Kabuli-Pulao-Feature-Image-480x270.jpg

Not Sold!

Its OK once in a lifetime but I don't agree with carrots and nuts going in with meat and rice, do me it doesn't mix.

I often eat Afghan dishes, Middle Eastern dishes, and Mexican dishes. My 3 favorite cuisines.

I am a big fan of these foods:

- Kabuli pulao with lamb shank and chana daal.

- Shrimp burrito bowl.

- Fish burrito.

- Chicken taco (halal of course).

- Chicken shawarma and beef shawarma; both wrap and with rice.

- Afghan kebabs.

- Ayran (Turkish drink).

Afghan cuisine is so underrated among the non desi people

I don't just like beef. I love beef. :inti

I used to think like you. But, after trying their kabuli pulao with lamb shank, chana daal, and their sauces, I started to like it.

Probably only rice-based dish where I don't mind carrots. LOL.

Kabuli Pulao with Chana Daal???

Kabuli Palao grows on you after a bit. Especially when you have it alongside chapli kebab and Afghan style curries.

yar honestly speaking i feel a bit of smell in Afghani food so generally i avoid such food... maybe they dont use much spices thats the reason why...
Lol... especially in sheep's meat...Their palaos like Bannu beef palao is quite tantalizing for taste buds.

Baobab Fruit Juice

Consumed by many in Africa and particularly by Gambian Muslims during Ramadhan, refreshing and tasty, some add too much extra sugar.

Deep fried marinated chicken. It's a South Indian thing.

I'm not really into South Indian food but this is actually delicious.
I haven't tried too much of their food. It's quite different to our style. Will look out for this dish if I see it on a menu somewhere.

Am suprised Thai doesn't a mention here.

Vesatile: Stews, Stir frys, curry's, grilled variety

Iskender Kebab

I don't like Doner but I love Iskender Kebab

Now we’re talking… I love both. I had this iskender kebab in Bursa but it was made a bit different, they layered it with cheese on a bed of Turkish bread. Amazing.. their red chutney is real special too.

Its different in Bursa compared to Iskanderun because of spices and one around Black sea is spicier but probably down South (Mersin, Osmaniye, Hatay etc) is the most Authentic taste wise.

Chettinad style gravies are similar to what you guys eat just a bit more spicy and have curry leaves.

Whats a "Zinger Burger"? Apparently its a major thing in Pakistan? How is it different to a normal burger?

If anyone comes to Dallas area definitely try out this place - Simply South, it’s easily the best vegetarian place in mid west and spicy.

Thai food in Thailand is off the charts..
The food at the night markets is something else...

My only issue is that I haven't been able to eat Thai Food in England because nothing here comes close to the real thing.

Did you travel down to South of Thailand which is majority Muslim and tasted their food or stuck to Bangkok? The Muslim food is lot spicier and flavor rich then North Thailand

South of Thailand and along the border of Cambodia is predominantly Cham Muslims visibly look different and their food is Phew....Spicey

LA has a huge Cham Muslim community and food is pretty good but not the same as native stuff

I agree with you about the quality of Thai food in the West

the combination ingredients is probably little difficult to find.

you need the combination of correct Chillies, Kaafir Lime leaves and correct basil. Of course properly fermented fish sauce

Started in Bangkok, moved to Chiangmai followed by Koh Samui.

The food in each place was out of this world, but Chang Mai was just something else.

My favourite Burmese dish, readily available everywhere but more so in Chang Mai, is Kow Sei... omg

^^
Spaghetti in a coconut based chicken broth, and you add all condiments including boiled egg, deep fried crunchie noodles. Spring onion, onions, and the the best part, dried shrimp chillies oil
