Dramatic footage emerged from Brooklyn, New York, on Thursday afternoon as Conor McGregor, along with his entourage, allegedly caused havoc at the Barclays Center after the conclusion of media day ahead of the weekend’s UFC 223 event.

McGregor is not involved in the event, but has a teammate, Artem Lobov, on the card, and the main event will see McGregor's UFC lightweight title stripped from him, with the winner of the bout between Khabib Nurmagomedov and Max Holloway walking away the new undisputed UFC lightweight champion.

The dramatic scenes occurred as a busload of fighters were waiting to be driven back to the host hotel following today's Ultimate Media Day event.

Footage captured from the bus appears to show McGregor attempting to grab a guard rail, then a waste bin, before being stopped by UFC security staff. Seconds later, an unidentified individual throws a missile that smashes a window of the bus.

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/63OCvuC-GSY" frameborder="0" allow="autoplay; encrypted-media" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Speaking to reporters after arriving at the scene, UFC president Dana White claimed that the former two-weight UFC champion was set to be arrested by the NYPD.

"There is a warrant out for Conor McGregor's arrest," he told reporters.

"They're looking for him right now. His plane cannot take off. He cannot leave the state of New York with this warrant. He'll be grounded and I'm assuming eventually if they don't catch him, he'll turn himself in.

"You can imagine he's gonna be sued beyond belief, and this was a real bad career move for him.”

The NYPD has yet to confirm the arrest warrant, with the department simply stating that they were investigating the incident.

The incident left the UFC bus badly damaged and UFC lightweight Michael Chiesa with a cut forehead.

Speaking to MMAjunkie after the incident, Chiesa's manager Rick Little said: "Mike’s cut up now. He’s got marks on him, for sure. I don’t think too serious. Everything happened so fast, it was just like we got jumped.”

UFC featherweight and teammate of McGregor, Artem Lobov, has been pulled from the card for his alleged involvement in the incident.

Potential legal ramifications aside, questions will now be raised over whether Conor McGregor will fight in the UFC’s octagon again.

Based on his reaction, UFC president White seems less than keen.

"Do you want to be in business with Conor McGregor right now?" he asked reporters.

"Do you want to chase this guy around for interviews, and buy his fights? I don't think anybody is going to want to right now. I think everybody is going to be pretty disgusted with Conor McGregor right now.

"Listen, you don't like Khabib and you don't like what happened (with Lobov) or whatever? Then fight Khabib. You can come in here and you can do it legally.

"This fight's happening Saturday. We could have talked and made the Khabib fight right after. You could do whatever you wanted to Khabib within the limits of the rules of fighting.

"But you want to grab 30 friends and come down here and do what you did today? It's disgusting, and I don't think anybody is going to be huge Conor McGregor fans after this."

And White, who has been a strong backer and advocate of the at-times-controversial Irishman, was left almost speechless after his biggest star's actions in Brooklyn.

"To come and do this and act like this? And you're talking about a guy who has a baby. He just had a kid. This is how you're acting? You have a son at home."

Khabib cornered Conor's friend on his own in bullying fashion saying 'where's Conor now' , there is footage online and Nate Diaz has been speaking of the incident on twitter to.

Upon hearing this Conor caught a flight from Ireland to the US :)) and tried to find Khabib who was hiding on the bus :yk

Anyway the fight is worth millions now whatever your stance :afridi

Fed up of hearing about McGregor for his exploits outside the ring. The two fighters going for the interim belt would both probably give him a good whupping, I think that's why he's running scared of the UFC and spending his time partying.

He has made his money now and is the A side, not a matter of running scared but he's in a position where he dictates terms and decides if he would like to oblige the UFC and their fighters. After all he made in one fight sums that would total the career earnings of the entire UFC roster, at that stage I'd rather party as well plus no one looks close to beating him either, maybe the hunger is not there now but how many times have x or y meant to have been the stylistic favourite to beat him and succeeded , very few

I don't believe Dana taking the moral high ground, he is licking his lips

Both McGregor and Dana are about the money. Dana said there is a warrant but NYPD said there is no warrant. This has probably skyrocketed the value of a McGregor vs. Khabib fight that might happen if he beats Holloway. UFC has realised if they want to increase the value of fights, they need some WWE style drama.

Can't believe people over 12 still follow this, WWE etc.

Khabib Nurmagomedov reacts to Conor McGregor’s bus attack: ‘I am laughing’

Khabib Nurmagomedov doesn’t sound fired up. He doesn’t sound bothered, actually.

Just hours after Conor McGregor and his friends stormed a bus carrying Nurmagomedov and other fighters competing on Saturday’s UFC 223 card in the Barclays Center loading dock, Nurmagomedov said he wasn’t impressed by Team McGregor’s antics.

“I am laughing inside,” Nurmagomedov said. “You broke window? Why? Come inside. You know UFC don’t let you come inside. If you real gangster why don’t you come inside?

“This is big history gangster place. Brooklyn. You want to talk to me? Send me location. We have to talk? I am gonna come, no problem.

“I grew up like this. I don’t grow up throwing chairs at window. This is not my bus.”

Following Thursday’s media day at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y., McGregor, as well as members of his team, entered the arena. According to sources with knowledge of the situation, they arrived in “retaliation” against Nurmagomedov and his team cornering Artem Lobov, a teammate and good friend of McGregor’s, earlier in the week. Bad blood has been brewing for months between both camps.

