Happy holi

Holi is definitely the most well known South Asian event in the West (Eid ofcourse but its only Muslims who celebratw)

Indian community has done well to make it a hit in the US and give it positive vibes

I am totally mad right now..I'm in Tamil nadu and nobody and I mean nobody here is celebrating it..

This is my favourite festival and I can not even enjoy Holi here..even Pakistan has declared a public holiday for Holi..but no..not in Tamil nadu.

Even in bangalore no one celebrated holi, it wasn't even a holiday

It is celebrated in Hyderabad schools have holiday since yesterday and my hubby had a holiday too for Holi yesterday. Everyone I know here celebrates Holi

Only the rich and the poor celebrate Holi the way it should be. Middle class people these days are so boring. :(

Happy holi guys...

Phew took bath thrice after the epic colour battle among my friends.
Had so much fun. :)

Lots of Indian festivals are localised to certain regions in India . Most of the so called Indian festivals you hear about are mostly the ones from northern India.

In Pakistan it happens to be that even Muslim youth have started celebrating the festival of Holi because its just so much fun. My friends celebrated it last night. Was a lot of fun.

Yeah, for the past few years universities in Khi have started having holi festivals.

I thought they didn't call it as Holi but Rung.. no?

Happy Holi to all those celebrating.

Keep the clothes coloured and booze flowing :afridi

Holi is very very fun.

Celebrated it a few times.

Shame its not celebrated in TN.

Not celebrated in Andhra either. Thanks to the media and the influx of northies, now everyone knows what it is and celebrated now.

When I was young , I thought holy was a Muslim festival. Only Hindi speakers celebrated it in some parts of the city. :))

In Cape Town we have a similar celebration

It's a day when we forget about politics and enjoy and be happy

It's called the colour run

Holi isn't a south Indian festival. ..in South India, it is celebrated in the sate of telangana only. .and in other parts of South, only Marwadis and North Indian people celebrate it...we didn't even know about it...basically it's super popular in all of india except south India. ..

Happy Holi to all North Indians :hamster:..

Wish we had it too . ;-)

Wow that looks seriously good.Brij holi is easily the best out there.

It was. Best part for me was thousands out in streets, dancing and hugging strangers, forgetting all those caste/status/race divisions. Really beautiful to see.

Happy Holi to our Hindu PPers

Thanks brother
Holi is celebrated by everyone in Bharat. All Sikhs celebrate it and many Muslims also participate happily. Don’t go by the news channels videos of wannabe maulanas talking about not playing Holi. In our country Hindus join on Eid celebrations and Muslims join in Holinand other Sanatani festivals

I don't extend any good wishes to these religion hoppers. They should man up and accept a belief.

I dont think the ind Muslims have much choice or say in the matter by the looks of it…they’ll do as they told

Ones that slap elderly muslims on train, ones that demolish property ad hoc

That’s not what gentle people do.
These are big countries. Odd and undesirable things happen. We should condemn them wholeheartedly but not blow things out of proportion. They don’t represent regular life. Are you perfect or is the world around you perfect? Do things like this not happen in other parts of the world?

They can be humanist. It is my human rights to dislike them.

You have but it makes you look small. You’re better than that brother. Let people enjoy festivals, it shouldn’t bother you. Christmas is becoming big in Bharat due to Western influence and it’s ok. I have also decorated my home with Christmas tree and attended parties. It doesn’t make a bad Hindu.

Don't derailed this thread .if you wish then ok otherwise no need to talk about our festival

:kp

They happen everywhere..sadly the weak will always suffer..regardless of color

The decent people suffer everywhere.
When riots happen, the worst of the people go on a rampage looting and killing people for fun. Whichever community they belong to, they don’t belong to me.
