LONDON: Activists campaigning for an independent Balochistan have launched a new phase of an advertising drive on London buses to raise awareness against alleged human rights abuses in the restive province by the Pakistan government.

The World Baloch Organisation said the latest drive will see more than 100 London buses with adverts carrying slogans like "Free Balochistan", "Save The Baloch People" and "Stop Enforced Disappearances" from this week.

I just saw a bus carrying an advert myself just now. Thoughts?

Good luck India. You are going to need lots of it

If I had to guess, the Indian establishment has nothing to lose by promoting such a sentiment, if they are indeed behind it. It's a piece of land not attached to India so there's little by way of collateral that will spill over to our side of the border.

Much like their strategy with Afghanistan, they want to open another front for Pakistan - it's a textbook maneuver.

Well, hope that goes well for you. If you agree that the average Brit could care less about the lyrics to God Save the Queen, I can assure they will not even give a second glance to some poster about an unheard of place called Balochistan.

I have also seen a few cabs promoting free Khalistan campaign. Looks like both India and Pakistan are trying to outmatch each other in terms of stupidity.

Look at this south Indians, your tax money is going towards creating problems in other countries instead of fixing polluted Delhi. Hopefully the ads were expensive.

Indians can't talk about Azad Kashmir ao they bring up Balochistan lol. When you can't win an argument, employ a distraction.

It's not me doing anything about Balochistan, I wish the region well. I'm just trying to second guess the tactics of the powers that be. Stop getting emotional.

And the typical Whataboutism (TM) to go with it.

Well let me help you with that. The powers that be ( not you personally) are wasting their time and money, as 99% of the people in Britain neither know, or care about Balochistan as they won't have even heard about it.

Ask some other British forum contributor and they'll tell you the same, it's not a dig at you so don't take it personally.

Hence, my initial point stands that there is nothing to lose at worst.

They're not, but are effectively peanuts for a nation's government.

I would rather feed a hungry monkey some peanuts at home than waste money on a campaign abroad which nobody cares about. But when a nation has excess money to burn and a population where everyone is fed and healthy, I don't see the harm in it I suppose.

How come you are so sure that this advert was paid by Indian govt?

the indians are opening an pandora box here, what will they do when separist parties from india want to do the same, there are many separatist parties in india dont have the funding...

This bogus is as stupid as free Kashmir placards we see in the west. Both paid and funded by foreign elements to achieve a non-realistic goal.

Unlike Baloch , there are 100000's of Kashmiris in the west and they make a significant population of uk Pakistanis .

Baloch are a small insignificant nation population wise living around many countries surrounding Pakistan they have no historical claim to anything even in balochistan most of their lands were taken from local Jadgal and sindh Hindu tribes

When Arabs invaded balochistan there were no Baloch but jats and meds ruled by Brahmins , Baloch came later on a small ruling warrior class of rind (Kurdish)origin from Syria Iraq area via Iran and then settled in Pakistan most of the tribes were actually Pashtuns tajiks and sindhis brahuis who became part of Baloch tribal structure infact 60/70% of marri tribe has Pashtun origin and the khetran tribe is majority jat saraiki origin .

Also most of the ruling rind class the true Baloch the sardars have abused the lower class in brutal wadera system of Baloch , result the masses who are dirt poor malnourished and have similar nomadic existence like Somalis , it is not fault of Pakistan government but these sardars . This brutal wadera system was even mentioned by the British before Pakistan even came to existence .

Poor Indians are clutching on straws

Baloch population is so small in balochistan , if Pakistan wanted it could wipe them out they are not good fighters like fata tribesmen or afghans who are beasts and brave in terms of warfare and Pakistan has pacified them .

That's interesting, I thought it was Indian sponsored thing but if what you are telling is indeed true than it's more about baloch genuinely asking for independence & let's not talk about original inhabitants debate as it's subjective to what time scale you are considering, they have been there for a considerable period of time and that makes it their land. Anyway, that poses another question, So just because baloch are less in numbers, they don't have the right to ask for freedom & everything can be dismissed stating Indian sponsored activities while kashmir moment is devoid of any involvement from Pakistan? Great logic right there. 👍 Sadly your staid argument fail to fly over the head of any person except pakistanis and the brainwashed kashmiris.

Anybody with any knowledge will tell you that most people reading the advert will think thats its some special offer for a promotion of a foreign branded toothpaste and even if by some amazing happening they did know where Baluchistan is, they couldn't care less.

If these things are so harmless, Pakistanis shouldn't care about them, right? So why do they? Something similar happened in Switzerland and the Pakistanis managed to get their knickers in a twist! If it's harmless, let it pass!

I don't know who's doing this, but clearly the Pakistanis are easily trolled.

Same way Indians get trolled by "Free Khalistan" banners.