On Thursday, according to multiple video accounts and sources, McGregor and his team confronted a bus carrying the red corner fighters competing on Saturday night’s card and began throwing equipment at the bus. Michael Chiesa, who is scheduled to fight Anthony Pettis at UFC 223, suffered multiple facial cuts as a result of a broken window. He was taken to a local hospital to treat the cuts, but he has since been released and is still planning on competing on the card.

UFC strawweight champion Rose Namajunas, who defends her belt against Joanna Joanna Jędrzejczyk, was visibly shaken up but not physically injured and is, according to sources, still planning on competing Saturday night.

Ray Borg, who meets Brandon Moreno at UFC 223, had glass from the shattered window hit his eye but is not injured, according to sources.

UFC president Dana White said a company employee was also injured in the incident.

Nurmagomedov wanted to make it very clear that his whole team wasn’t on the bus.

“This is not my team bus, this is red corner bus,” he said. “My whole team wasn’t with me. It was just me, (my manager) Ali Abdelaziz and a cornerman, Muhammed. The whole red corner was on the bus. Rose Namajunas, Al Iaquinta, Karolina Kowalkiewicz, Ray Borg. Everyone.”

Asked if he was injured, Nurmagomedov said, “I am good. I feel good. Tomorrow, I am going to make weight. On Saturday, I am going to take belt and change the game.”

Following the incident, UFC president Dana White told reporters that there was a warrant out for McGregor’s arrest, however MMA Fighting’s Marc Raimondi later reported that as of 3:55 p.m. EST that was not the case, per a New York Police Department spokesperson.

“To be honest, I don’t want him to go to jail,” Nurmagomedov said. “We have to fight. If we have to fight, let’s fight. Send me location. Please, we have to fix this. Me and you. One-on-one. You want 10-on-10? OK.

“I give his whole team slap and no one say anything. He come with media, with cameras when I’m alone. Of course I want to go outside but they don’t let me leave the bus. He knows this.

“They don’t do nothing. I’m here.”

Earlier this week, McGregor was still on the fence about traveling to Brooklyn, sources say. However, once footage emerged of Nurmagomedov and his team members confronting Lobov, who has since been pulled from his UFC 223 fight against Alex Caceres for his involvement in the incident, that set the wheels in motion to retaliate.

When asked on Wednesday about the Lobov run-in, Nurmagomedov shrugged it off as “nothing,” however, on Thursday he said, “I explained to Artem like a small baby, ‘Hey, no more talk about me.’”

Nurmagomedov is scheduled to fight Max Holloway on Saturday night for what is being described as the “official lightweight title.” McGregor has yet to be officially stripped of the belt.

Wow. This is child like behaviour, can't believe a man would feel the need to do such a thing never mind a well accomplished one. Very disappointing stuff from Mcgregor. Clearly the fame has gotten to his head, and he should be punished accordingly.

I know he has made lots of money, but I watched him get beat by an over the hill Nate Diaz which exposed his limitations when he meets a quality fighter who can match his reach, even if Diaz was past his best by a long way. I genuinely think Ferguson has the same tools to dismantle McGregor, and Khabib has been destroying everyone that is put in front of him. McGregor is avoiding these fights, whether it's because he's made his money or not, so that just confirms my suspicion that he knows he could lose as well. He doesn't want that blow to his reputation.

You clearly haven't seen his stupid **** in mma events that are held in ireland. He gets away with punching referees, breaking mma rules & physcially/verbally abusing other mma officials and nobody even touches the douche.

And yeah like certain poster above I would love to see him against Ferguson cause he has the tools to punish connor on his limitations and as much as i hate to criticize Connor, I think he is purposefully ducking these tough fights so as to protect his brand value.

Building up to a great fight.

McGregor is wild but he knows how to build up a rivalry.

Building up to a great fight.

McGregor is wild but he knows how to build up a rivalry.

He's not even part of MMA at the moment. The real rivalry will be in the fight tomorrow between Khabib and Ferguson, two genuine quality lightweight fighters who McGregor has been ducking for nearly two years. Can't wait for tomorrow's showdown, it is one of the biggest, most anticipated fights of the year.

Wake up mate, Tony ain't fighting, it's the Bear vs the Blessed Holloway. Oh and McGregor is under arrest :19:

He shouldn't have been fighting at that weight so Diaz didn't gain much from that victory over Conor so I wouldn't look too much into it and that loss was avenged regardless.

I don't think he is ducking them, he made his money. And he has taken many risks during his career, the fear of losing is not there and he doesn't have a 100% clean record. Had the Floyd fight not happened then Conor would have fought both guys by now but when you have 100 + mill in your account then you call the shots. Plus he doesn't need to fight anymore all the others need that pay day from Conor though.

But this feud with Khabib seems personal and with the recent events it will do a great PPV buy rate, chances are the fight could happen

Those two keep ducking each other, Conor had Floyd to worry about during that time. Holloway is obliging Khabib when he doesn't need to but Khabib got more to lose and not a lot to gain, it will be a tainted victory

This sissy savagery / rolling on the floor in Y fronts is entirely reliant on Conor, there is no other draw. So much for taking over Boxing after being the flavour of the month in 2016

A clown of the highest order. Behaves like a teen!A very unlikeable person.

