Haider Ali - T20I Performance Watch

Really sad to see, it was just two or three weeks ago everyone was happy including me when he played that 5 ball or something inning with continuous boundaries.

People were hoping the innings sets him in the right track and gives him confidence heading into the World Cup.

Crazy stuff.

I hope Ifthikhar Ahmed takes notes from Haider all’s Inning! Haider played an inning of what fraud Chacha dreams of every day!

He has had a tough time at it for sure but I still have hope for him. He is not another Umar Akmal. And today's innings showed everyone what he is capable of. Hopefully he can string together more consistent performances in domestic cricket and begin to realize his true potential.

Well guess what

The sack of potato’s came in and knocked out Babar Azam from the tournament :ROFLMAO:

Just hope this mediocre waste of space doesn’t end up playing for Pakistan based on this fluke.

Someone like Irfan Khan Niazi deserves a shout rather than this tried and tested failure.

Pakistan still need someone batting at 5 and 6 who is able to increase the run rate.

Not that Haidar is the answer given his consecutive failures, but credit to him for closing the game.

lol The sack of patatoes will go back to his barren run of low scores again. Even in this innings he was swinging wildly and bowl was missing stumps by a whisker

Tbf at least today he stood and batted for his side considering Hales, Shadab and Agha just added nothing of value

He’s been batting well recently.

I don't get why the conversation around every player has to revolve around them finally getting to the Pakistan team or not? Why can't we just enjoy cricket, performances and moments in a vacuum without always thinking about what they we can get out of them?

I don't care if Haider Ali doesn't end up being successful on the international level. I will still like him if he keeps playing entertaining innings like these in the PSL. Not everyone is destined to be successful on the international level....very few are. Is being a cult hero that is adored by the fans of a particular city really that bad?

I just hope we start enjoying PSL more for what it is and the mainstream entertainment value it brings, and focus a bit less on how this player or that player can help the national side.

Nice little fluke today, but perhaps he deserved it after how much he has embarrassed himself over the last few years.

So after being a consistent failure he performs in one game this season in psl and deserves intl selection.

He's already played 35 games for Pakistan and was nothing buy

Agreed and its sad to see how many posters are so vicious even when a player does well.

T20 is entertainment cricket and T20 leagues around the world are basically glorified domestic matches. Just enjoy the game and don't live & die by every performance.

It was just a fluke innings. will not see such inning on constant basis else he would have been in the team already. Haider is a careless guy and he lacks desire to get back into the national team.

Haider Ali, who is only 23 years old but possesses ample experience and currently appears to be settling in well as a late-order batsman, could potentially become Haider Ali 2.0, akin to how Hafeez resurrected his career as a middle-order batsman. In fact, when he's batting late in the innings, scoring fifties consistently isn't necessarily what's required; instead, impactful cameo innings can be more effective in the shorter format

Imagine including Imad, Haider, and Ifti, all three batsmen capable of finishing the game for Pakistan. Heck I don't mind throwing in Azam khan into the mix. I know, I know, international cricket is different; these guys are more likely to fail, but thus far, we are witnessing really good finishers with potential. With the emergence of Saim as a very adept and intelligent bowler with a plethora of variations, we can afford to pack our T20 team with hard hitting batsmen. I believe things may not appear as bleak as it may seem.

POTW. Not everyone has to play for Pakistan because they performed in a few matches in the PSL

Haider looked good because he was looking at Imad and his calm and composed inning at the other end. Imad supported Haider so it boosted his confidence. Most of the shots were hit on some bad deliveries.

Haider Ali is the only batter to hit a fifty at Number 7 in a successful PSL chase.

Really hope Haider doesn’t end up making the T20I team based on this fluke innings.

A consistent performer like Irfan Niazi might get overlooked over all the noise that is being made for this tulla.

Chacha does this all the time and he gets selected . It’s okay if he gets selected at least he knows how to finish

Chacha is barely surviving in the team I agree, however Haider is downgrade in every sense of the word.

Timely innings for him. As disappointing as he has been over the last two years, this innings, even if a fluke, gives him a real opening to make a comeback. Pakistan badly needs a number 6 power hitter and there aren't many of them around who have not already been tested and failed. Haider has not done much and would be very very lucky to make the cut based on this innings but sometimes that is all you need. The main issues with him in the past were him not being given a clear role and his own impulsive nature. At 6, with carte blanche, who knows. Given the paucity of options for this particular role it might not be a bad bet.

Everything the bowlers bowled to him were on his pads or down the leg side.
And that my fellow poster is the whole issue. Such freebies wont be served at the international stage. All his hits were to the leg side. Even before hitting he was already set up for a leg side hit.

Normal business resumes for the flukey hacker. Time to end the bhangra.

Always was and always will be rubbish. Zalmi bowlers should be ashamed of not being able to bowl a single half-decent delivery to him.
