Asking video game companies to pay him too for using his name in games and getting offers for TV ads too

He is such a massive idiot. Needs to be beaten to a pulp and thrown into the jail.

The fact that he is still walking around a free man is ridiculous.

TTP terrorists are walking free because of our ridiculous courts and you are talking about gullu butt. Our courts can't even throw terrorists into courts

Is there no "Son of Sam" kind of law in our countries to prevent criminals from gaining monetary benefits from their crimes??

IF people are making money off his name then he has the right to demand the cut. Nothing wrong with it. His career is all set now, probably this entire event is the highest point of his life. If he goes to jail for few month for vandalization then post that he has some future in politics as well

This is the problem that was answered by the Sonof Sam law, criminals should not be allowed to profit from their crimes.
It becomes a mockery of the justice system.
The legal system in our countries need to have similar laws to prevent criminals earning from the crimes like this.

no, what makes a mockery of justice is when you give disproportionate punishment, or punish them twice. The law gives jail and/or fine for vandalism. The punishment ends there. After that if Gullu acts in a movie, or joins a reality show, it is his right and court should not take that away from him.

If a criminal is making money based on the crimes committed despite the normal sentences by the law,
Then the concept of punishment of crime has failed.
Punishment should be large enough to deter future criminals, thats what "Son of Sam law" does.

A person commits a crime, and he gets punished. But is still able to profit based on that crime, thats not justice.
Legal system should be able to prevent criminals profiteering from their crimes in anyway.

Gullu acting in a movie, is a separate thing, that is his acting skill.
But him making money by talking about his crimes, is a mockery of justice.

If the criminal got (in)famous because of the crime, that is not his fault. it is the fault of the society where there is nothing like bad publicity and people love to know more about celebrities (even criminal ones). why punish the criminal for this flaw in the society? he has served his punishment, and now he is free to live how he wants. eg, The Wolf of Wall Street guy. He served for his crimes, now if he gets publicity and people want to make a movie on his life, that is a problem of the society, not his fault.

just looked up for this son of sam law that you were talking about and found that it has been struck down by the US Supreme Court. so finally justice is upheld. and you need to update your knowledge.

The point of the judicial system is to be a deterrent against people doing crimes. When you can make money off his crime, there is a very real incentive to commit a crime because you know that, even if you get caught and all the money you gained is taken away, you will be able to make legal money by telling your story. Forbidding people making money against their crimes is not a way to shut them up, they can do as many interviews as they want as long as they don't get a monetary compensation for it. Nobody should/does care about ethics and morals, that's not a court's role. Any pragmatic person will tell you that these laws should exist.