Lmao Max is out so the title fight is not on, as always in recent times the women have been carrying the UFC. I was looking forward to Rose / Joanna 2 more then any of the fights long before the recent pull outs

It seems he was cuffed and taken to court?

This clown ruined boxing with a joke of a contest. A sport which many youngsters use to better themselves, they see hard working and dedication by boxers but when his pre fight talk was nothing short of imbecile talking trash.

I dont follow UFC much because imo it's mostly fixed but I hope if he fights again, he gets knocked out cold....for mins. :)

Imagine if the ref gets knocked down at UFC 223 main event, Conor shows up with a steel chair and costs Khabib the title. :)))

Khabib would maul him like a baby doll.

You don't have the facts.

Artem talked smack in an interview. He was saying Khabib was a coward, etc... Khabib went up to his face and slapped him and told him not to talk.

Also, Khabib himself told the media in the press conference to ask anyone on the bus, he was trying to get off the bus because he knew Connor was looking for him. Security did not let him off. Think about it, to let him off security would have to open the door....I am pretty sure they would be fired if they opened the door of a place they are supposed to be guarding :maqsood

Fact is, Khabib was ready to fight Ferguson, Connor, and he has made it clear he wants to fight the best.

So how is he a coward?

UFC star Conor McGregor has been arrested in Miami for allegedly smashing a fan's phone as they tried to take pictures.

The Irish fighter is being charged with strong-armed robbery and misdemeanour criminal mischief, police said.

The alleged incident took place as the 30-year-old left the Fontainebleau Miami Beach hotel at 05.20 local time.

A police report says he knocked the phone out of the fan's hand, stamped on it then picked it up and left with it.

"The victim attempted to take a picture of the defendant with his cell phone. The defendant slapped the victim's phone out of his hand, causing it to fall to the floor," a police report said.

"The defendant then stomped on the victim's phone several times, damaging it. The defendant then picked up the victim's phone and walked away with it, depriving him of it. The defendant was located and arrested."

It added the alleged victim's phone was valued at $1,000 (£760).

Last year McGregor was ordered by a court to undergo anger management training and perform five days of community service in return for the dropping of criminal charges for attacking a bus containing rival UFC fighters.

The former two-weight champion has been in Florida preparing for his UFC comeback after losing his last fight to Khabib Nurmagomedov in October 2018.

That came a year after McGregor lost a boxing match thought to be the most lucrative in history to multiple world champion Floyd Mayweather.

American Mayweather earned a reported $100m from the bout, with McGregor thought to have pocketed $30m.

Former two-weight UFC champion Conor McGregor says he was "in the wrong" and will "face what's coming" after an altercation in a Dublin pub in April.

Video footage of the incident released earlier in August appears to show McGregor, 31, punch a man in the head.

The Irishman, who announced his mixed martial arts retirement in March, says seeing the video is "like a dagger into my heart".

"I must take accountability and take responsibility," McGregor told ESPN.

"It doesn't matter what happened there - I was in the wrong. That man deserved to enjoy his time in the pub without having it end the way it did.

"I have been making amends to be better - to be a better father, be a better human, to be a better role model to these kids.

"I have to realise that is not the attitude or behaviour of a leader, of a martial artist or a champion. I must get my head screwed on and get back in the game, fight for redemption, retribution, respect - the things that made me the man I am.

"I was completely in the wrong. It was unacceptable behaviour."

Police in Ireland have been investigating the incident and McGregor said: "Whatever comes my way, I will face it. Whatever comes my way, I deserve it. I will face this head on. I will not hide from it."

Asked if he has an anger problem, he replied: "I must be calm. I must be Zen. I must lead by example. I need to get a hold of this and I am working very hard to do this.

"I am taking the necessary steps."

The Dublin incident took place a month after McGregor was arrested for allegedly smashing a fan's phone in Miami, USA.

Florida prosecutors dropped all charges against the Irishman, who had already settled a civil lawsuit out of court.

He's lost it.

Attacking an old man just because he didn't want to drink his whisky

Pathetic behavior. He is a disgrace to the MMA community!

Mixed martial arts fighter Conor McGregor has pleaded guilty to one charge of assault after an altercation in a Dublin pub in April.

Footage of the incident released in August showed McGregor punching Desmond Keogh in the head at the Marble Arch pub in Drimnagh, south of the centre.

On Friday, the 31-year-old was convicted and fined 1,000 euros (£861).

The court heard Mr Keogh did not want to give a victim statement and that he had accepted an apology from McGregor.

McGregor was promoting his own brand of whiskey at the pub when the altercation took place on 6 April.

"It doesn't matter what happened there - I was in the wrong," he told ESPN in August. "That man deserved to enjoy his time in the pub without having it end the way it did."

The Irishman announced his retirement from the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) in March, but has since said he plans to make his return to the sport in January 2020.

He has not competed since his loss to Russia's Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 229 in October 2018.

This is not the first time McGregor has had trouble with the law. In July 2018 he pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct in a US court after an altercation with other fighters.

The incident in the Dublin pub came a month after the alleged smashing of a fan's phone in Miami.

