I was at my local sports shop when one of my team mate told me that nearby cricket store got some new Gray Nicolls bats and the pricing on them is unbelievable, so hearing this I couldn't stop myself so I went to that store with him.
So that store which got new Gray Nicolls at unbelievable price is Hagee Sports in Mississauga, Canada! The pricing on his Gray Nicolls stuff (bats, pads, gloves and shoes!) is seriously very very good! I firmly believe it is bargain and life time deal, to be honest, I still can't believe I got it for that price. I paid $345 CAD for my Gray Nicolls Legend! As I said if I had ordered from UK it would have ended me at $550ish including all charges but the price on his Gray Nicolls selection is very very good! They are tempting that they make you buy all of the bats if you have money
So lets not waste time and coming to the bat. The weight of the bat is 2.85 lbs and believe me the pickup on the bat is amazing. Usually pickup and balance gets better when you double grip it but I'm not trying to be stupid but I for some reason find the balance and pickup to be better with single grip but I have double gripped it because I prefer a bit thick handles but I will get used to it as I use it.
The bat was slightly dry when I bought it so a mate oiled and applied a toe guard for me. I don't know how to check the ping off the bat with bouncing the ball, I much rather prefer playing in nets with the bat but testing the ping by bouncing Dukes genuine leather ball I can say the bat does indeed flies however it needs to be knocked because seam marks are visible.
The edge size is close to 39mm mark and for 2.85 I believe it is quite meaty stick! The sweetspot might look high but to me in reality it looks a bit lowish and the bat is perfectly balanced.
Once again I would praise Fahad Bhai at Hagee Sports for his brilliant service, the guy is so down to earth that he allowed me and my friend spend good time to check out the bats and choose the best ones. If anyone in Canada is looking to buy stuff I will highly recommend them to buy from Hagee Sports there product, quality and service is the best I have seen when dealing in person.
This bat is my first bat (technically second but I don't consider first purchase because I didn't knew about bats then) which I bought after feeling, all of my other bats were bought over pictures and were blind purchase!
Overall I'm quite happy with the bat and softs!

Since I like to have complete sets I also bought Gray Nicolls Legend pads and gloves. I will briefly talk about the pads and gloves too! Since the gloves are traditional style they are meant to be stiff but you hardly feel any stiffness in these gloves, they have very good fitting and very nice comfortable feel.
As far pads are concerned they might look heavy in pictures but once you wear them they are very light, I have 9 pairs of pads and believe me or not these pads are most comfortable pads. The fitting and everything is brilliant!
I never rated Gray Nicolls softs very high but these Legend pads and gloves are something special
