He looked to be an aggressive batsman who can hit the ball hard ,have to see him against the genuine pace but definitely someone to keep an eye on.

We have to see more of him in PSL3 if he is picked as he all ready looks to be better pick tha SAIFULLAH BANGASH or even MOHAMMAD RIZWAN.

His innings today won't have done any harm to any chances, given the PSL draft is tomorrow. He is in silver category.

The only thing which counts against him is his age- he is 28.

He's talented. Seems to have some good levers on him and not a bad timer of the ball. As mak pointed out the only thing standing in his way is his age.

multan or islu should pick him,Karachi has sangakara but he can be accommodated.

in t20 he can come as looked to be in good shape but he needs some consistent performances in national t20.
his today innings must have been seen by franchises.

how do u compare him with RIZWAN for psl,as RIZWAN has been poor so far in psl.

Looks to be a better bat than Rizwan, the latter is too fidgety and lacks stillness at the crease. He tries to play those innovative shots that he is simply not capable of playing. I've seen him countless times trying to ramp the ball with his eyes closed. And this is not mentioning Rizwans' ineptness against the spinners.

Perfect for Misbhah, he needs a keeper as well

Rizwan is poor. Has failed to deliver on so many occasions. It's only because he is very fit and a very good keeper that he has survived- would have been a good prospect when keepers weren't expected to bat (ie 50 years ago) but I don't rate his batting personally.

As for Gauhar, I didn't see him keep so can't comment on that but he looks a good batsman. Has a good range of shots and he can hit a long ball. Would pick him over Rizwan/Saifullah etc. on batting.

lolz MISBAH SHOULD GET HIM but he is under 30 so MISBAH would not be happy with that.

Lol don't forget this is the same Misbah who played Shadab, Rumman, Hussain Talat, Amad Butt and Asif Ali.

PZ are the real oldies.

his FC record his poor so as it looks he is stand and deliver type of player with no feet movement.

yes pesh beat it by margin with oldies and TTF but i have to explain how hussain talat and shadab got to play or u know ?
asif ali is his faisalabad teammate but he is not special at all and rumman has been picked for pak A before that and has been good t20 bowler.

also played Imran Khalid over Ghulam and Rafat over Talat untill the very end

Asif Ali is hardly a batsmen and is more there due to the wolves connection.

Credit it where its due on Shadab

Prospect for T20 only, he is too old and his stats aren't that good enough for other format.

Using that logic, he shouldn't have been picked for this tournament as his t20 stats aren't brilliant either.

Stats are useful but have to be seen in context and matched with a visual assessment of his ability.

The pick up off his legs at 00:50 is a lovely shot.

Good enough for Pakistan domestic team

The thing to watch in that video is how late he is able to play the reverse sweep. Doesn't get into position until well after the ball is bowled which is a useful skill to have.

Good hand-eye co-ordination.

Does seem to have preference for the leg side, however the shot at 0:31 WOW. Down the pitch to a pacer, fast bat speed, perfect timing and balance and poise after. It was made all the better since it was against Annu Alrounder Ali. :yk

Is the guy in his 60s?
He isn't fit nor is his keeping any better than Saifi's. The age factor is being considered as he is already 30 and no long term replacement for Saifi who is in his 30's himself.

I wouldn't mind seeing him in the T20I squad or as a backup keeper for the next 2-3 years, but he isn't a player which PK is going to get much out of. Seeing that Saifi seems to be going fine with his fitness and is the first name on the team sheet in every format.

As a T20 player Sarfraz is pretty poor. He hides when he bats and doesnt have the power to clear boundries on the bigger grounds. If this guy can hit 6's, then that is an improvement. None of the current PK WK's are suitable for modern T20 cricket.

I would rather see us introduce young blood in the T20 team but seeing there's no real options this guy deserves a go. But I don't see it happening until Safraz, god forbidding, gets injured.

Sarfraz is worse than Misbah as a batsman in all 3 formats and maybe a marginally superior captain. Has been a pretty rough trade deal in the last few months especially in tests.

But if you are captain in Pakistan PCB will treat you like a prince. Car, house, villa and a free ride in all 3 formats regardless if you are even qualified to play all 3 formats.

He should play no more than 1 format. Am entirely convinced he doesn’t even make the test team as captain or player, his tactics work in the other two formats generally but almost never in tests.

Hope this kid has a fantastic PSL a la Sharjeel in 2016 because performing On this platform is the fastest possible way to get noticed.

I'm afraid that I disagree. Misbah is a very underrated captain. Despite his cautious approach, I was more or less certain of victory with Misbah at the helm in a Test match at home.

Sarfraz may be on a similar captaincy level in ODI's, but Misbah is far superior in Tests.

Like you say, the batting is incomparable as Sarfraz can't even hit a barn door with a Banjo.

Decent little knock today with some good shots straight down the ground.

2 year ban it seems!

Lahore, 26 April 2019:

The Pakistan Cricket Board today fined Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) PKR100,000 for fielding an ineligible player Gohar Ali, who has been banned from participating in all PCB or city/district cricket association-organised events for two years.

The CAA had fielded Gohar Ali in their nine-wicket victory over Pakistan Navy in the Patron’s Trophy Grade-II opener at the UBL Sports Complex in Karachi from 14-16 April.

Following the conclusion of the match, Pakistan Navy had lodged a protest, complaining breach of 2(a) of the PCB Playing Conditions and Rules for Domestic Tournaments, which reads as: “A player shall be bonafide employee of such department/service organization or, if contracted, must have minimum one-year contract or seasonal contract i.e. 1 October 2017 to 30 April 2018. Such player shall not be the employee of any other organization whether playing in domestic cricket or no.”

The decision against CAA and Gohar Ali was announced today following a detailed enquiry in which it was proven that the player had accepted a CAA contract despite being a full-time employee of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police.

The PCB decision also means the nine points, which CAA had gained, have been awarded to Pakistan Navy, as per 5(b) of the PCB Playing Conditions and Rules for Domestic Tournaments, which reads as: “The team for which a player is in (a) above has played will be declared loser and full match points will be awarded to the opponent. The defaulter team will be allowed to play the remaining pool matches but would not be allowed to play in the next round/semi-final/final, even though it wins all remaining pool matches of the tournament.”

Not the same gauhar Ali. That gauhar Ali has regularly been playing in PCB tournaments and was even in PSL.
