forced many Kashmiri Pandits to convert to Islam, desecrating many hindu temples and murdering the ones who opposed. In order to preserve the precious hindu culture and traditions, many Kashmiri Pandits had to fled their homes.

As a result of the first Kashmiri Pandit Exodus, only 11 Kashmiri Pandit families stayed in Kashmir.

THE SECOND KASHMIRI PANDIT EXODUS

The second Kashmiri Pandit Exodus lasted from 1506 AD to 1585 AD.

During the second exodus, the "Chaks" came into power. "Chaks" were a group which had become a part of the army of Shah Mir. Chaks crushed their political rivals by murders and conspiracies. They were no less ruthless than the rulers who had come before them.

Fattah Khan from 1506 AD to 1516 AD with Shah Mir's chaks demolished many hindu places of worship and tried to remove all traces of infidelity and idol worship from Kashmir. This was also known as the "Dark Ages" or "Dark Period" in the history of Kashmir because it was the ruthless era of the "Chaks".

The chaks were actually Shia muslims, whereas the ones who ruled before them were Sunni muslims. They like the others forcibly converted many Brahmin families to Islam.

Some Kashmiri Pandits sent a plea to the chaks, but they ruthlessly threw them in jail. They persecuted 950 Kashmiri Pandits every day. In order to convert the remaining hindus, they forced them to consume beef. Moreover, thousands of cows were slaughtered every week because the rulers knew that hindus worship the cows.

As a result of this, of all the violence and of all the punishments for being hindus, there was a massive exodus where many Kashmiri Pandits once again fled to never return.

THE THIRD KASHMIRI PANDIT EXODUS

Now came the third exodus under the Mughal Empire from 1585 AD to 1753 AD.

It all started with Akbar The Great, who was known for being a very humane and liberal emperor. Akbar embraced the idea of letting different religions coexist and allowed Kashmiri Pandits to come back into Kashmir and worship their religion freely.

Just when the Kashmiri Pandits started to feel back at home in their own homeland of Kashmir, came his son Jahangir Khan, who did not believe in the same religious tolerance that Akbar had believed in. With Jahangir, Shah Jahan and Aurangzeb were also interested in the torture and mass extermination of Kashmiri Pandits.

Aurangzeb, one of the most rutheless leaders immediately acted upon converting all of India to islam including Kashmiri Pandits. The first step that Aurangzeb did was to exterminate all hindu scholars because he believed they will slow down to process of conversion. Thousands of Kashmiri Pandits were converted to Islam or moved to neighboring to continue practicing hinduism.

As you can see the overall trend of all the exoduses were that certain muslim leaders came into power and as a result crushed the Kashmiri Pandit's culture by either forcefully converting them to Islam, killing them or leaving them with no option other than to flee their beloved homes.

This trend continues in the fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh exoduses.

THE FOURTH EXODUS OF KASHMIRI PANDITS

Now comes the fourth exodus of Kashmiri Pandits.

In 1753, which was under the rule of the Afghan governors. The leaders continued the mass extermination of Kashmiri Pandits which led the Kashmiri Pandits to once again flee the safety of their homes to Kabul.

Kashmiri Pandits were physically tortured in the most rutheless fashion and had to suffer much emotional and spiritual anguish.

The fourth exodus came to an end when the Sikhs finally captured Kashmir, ending the rule of the ruthless Afghan governors and bringing a little bit more peace.

THE FIFTH EXODUS OF KASHMIRI PANDITS

Now came the fifth exodus of Kashmiri Pandits which took place in the early 1900's. Due to Pandit Birbal Dhar, Maharaja Ranjit Singh was able to re-establish a hindu government in the Jammu and Kashmir State after the Sikhs took over. This was a period were all religions were able to coexist in harmony.

Many muslim rulers in India started rising up and forming an organization, which was later known as the Muslims Leading Room.

They were annoyed that educated Kashmiri Pandits lived comfortable lives and held high positions in the government. As a result, on July 13, 1931, later known as Black Day was a grave day for all Kashmiri Pandits.

Kashmiri Muslims looted and murdered many people and properties in Srinagar. As a result, after this the Dogra rulers came into power, and Kashmiri Pandits no longer had any rights.

After Independence was granted to India from the British, even though the entirety of the nation was celebrating the victory of independence, Kashmiri Pandits were unable to do so because Pakistan launched an attack on Kashmir.

Once again, thousands of Kashmiri Pandits had to leave their homes to seek refuge in Srinagar.

The post-independence period in Jammu and Kashmir led to an unmistakably slow and steady exodus of the Kashmiri Pandit Community, and this was primarily due to the fact that Kashmiri Pandits simply had no rights, privileges or opportunities anymore in Kashmir.

As horrifying as the event of the fifth exodus were, they pale in comparison to the events of sixth and seventh exoduses.

THE SIXTH EXODUS OF KASHMIRI PANDITS

During the sixth exodus, the ruling of Gul Shah was one of the worst as there were the most amount of curfew days ever. Gul Shah was eventually nicknamed "Gul Curfew" because of this.