Florida prosecutors dropped all charges against McGregor.

got away easy

Conor McGregor has declared himself as the second greatest MMA fighter of all time behind Anderson Silva.

The Dubliner, 31, took to Twitter on Saturday to anoint Silva, but said he will "easily" surpass the Brazilian before retiring.

McGregor last fought in January, defeating Donald Cerrone at UFC 246.

"The array of finishes, across 2 divisions, with champion status in 1, Anderson Silva is No.1 MMA GOAT," said McGregor.

McGregor, who has a 22-4 record in the UFC, claims his "champion status" in two divisions - featherweight and lightweight - is enough to secure him second place behind former middleweight champion Silva.

"My array of finishes, across 3 divisions, with champion status in 2, I'm No.2. If not tied one.

"However [I am] still active, No.1 is fully secured by career end. And easily."

McGregor's top four is rounded out by former middleweight and welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre and current light heavyweight belt-holder Jon Jones.

He added that had he taken into account failed drugs tests while determining his rankings, he would have installed himself at the top.

Silva and Jones have both tested positive for banned substances during their career.

"I didn't mention PED results on multiple entrants, even though that makes me the clear current No.1 MMA GOAT, along with still being active," said McGregor.

"Although it shames, as well as puts all runs and finishes in complete doubt, I've snored multiple juice heads. A true GOAT must do it all."

This man really put himself ahead of GSP and Jonny bones smh

Its Fedor, Silva and GSP in the top 3. Jones was doping heavily enough to get caught post-USADA so he's out. Silva popping as a geriatric does not count :p

yah Jones tarnished his reputation but he has dismantled the LHW division twice over. He would have won regardless of cocaine or any PEd"s. I think GSP is the goat personally but you could put any one of Fedor, silva or jones. if khabib defends his title afew more times he will be undoubtedly ib this discussion as well.

Strange to see you think so when Jones himself thinks he needs the PEDs to compete :13:
Anyway Jones arguably lost his last 2 fights and hopefully the Ngannou fight goes ahead, it'd be very interesting to see if Jones can Stipe him or get Overeemed

STOCKHOLM (Reuters) - Former two-weight UFC champion Conor McGregor has announced on Twitter that he is retiring from the sport for the third time.

“Hey guys I’ve decided to retire from fighting. Thank you all for the amazing memories! What a ride it’s been!” the Irishman said, adding a picture of him and his mother and promising to buy her a dream home.

The 31-year-old former UFC featherweight and lightweight champ first quit the sport in April 2016. In March 2019, he again announced he was hanging up his gloves, but on both occasions the retirements were short-lived.

Conor McGregor has been arrested in Corsica for attempted sexual assault, French officials say.

The UFC superstar had been sailing around the Mediterranean on his yacht recently with his fiancée, Dee Devlin ... but McGregor allegedly flew off the handle on Thursday.

A court official in Corsica sent a statement to the Agence France-Presse confirming Conor's arrest.

"Following a complaint filed on September 10 denouncing acts that could be described as attempted sexual assault and sexual exhibition, Mr. Conor Anthony Mac Gregor was the subject of a hearing by the gendarmerie services,” prosecutors said.

Another report out of France says the alleged incident took place at a bar.

Earlier this week, Conor was teasing a UFC comeback -- saying he let the UFC's drug testing agents on his yacht to take a sample.

McGregor proposed to his longtime girlfriend Dee Devlin just last month ... and was even spotted on a photo shoot with her this week.

Conor and Devlin have 2 kids together.

Of course, Conor has a long history with the law ... he was arrested and prosecuted for throwing a steel dolly through a UFC bus window a few years ago. He was also arrested for felony robbery for taking a man's cell phone at a Miami hotel in 2019.

And don't forget the time he punched an elderly man in the face for no reason at a pub in Ireland in April 2019.

Conor McGregor has deleted a series of concerning tweets in the aftermath of arrest on suspicion of attempted sexual assault and indecent exposure.

The 32-year-old former UFC champion was released on Saturday without charge, and appears to be taking his latest controversy hard.

McGregor, who is a former two-weight world champion, has retired from MMA

McGregor hit back at a Twitter user’s remark that England ‘can have him’ in response to an article, which described the proud Irishman as ‘English’.

The user describes herself as a ‘Certified Suicide Intervention Specialist’ in her Twitter bio, which McGregor picked up on.

“Suicide intervention yet ridiculing me in this manner online, at this horrendous time in my life,” he tweeted. “I am trying to stay strong for my kids and the people that rely on me and that love and support me. Thanks for the insults, hypocrite.”

He later wrote: “I can’t go on like this man. I am crushed here.”

Conor McGregor deleted this tweets shortly after posting them

This tweet was deleted, but not before concerned fans were able to screen shot it.

McGregor has recently spent the last few weeks in Corsica with his fiancee Dee Devlin.

He could be re-arrested pending some ‘key physical test results’ that took place while he was in custody amid accusations of indecent exposure to a young married woman.

The Irishman was supposed to be participating in a 180km marathon endurance alongside Princess Charlene of Monaco in a bid to raise awareness of water safety. He has now pulled out of the event which began a couple of days ago.

One of McGregor’s representatives told TMZ the former two-weight UFC champion ‘vigorously denied any misconduct.’

UFC president Dana White believes a lot of McGregor’s problems stem from his lifestyle.

