I think Fleming played 2000 final , I will add waqar to the list , great odi bowler to never play any icc final.

This thread is a bit ironic because PP posters only regard cricketers as great if they win an ICC knockout tournament

So how can Kallis, Smith, Donald, Pollock, AB De Villiers, Steyn, Boucher be regarded as great if they did not even play in an ICC tournament

They all are test atg and Donald , ABD, Pollock are odi atg also. Boucher is neither.

I think he didnt. The senior salim uncle palyed that game i guess.

It was shocking how Yousuf was dropped after just 4 games. He was the highest averaging Pakistani in that tournament, despite coming late in order (no 6), scoring 161 runs in four innings, averaging 53.66.

His only failure came when he was runned out after a mix-up with Inzi.

Wasim did a lot of suspicious stuff in that tournament. Not least winning the toss on green pitch and batting first

SA won 98 champion trophy finals. Isn't it? So kallis and Donald has played the finals and won.

Your love for National treasure has no bounds, Or you got carried away a little here.

May be both, but I can explain.

For best part of a decade this guy MoHa, in PAK team -

1. Had been only player to be automatic choice in all 3 formats
2. Only guy who has opened with bat & ball
3. Only guy who has been picked on triple skills - either with bat or ball & for a good period both
4. Among few players who had Category A contract for almost a decade
5. Fields at 1st slip in Test, extra cover in LOs - 2 most prestigious fielding spots in a game of cricket
6. Had been Captain of a WC team
7. Among few players, who could choose his batting spot
8. Only player in the game, who had been called for chucking, took his time for reassessment & did that on his own comfort and has make a successful come back in the team with a remodeled action on his reputation, more than anything else (you can check stats).

Now, as I mentioned many times - PAK is a former World Champion in both shorter formats, was World's No. 1 Test team & still holds a positive W/L in Test, ODI & T20. And, this guy is given the legend status by such a country with 70 years of glorious cricket past - he must have to be one of the greats of the game.

You can't blame me, if PAK lowers their standard in this regard - this guy is given the status what SRL did to Sanath or India to Kapil ......... I am just stating the obvious. If PAK is a great cricket nation, MoHa has to be one of the greats of the game, who didn't ever play in an ICC final.

He has the chance to rewrite history though in less than 24 hours time.

Yousuf was injured, not dropped

What are you talking about, Yousaf was injured a few games in, hence he didn't feature in the tournament after that.

Even before the CT final - National Treasure played in the 2007 world T20 final

My apologizes to the great - now I can recall. Those days, he was a tail-ender who could bowl a bit, hence couldn't recall. Either way, he is out of a list that has Zaheer Abbas, Abdul Qadir, Majid Khan, Waquar, MoYo & Saeed Ajmal - only from PAK.

Richard Hadlee and Martin Crowe I believe. Abdul Qadir who was a great I believe also did not play a major ICC final.

Also Saeed Ajmal played in the 2009 World T20 final that we won - he even bowled out all his overs as SL were restricted to 138/6.

Clive Rice. A very good all rounder who never got to play much if any international Cricket for South Africa. He was one of the best all rounders of the golden 1970's and 1980's era. Clive would have been spoken in the same category as Imran, Kapil, Botham and Hadlee had he been an international.

2nd mistake - can't recall much of that T20 final.

No worries - even I struggle to remember T20 matches and who played what in that format.

ODI World Cup and CT are still the premier events IMO.

Imran farhat, Ahmed shehzad, umar akmal, kamran akmal, rafatullah mohmand, faisal iqbal

Indeed. Was very harsh on moyo to be dropped.
