Although I have great respect for Miandad absolutely don’t agree with him here. A non-performing captain cannot inspire the team and must go. True a wicket-keeper’s primary role is keeping but in the modern age keepers are expected to contribute something with the bat as well & more so if you are also the captain of the side. And it is not just the runs but the manner in which Sarfraz gets out (often soft dismissals) that leaves a lot to be desired. A captain needs to show greater responsibility and application with the bat.

But if Sarfaraz is one of those under-performing players then surely he should be got rid of, irrespective of the fact that he is from the same city as Miandad?

I just think he should be relieved of the captaincy and be allowed to focus on his game as a player alone for starters.