“That kind of a life, crazy s*** happens when you’re in that type of lifestyle,” he told reporters after UFC Vegas 10.

“You try to go out and act normal and be normal, and it’s hard to do sometimes.

“I’m not defending Conor in any way, shape, or form. I don’t know enough about the situation to talk about it all. But I do know I’ve gone out with him before, and it’s bats*** nuts.”

Conor McGregor says he is coming out of retirement for a boxing fight with Manny Pacquiao in the Middle East.

The former two-weight UFC champion, 32, retired from fighting in June - for the third time in four years.

He returned to face Floyd Mayweather in his first professional boxing match in 2017 and now says he will meet eight-weight world champion Pacquiao, 41.

"It will be a true honour to have faced two of the greatest boxers of the modern era," the Irishman tweeted.

Earlier on Thursday, McGregor posted a video on Instagram of himself shadow boxing in a ring.

McGregor's last fight was a win over Donald Cerrone at UFC 246 in January, which gave him a 22-4 record in mixed martial arts.

Filipino Pacquiao last stepped into the ring in July 2019, beating Keith Thurman to take his boxing record to 62-7, with two draws.

McGregor was stopped by former five-weight world champion Mayweather in the 10th round of one of the richest bouts in boxing history in August 2017.

The Las Vegas fight generated more than £450m through 4.3m pay-per-view buys in North America, second only to Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao's 4.6m in 2015.

Jake Paul calls out Conor McGregor after knockout victory over Nate Robinson

Jake Paul issued a challenge to UFC star Conor McGregor after a knockout win over former NBA player Nate Robinson in Los Angeles.

The YouTube star floored Robinson heavily to seal his second boxing victory on the Mike Tyson-Roy Jones Jr undercard and then named McGregor on a list of potential next opponents.

Paul has also been linked with a fight against fellow social media star KSI, who defeated his brother Logan in last year's rematch, and the Brit gave a scathing assessment of his American rival's performance.

He tweeted: "I saw nothing special from Jake lol. Soon come."

Robinson, who had retired from basketball two years ago, came charging out of his corner in the first round, but he soon fell to the canvas after being clipped by a punch behind his ear.

Paul floored Robinson again in the second round, then dramatically ended the bout as a right hand sent Robinson toppling face-first onto the canvas.

There was a worrying delay as Robinson required medical attention before getting to his feet following a heavy knockdown.

Jake Paul had marked his boxing debut with another knockout win, a first-round victory over YouTuber AnEsonGib in January.

"I'm taking this seriously," Paul told BT Sport Box Office. "There's a long list of opponents that I want. Conor McGregor, Dillon Danis, I'm going to knock them both out.

"There's my brother, there's KSI on the line, Austin McBroom. I want to be in this sport a long time. I'm in love with it, so why not."

This wave of youtube boxing is a joke and needs to stop, they have no idea what they are doing and risk permanent injury.

At this stage of his career Manny has earned the right to do what is best for him, Conor is an easy pay day at this stage of his career to and a safer option. Post corona I would have liked to see him retire though after the surreal win over Thurman, can't think of a better way to end his career all things considered. Given the long time between camps, challenging one of the top 147 pounders such as Spence or Crawford is ill advised in my view at his age.

McGregor v Poirier 3: Conor McGregor confirms UFC trilogy fight on 10 July

Conor McGregor has confirmed he will meet Dustin Poirier in the UFC octagon for a third time on 10 July.

The Irishman, a former two-weight world champion, came out of retirement for January's rematch at UFC 257 but was stunned as Poirier claimed victory.

McGregor had stopped the American inside 106 seconds in their first meeting in September 2014.

"The fight is booked!" McGregor said on Instagram. "July 10th you're gonna see what the Mac is about."

McGregor, who has a 22-5 record, will be searching for his first win since January 2020, while Poirier (27-6) is unbeaten since his 2019 defeat by Khabib Nurmagomedov.

The trilogy fight will take place at UFC 264, which UFC president Dana White reportedly wants to hold in Las Vegas.

Victory in their first meeting set McGregor on course for global stardom. He became UFC's first simultaneous two-weight champion before facing Floyd Mayweather in one of the richest bouts in boxing history in 2017.

Poirier, meanwhile, had to gradually work his way back into title contention and is now the number one lightweight contender, losing just two of his 13 fights since 2014.

Conor McGregor sustained a serious leg break to cast doubt on his future as he lost to lightweight rival Dustin Poirier via doctor's stoppage in round one at UFC 264 in Las Vegas.

Feels like Conor is on the way out. He looked good while they were both on their feet, he was striking well, but then seemed to get hurt more when Dustin hit back and then he ended up on the deck where he was clearly losing. KO'd once, and now a broken ankle, seems like he is feeling the wear and tear even though he is only 32.

<b>Mirror: Conor McGregor's net worth after his proposal to buy Chelsea for £3billion</b>

Conor McGregor has claimed he wants to explore the possibility of buying Premier League side Chelsea.

The European and world champions are set to be sold by owner Roman Abramovich - if he can find a buyer willing to match his £3billion price tag.

Swiss billionaire Hansjorg Wyss is already preparing a consortium with a view to making a bid before Abramovich's Friday deadline.

And UFC star McGregor has posted a cheeky tweet to Chelsea saying, "I wish to explore this".