A number of Kashmiri Pandits protested resulting in lots of violence the destruction of temples by muslims, because of this, the Kashmiri Pandits understood two things: Kashmir has only become a land for Kashmiri Muslims was no longer safe for the Kashmiri Pandits and that too, the peaceful insights that Mahatma Gandhi showed India were unfortunately very short-lived in Kashmir.

THE SEVENTH EXODUS OF KASHMIRI PANDITS

Now for the seventh and final exodus of Kashmiri Pandits, which is ongoing and has never actually officially ended. More than 350,000 Kashmiri Pandits fled in 1990, leaving behind everything they had, believing in a culture that was more than 5000 years old.

Brainwashing and instigating the Kashmiri Muslim Youth, Pakistan laid a trap of making Kashmir independent and thus resulting in lots of violence.

Advocate Tika Lal Taploo, followed by Justice Neelkant Ganjoo and many others tried to take a stand for the Kashmiri Pandits. Unfortunately, many Kashmiri Pandits suffered brutal torture where red-hot knives were touched to their eyes, their tongues were pulled out and cut in half with scissors, youths were kidnapped, tortured, shot with multiple bullets and then were thrown into the Jhelum River. One lady was ripped apart into two with a saw, threatening letters were pasted on doors or temples to either "Cheylyu, Geylyu ya Reylyu", which means run, die or accept Islam.

There was a saying at this time that "Kashmir main agar rehna hain, Allah Ho Akbar kehna hain".

The seventh exodus in Kashmir is still not officially over with Kashmir still in a state of political and religious turmoil.

The struggle continues for the thousands of Kashmiri Pandits all over the world.

But still, we don't support mass killings nor we are taking your homes. We just want our homes back.

We believe in the idea of coexisting.

Hence, We The People Of Kashmir choose to be a part of India.

The motive behind this post is not to create indifferences or spread communal hatred, but to enlighten and educate people about our history and the ground reality of the subject.

Yea they can't even take POK because that will need some serious guts and balls so they will come back with "nah there is nothing for us in PoK or Pakistan". Akhand Bharat a flop drama

What's in POK? India's water comes from Indian Kashmir. If POk had Hindu majority, then Maybe there would be a motivation to "liberate" them from the Muslims. You know, the similar rhetoric Pak has been using about Indian Kashmir for 70 years. Everybody knows it's all about water resources.

You must care since it's happening out in the open all over hindustan.

Naa it's in some rural areas. There are no open areas in cities. It's a population of 1.3 bil mind you

Only if Hindu majority region.

Not necessarily. Jammu will develop. Ladakh will too. Kashmir valley can too if people realize slowly. They were in a limbo for so long, taken advantage of and had false hopes. If someone thought India will withdraw from Kashmir considering their lifeline, water comes from that region, then they are delusional. The delusion will wear off slowly. Nobody wants people to die. That solely depends on Kashmiris.

Could be. The next time India releases their open defecation stats, I'll inform you.

You could extract the information from the regular stats regarding the lack of health facilities.

Plenty of journals/articles on it.

Point being lost is Pandits or non pandit muslims, they were all Indian prior partition

Can't correlate as people could be defecating next to a hospital. Anyway, there seems to be political will and execution and improvement in all aspects. Chinese had the same problem 20 years ago and India has been following the Chinese path.

Exemplary democracy?

Democracy is where there is free press. The press went there and asked these questions. Onus is on Kashmiris to answer. Nobody should be afraid unless they are resorting to violence.

Democracy is also free spech.

The Kashmiri people should not be afraid of letting out their true opinions.

Exactly. It would be own goal and shooting their own feet if army kills people that are non violent. There will be and should be peaceful protests and people should be able to speak their mind once the preventive measures are withdrawn.

Let's see

What if you fail. You thick headed people are ready to play with lives of people there. Then what convincing you will do.This video already exposes the convicing you are talking about. If you talk about unilateral thing ,i will say hold referendum there and lets see

Sad state of affairs. Nothing good ever came out of oppression and invasion.

India should be ashamed of itself agar sharam ho in beghairat logon me...

Exemplary democracy?

There are no "exemplary democracies" anywhere in the world. The US itself is partly an oligarchy, with the rich faring much better when they commit crimes. But non-exemplary democracies are still way better than military rule/theocracies/dictatorships.

Exemplary democracy?

Its flawed. Has been flawed forever, laws change based on religion.

Have you considered that perhaps the government wants to instigate a showdown - with this heavy handed measure

It was already a fail. There have been half a million soldiers there for decades. If the status quo is maintained, it will continue. There needs to be a change. Leadership is about making bold decisions and being prepared to face the consequences. Azadi was always off the table. The only way to change the status quo is to integrate and develop kashmir. The video doesn't expose anything. It just shows their disappointment and fear as expected. It will take time for people to buy into this. If not, there will be forced submission which is not good for both parties.

Referendum didn't happen in POK and IOK for 70 years. It will never happen. Sane minds would have realized that already

Those who are commenting on this, I hope you know that this proves terrorism the other way? They (kashmirs in larger India) are scared of local Kashmiris harming them or their families back home!

There is no advantage for GOI in a showdown. Now that they claim 100 percent authority, they will be more careful. The heavy handed measures are preacautionary to avoid instant emotional responses. Kashmiris will have platforms to protest peacefully in a few days time
