Don't normally care about these awards but this is well deserved. Phenomenal movie.

Your liking for this movie makes me puke and Musicals are usually the darling of Golden Gs , remember Chicago scoring many.

Happy for Ryan though, should had won a golden globe for Drive ,Casey looking good for the oscar as well.

Golden globes are more white than oscars, except for their token awards.

Why does it make you puke? This is the greatest musical ever made in my opinion. Superb movie. Easily in the top 3 of the year. And caseys performance in Manchester by the sea was easily the best of the year and you are right, he should get the oscar. Don't normally even watch these awards but la la land deserved all it got

JaDed Ryan was great in drive inagree but Colin firth rightfully won the golden globe and oscar in 2011 for the kings speech.

Since you liked it, I'll give it a try even if it is musical.

I am trusting your judgment aliasad. If It makes me puke, I'll hold you responsible.

The reason it makes me puke is that your hatred for bollywood musicals but liking for this one.

Im no fan of musicals i usually get bored but because of Ryan will catch this.

True for Colin Firth defn deserved it but Ryan wasn't even nominated for Drive, Blue Valentine also a very good movie and somehow his performance in that imo was better than Kings Speech anyhow thats me i prefer negative endings.

Not a fan of musicals other than Grease, and that too only because I liked the music the era was set in, but this one is getting great reviews so might give it some consideration.

Meh not a musical kinda guy, how is this different from Les Mis?

Musicals are my least favourite movie genre. However i still loved this because it's just an amazing movie. Les miserables isn't even in the same league

Ali you hypocrite :))) these awards are a big thing when his favourite movie gets recognition :yk3

Zootopia won the animated award, well deserved; such a beautiful movie although I liked Kubo and the two strings just as much which had a premise beyond the animated norm with dark and eri themes so perhaps it should have got the award for creativity by american standards and execution.

Why not have a golden globe best picture award for thriller, sci-fi etc not just drama and musicals/comedy since the award has become genre specific but for only two genre's :))

Happy for Emma Stone, one of my favourite actresses has been consistent for a long time now but always falls under the radar.

Great movie, I got around to watching it finally. Was emotional during the finishing stretch :( very upsetting. The plot was very simple to be fair but the execution was fantastic, one of the best musicals I have seen although Moulin Rouge is my favourite in this genre.

What did you think of it ?

I came across this today, it's another musical; seems like it could be decent, will be watching it soon hopefully. Not seen much of Gaga besides an episode on American Horror Story which was so disturbing but she came across pretty well so looks like she could have a knack for her new career

La La Land is definitely the best “live action” musical that I have seen, as in not animated - I would prefer The Lion King and the South Park movie if we were including all musicals here.

Stone deserved all of the plaudits and awards that she got for the film, nevertheless I felt that Gosling (a darn good actor) was the beating heart and it is unfortunate that he did not also collect the Oscar - particularly ahead of a very controversial figure in Affleck.

The South Park Movie definitely is one of the best "adult" musicals out there, only one that can match and in some moments even surpass it is Tenacious D in the Pick of Destiny. Highly recommended. Here's the trailer just so you know what to expect

Casey afflecks performance in Manchester by the sea was just undeniably better

Check out this guy.

I still haven't watched it actually, I saw the first five minutes and it looked ok, but never got back to it. Seeing this thread bumped just reminded me of it.

I find Ryan Gosling really off-putting as an actor, he looks like a good looking version of Harry Kane which is :31:

I watched the movie when it released, never expected it to be such a hit thought i would be a disaster.