His 'interest' comes less than a year after he told his nine million followers that he was "thinking about buying Manchester United."

But could McGregor, who is currently sidelined as he recovers from a broken leg, actually afford Chelsea? The short answer is no.

McGregor is undoubtedly the biggest star the UFC has ever had and is responsible for four of the top-five biggest selling pay-per-view events in the promotion's history.

He has earned millions from his efforts in the cage which saw him win featherweight and lightweight titles in his prime.

But he has made most of his money outside the UFC; first from his professional boxing debut against Floyd Mayweather in 2017 and then from the sale of his Proper 12 whiskey brand.

His 10th-round stoppage defeat by Mayweather earned him around $100million while his opponent reportedly banked up to twice as much.

For his UFC exploits, McGregor is believed to earn around £20-£25m for each fight with his base pay making up around £5m while the remainder comes from his share of the PPV sales.

But it was the sale of Proper 12 which seriously boosted his earnings with McGregor selling the company for $150m last year.

He claims, however, that the deal could eventually net him a staggering $700m.

"It's upwards of $700m that deal is worth over the coming years and I haven't celebrated with a glass yet because I was in camp so I stayed focused, " he said before his trilogy fight with Dustin Poirier last summer.

The Dubliner also celebrated being named as the richest athlete in 2021 by Forbes magazine, ahead of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, largely thanks to the sale of his company.

McGregor's net worth, therefore, is estimated to be around £135m - nowhere close to Abramovich's valuation.

The Irishman could, of course, join together with other investors and form his own consortium.

But given the time-sensitive nature of the sale, and McGregor's bid to return to the UFC this year - we don't see him following up on his initial 'interest'.

Conor McGregor says he will box again, that UFC story is 'far from over'

Conor McGregor says his UFC story "is far from over" - but insists he will return to the boxing ring again at some stage.

McGregor has not competed inside the octagon since breaking his leg at the start of a trilogy fight with Dustin Poirier in July 2021.

The Irishman told Sky Sports News while attending the Monaco Grand Prix weekend that he is well on the way to recovery and will make his comeback for UFC.

But he also said he will box again before he retires, having previously lost to Floyd Mayweather via a technical knockout in the 10th round of their 2017 contest.

McGregor said: "Boxing is my first love in combat sports. I had such a great time the last time I was out there.

"Obviously, my return will be in the octagon for UFC - that story is far from over, in fact it's just being written, it is just the beginning.

"But, boxing, for sure I will grace the squared circle again in the future.

https://www.skysports.com/boxing/ne...ill-box-again-that-ufc-story-is-far-from-over

Beginning? Other than a hefty payday who can he matchup against and stand a pretty decent chance of beating. I think only fights that make sense or Chandler/Ferguson/Gaethje - strikers that he can bang and trade with and hope he comes out on top.

The problem is, he doesn't fancy cutting weight and probably has to fight at 170 if he comes back and I don't think he has much to offer there either. Only interesting matchups I can see him in is against Masvidal or Diaz there, he should stay away from Usman and the other wrestling heavy fighters.

Conor McGregor "hasn't lost a beat" and is "looking great" as he continues his recovery from injury, says his coach John Kavanagh.

Floyd Mayweather says he wants to fight UFC star Conor McGregor in an exhibition bout next year.

Mayweather, 45, knocked out McGregor in the final fight of his professional career in 2017.

Having competed in several exhibitions since retiring, Mayweather says he is in talks to fight McGregor again.

"We don't know if it's going to be an exhibition or a real fight," he told the Daily Mail. "I would prefer an exhibition."

Mayweather suggested Allegiant Stadium, home to the NFL's Las Vegas Raiders, as a potential venue for his rematch with McGregor.

"They already talked to me about my number that I'm going to receive," Floyd told TMZ, adding, "9 figures."

"You know we gotta start at least 100 million for Floyd Mayweather."

Mayweather competes in another exhibition fight this weekend in Japan when he faces MMA star Mikuru Asakura.

The American, who retired from boxing undefeated with a 50-0 record, has appeared in several exhibition fights, including against YouTube star Logan Paul last year.

Conor McGregor has denied allegations of sexual assault against a woman at game four of the NBA finals on Saturday.

A statement issued via his lawyer, Barbara R Llanes, said: "The allegations are false. Mr McGregor will not be intimidated."

Miami Police have confirmed they are investigating a report issued to them on 11 June, the day after the game at the Kaseya Center in Florida.

"At this time all we can confirm is that MPD's Special Victims Unit is investigating a report that was filed Sunday, June 11, 2023," the force said.

"This is an open investigation so no additional information can be released at this time."

The NBA and Miami Heat said they were investigating the allegations, while UFC said it was gathering information and would "allow the legal process to play out" before commenting further.

The original allegations were published in US tabloid magazine TMZ and included a detailed and graphic depiction issued by the woman's attorney.

The Irish mixed martial arts star was also involved in a half-time skit at the game between the Denver Nuggets and Miami Heat.

McGregor, 34, punched a Heat mascot on court, who reportedly needed hospital treatment afterwards.

Conor McGregor: UFC star 'submits paperwork' to return to Usada testing pool

Conor McGregor has begun the process to re-enter the United States Anti-Doping Agency's testing pool, says Dana White.

The Irishman was removed from testing last year after breaking his leg in his defeat by Dustin Poirier in July 2021.

McGregor, 35, was expected to face Michael Chandler this year, but cannot fight until he is back in the testing pool for six months.

"He is not officially in the Usada pool," UFC president White said. "He submitted the paperwork."

White added: "Probably by Monday, he'll be submitted. Again, don't hold me to that. But the paperwork is submitted next week sometime."

American fighter Chandler appeared on the UFC's reality TV series The Ultimate Fighter with McGregor earlier this year.

Traditionally, the coaches of the show fight each other, but the bout between Chandler and McGregor has been delayed after it emerged McGregor was not being tested.

Conor McGregor won't face charges after sexual assault claim

UFC fighter Conor McGregor won't face charges over a claim of sexual assault at an NBA finals game in Florida in June, prosecutors have told the BBC.

Mr McGregor was accused of "violently" forcing himself on a woman in a VIP bathroom in the Kaseya Center in Miami.

The unnamed accuser also said arena security aided the attack by trapping her in the toilet.

The 35-year-old Irishman has denied the allegation since it emerged last year.

On Wednesday, a spokesperson for the state attorney's office confirmed to the BBC that the case had been dropped.

The alleged incident occurred during Game 4 of last year's NBA finals between Miami Heat and the Denver Nuggets.

In a letter obtained by the BBC last year, a lawyer for the woman alleged she had been forced into a men's bathroom by security guards from the NBA and Miami Heat, before being sexually assaulted by Mr McGregor.

The letter said the woman was able to free herself from the bathroom, but left behind her purse, which she was said to have retrieved after pleading with security guards.

It also alleged that security for the league, team and arena "aided and abetted" Mr McGregor by forcing her into the bathroom.

Security footage later emerged showing Mr McGregor and his accuser entering the bathroom together.

Barbara Llanes, Mr McGregor's lawyer, told the BBC that the UFC star and his family were "pleased this is now over".

"After a thorough investigation, including a review of videos and interviews with eyewitnesses, the authorities have concluded that there is no case to pursue against my client, Conor McGregor," Ms Llanes said in a statement.

"As anticipated, this decision by the authorities confirms Mr McGregor's account of the evening," she added.

The Irishman has not fought in the UFC since he suffered a broken leg while fighting against Dustin Poirier in July 2021.

Last week his bid to return to the sport moved a step closer as he re-entered the United States Anti-Doping Agency's testing pool.

He was expected to face Michael Chandler this year, but cannot fight until he is back in the testing pool for six months. His return to action is now expected at some point in 2024.

Conor McGregor says he's fighting Michael Chandler next in Las Vegas on June 29

Conor McGregor says he will make his long-awaited UFC return against Michael Chandler in Las Vegas on June 29.

In a video posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, on New Year's Eve, McGregor announced he was to fight Chandler at 185lbs - a weight class that neither have previously fought at - during International Fight Week.

McGregor (22-6) hasn't competed since breaking a leg in July 2021 during his second consecutive loss to Dustin Poirier.

Chandler (23-8), who is a former three-time Bellator lightweight champion, has lost three of his last four fights - including a defeat to Poirier in November, 2022.

The rivals, who coached against each other on The Ultimate Fighter in May, were expected to fight in December before McGregor's return was delayed by his absence from the USADA drug-testing pool.

Conor McGregor has donated £25,000 to Irish MMA fighter Ryan Curtis after he sustained "life-changing" injuries in a training accident.

Fighter Leah McCourt said Curtis, 31, had sustained "a broken back, a broken neck and a dislocated spine".

Curtis has been a professional since 2015 and has fought on Cage Warriors and Bellator cards.

McGregor posted on social media that he was "sending my support and well wishes" to the Dublin fighter.

Belfast boxer Michael Conlan, MMA fighters Molly McCann and Dillon Danis and coach John Kavanagh have also donated to Curtis and his family.

In a post on Instagram, Belfast's McCourt said "there is no exact end date as to when his treatment will be complete".

"Ryan will never be able to do what he loves, and fight or train in MMA again. A sport he has dedicated his life to from the age of 11," she added.

"Ryan has the most infectious positive outlook in life and has been through some of the most horrific circumstances, always coming out a better human, man and friend.

"He is still showing his positive outlook, his determination and mindset to overcome yet another challenge that life has presented."

Curtis' partner, Emma, posted on social media that she was "overwhelmed by the tremendous kindness".

"The love and support for Ryan are truly a testament to his remarkable character. Ryan remains optimistic, I have never known anyone with a stronger mindset than him.

"I truly believe that Ryan will hug me and our beautiful daughter Kassia again. Please keep Ryan in your prayers."

Conor McGregor to make UFC comeback on June 29 in Las Vegas against Michael Chandler

Conor McGregor will make his long-awaited return to the Octagon on June 29 when he takes on Michael Chandler at UFC 303 in Las Vegas.

It has been three years since McGregor last fought in the UFC after breaking his left leg in the first round of his trilogy fight with Dustin Poirier.

The UFC confirmed the welterweight bout following UFC 300 in Las Vegas on Saturday and it will be contested over five rounds, taking place at the end of International Fight Week.

McGregor has 22 wins and six defeats in his MMA career, only picking up one victory since becoming the UFC's first simultaneous two-weight champion in 2016.

His opponent Chandler has contested 31 bouts, winning 23 and losing eight.

"It's not that we've been working on it for ages," UFC CEO Dana White said during the UFC 300 press conference.

"There are all kinds of things that go on behind the scenes, it's all about timing.

"Chandler has been ready but Conor hasn't been ready. We talked about this at one of the press conferences recently, he had a lot of obligations that he had to deal with.

"What you don't want him doing is accepting a fight when he's got a ton of obligations and he can't train 100 per cent for a fight.

"It's never hard with Conor, I say it all the time Conor has been a great partner and easy to deal with. We're back, he's a smart dude and Conor is a die-hard UFC guy and will be till he retires and beyond."

McGregor posts training footage amid injury rumours

Conor McGregor has posted a string of training footage videos on social media amid rumours his fight with Michael Chandler on 29 June is in jeopardy.

The UFC "postponed" a news conference on Monday that was set to feature McGregor and Chandler.

The media event was cancelled on the day it was due to take place in Dublin, sparking rumours McGregor had suffered an injury.

McGregor, 35, apologised to fans for the late cancellation, but neither he or the UFC have commented further.

In training footage posted on Friday, the Irishman can be seen sparring at SBG Gym and Crumlin Boxing Club, although every video appears to be from different sessions.

On Thursday McGregor also shared a picture of himself smiling at what appears to be a doctor's office.

American Chandler has posted from his training camp in Florida, suggesting he is still preparing for the fight.

McGregor is due to headline alongside Chandler at UFC 303 in Las Vegas, in his first fight since breaking his leg against Dustin Poirier in July 2021.

The Dubliner has fought just four times since becoming a two-weight UFC champion in 2016, winning only once in those fights.

McGregor has 22 wins in 28 fights, while 38-year-old Chandler has 23 wins in 31 bouts.

McGregor pulls out of Chandler fight

Conor McGregor's comeback fight against Michael Chandler at UFC 303 on 29 June has been cancelled.

The Irishman, 35, was scheduled to fight for the first time since breaking his leg during defeat by Dustin Poirier in July 2021.

UFC president Dana White said on X that the welterweight bout in Las Vegas was called off because of an injury to McGregor.

It is the first time the former two-weight world champion has been forced to pull out of a UFC fight through injury.

The original co-main event between American light-heavyweights Jamahal Hill and New Zealand's Carlos Ulberg has also been cancelled because of a knee injury to Hill.

White announced two additional fights, with Brazilian light-heavyweight champion Alex Pereira defending his title against the Czech Republic's Jiri Prochazka in the new main event.

A featherweight bout between American Brian Ortega and Brazil's Diego Lopes is the new co-main event.

Fight week in Las Vegas is traditionally the biggest event of the UFC calendar.

The McGregor-Chandler fight was announced on 24 May and tickets sold out in less than 10 minutes.

The UFC "postponed" a news conference in Dublin this month, although American Chandler, 36, continued to train and the UFC's broadcast partners continued to advertise the fight.

The highly anticipated welterweight bout between Irishman Ian Garry and Briton Michael 'Venom' Page remains on the card.

McGregor’s injury 'absolutely real' - White

Conor McGregor's injury is "absolutely real", says UFC president Dana White, who is unsure when the Irishman might return to action.

McGregor, 35, withdrew from his scheduled welterweight bout against Michael Chandler on 29 June because of an injury.

The Dubliner insisted he would be back in the UFC soon, but president White says he is unsure if McGregor will return.

"Conor McGregor – maybe he'll fight again, maybe he won't. You never know with some of the guys that get to that level. You never know when you’re going to see them again," White said on the Jim Rome Show., external

McGregor was scheduled to return from a lengthy absence after breaking his leg in defeat by Dustin Poirier in July 2021.

The cancellation of a news conference in Dublin earlier this month sparked rumours McGregor has suffered a late setback. The former two-weight champion confirmed he had picked up the injury in the days before the media event.

It is not known how serious the injury is.

McGregor is in talks with the UFC about a contract extension as his current deal enters its final stages.

McGregor suffered broken toe before Chandler fight

Conor McGregor said a broken toe was the reason he had to withdraw from his UFC comeback fight against Michael Chandler in Las Vegas.

McGregor, 35, was scheduled to fight for the first time since breaking his leg in July 2021 in a welterweight bout against Chandler at UFC 303 on 29 June.

The former two-weight champion confirmed he had picked up the injury in the days before a planned media event was cancelled.

McGregor said on Instagram on Friday that the setback was "absolutely gut wrenching to take" but added he will only need "a few weeks" to recover.

"We had a lapse in concentration and engaged in a training session without wearing the full protective gear and I hit the toe off the elbow and broke the toe clean," explained the Irishman.

"I couldn't justify to my team, or fans, that I make the walk hindered again. This next walk has got to be, and it will be, 100 per cent Conor McGregor. The fans deserve it and we are getting close.

"I will get this back. I've got to. I've got two fights left on my contract."

McGregor is in talks with the UFC about a contract extension as his current deal enters its final stages.

The former featherweight champion has an overall MMA record of 22 wins and six losses.

But he has fought just four times since 2016 when he defeated Eddie Alvarez to become a two-weight UFC champion.
