Wonderful news and about time he got proper care.

Will believe it when I see it. and that too for more than one match.

I agree but the significance of this news cannot be diminished.

This is the first time he is receiving proper professional help. If he does not get back on target now then I am afraid its not good.

Insh'Allah he doesn't get injured anymore.

Would love to see some classy drives against top notch fiery pacers like Anwar Ali, Sohail Tannu, Aizaz Cheema.

Then hopefully he can graduate to bigger and badder bowlers.

Hope he gets to full fitness soon inshallah.

Gotta love his perfectly-timed classy drives.

Harry isn't a T20 batsman, but I'll be happy if he gets some game time.

Better would be if he manages to play a few matches in the ongoing domestic season.

Doubt he can get fit enough in time for that.

2017 is a very important year for Haris. He needs to re-gain fitness and play high-level cricket to get back into the fold. Should look to play some Grade II cricket if possible since the FC season will start towards the end of the year.

Hopefully he can be fit for the tour of WI, we'll need a replacement for Misbah and he IS the perfect one in my opinion!

Not an ideal T20 bat.

He should be cared for and sent on important Test and ODI tours!!

Can't stress for the importance of Haris Sohail being fit for WC19.

Babar and Haris will take no.3 and no.4. This will be a world class middle order.

A fully fit and firing Haris Sohail can be an asset for Pakistan cricket.

However it's a concern that he keeps picking up injury after injury, especially as a batsman.

I wouldn't be surprised if it was Zalmi who were funding his treatment!

Fantastic news. Should be in the test team after Misbah retires. And there on continue his career. Can easily play 10 years or so.

Him and Fawad are the two most needed batsmen in the Test team and can be the two most important players.

Clearly, Fawad is out favour, so it is great to see Haris recovering.

MashaAllah i had given up. So he is only a couple of months away!
What happened to the story about him needing to be further operated on.

He is good enough for T20's in place of Malik.

He has shown he can hit big as well as find the boundaries.

He already bats at a SR of 85+ in ODI's so no reason why he transform his game for T20's.

Really happy to hear this, he's going to beef up our middle order nicely.

he got a good continuous run since the NZL tour of UAE until he got injured just before the SRL tour starts...He did withstand the tough drills of Waqar regime, dubious about people complaining his fitness too much.. Hope he breaks the assumptions of many on his fitness with a good positive comeback..

Thank you.
Misbah can definitely play that series then as it will be soon after PSL. So no chance of him in the test squad.

I think Misbah is going to retire after the Australia tour. He already wanted to retire after last years series against England but he kept going as throwing a new captain into English and Australian conditions would've been harsh. I doubt he wants to continue any longer.

England.
2nd surgery - no, not at the moment
training, yes with Crystal Palace FC

Did the PCB arrange for him to be there, or was this arrangement with Crystal Palace done via someone else? I assume the PCB is paying for it?

What is/was the problem ?

A. Surgery went wrong ?

B. Rehab went wrong ?

He was about to go for corrective surgery. What happened about that ?

should only play PSL T20z, otherwise he shld be held for 50 over cricket and tests.... great news for pak... given he is fit and finds form soon, we can achieve the following :P

1) Get rid of the useless , total overseas failure haffez
2) Get the 6th/7th bowling option and have Nawaz/Imad playing for 1 spot with a place for seaming allrounder
3) Have a classy left hander in middle order to add variety..

Good news if he will be back again and fit, he needs to be brought back slowly so that he can regain full fitness and match practice and not break down again. Lets see how PCB manages the player going forward.

So what exactly is his status right now? Going for another surgery or what?

Isn't a T20 player should rather focus on working to get super fit than he has ever been in his career so far. Turning 28 soon so needs to work on getting back to 4 day and 50 overs cricket.

His and Sohaib Maqsood's fitness being batsmen have always been atrocious given their short international careers till date.

Sorry for saying this, but I don't get all the hype surrounding him...the guy has played a handful of games only and I don't remember him being THAT impressive.

Did you ever watch him play?? Looks comfortable against every type of bowling, ODI average of 43 (early days) and a List A average of 40, FC average of 52, you get the hype now??

He was the top scorer for sialkot in a few t20 tournaments a few years ago as an opener.

Yes I have seem him play, he's good but I wasn't blown away or anything. His technique seemed pretty ordinary. The way he's talked about here it's like he's the next Inzi or Miandad. Let him come back and prove himself. We as a country need to move on from this savior mentality we possess when we fixate on individuals instead of investing in system reforms that are actually needed at every level.

My thoughts exactly. It's even more difficult to perform at the same levels after injury: ask ay sportsman that. And if we are talking about numbers: Fawad Alam has a FC average of 56 and List average of 47, yet there's more of a hype surrounding Haris (not that I have anything for/against the two batsmen; Pakistani batsman should be seleced on merit).

The way I see it, Haris needs to go through the same regime as any other batsman and that's through domestic cricket. You can't put him back into the deep end as early as March 2017, only to find he's still rusty. A bad series for him could further jepordise his career as it has so many batsman. Get him in the team if he deserves it, and if he doesn't then I'm sure we can a handful of players to replace YK & Misbah.

He is able to deliver 40+ avg at 80+ SR without slogging like Babar. This skill is priceless. He has temperament up to his eyeballs.

He better be fit soon. We need him badly in LOIs. He was the perfect number 3. Solid technique and good temperament. Can easily have a career with 40+ average at 85+ SR.

Won't play at number 3 any longer. Babar has made that spot his own. Haris will have to start from the bench and hope Malik gets dropped so that he can slot in at 4 or 5.

Yes, I wouldn't mind him at 4 either. Sharjeel, Azhar, Babar, Haris and Sarfraz is a solid top 5.

I can't believe people are mentioning Harris Sohail and Fawad in same sentence. Both are very different players.

Good news
Can't wait to see him back in Pakistan colours.

Brings a lot of stability and assurance to the line up.

Would be huge for the future of the Test and ODI team if he can come back healthy.

Nice.

It's unfortunate he hasn't been healthy. Our ODI and test squads need someone like him in the middle order.

Let's see if he still has it.

He's doing strength exercises and training on the knee.

Haris Sohail is must in our loi side because he is so important for stablising our middle order... He is in my opinion the backbone of our batting along with babar azam and we should also try to bring sohaib maqsood into the side if he has improved his game... We are almost close to completing a perfect loi side.....
1: Sharjeel Khan
2: Fakhar Zaman
3: Babar Azam
4: Haris Sohail
5: Sohaib Maqsood
6: Sarfraz Ahmad(Captain)
7: Imad Wasim
8: Amir Yamin/Amad Butt
9: Muhammad Amir
10: Junaid Khan/Wahab Riaz
11: Muhammad Asghar/Muhammad Irfan(Leg Spinner)
Bench strength is also getting stronger with exciting young prospects and also some good batsmen coming up and with PSL going strength by strength we will get good players hopefully..... Play with attacking mindset without fear of losing....

Yes, but he was doing that when we saw pictures of those big weights in the gym about 8 monthhs ago.
You got anything more than that?

Hopefully he comes back from injury, and this should be the playing eleven:

1-Azhar ALi
2-Sami Aslam
3-Babar Azam
4-Haris sohail
5-Asad Shafiq
6-Sharjeel Khan/Mohammad Rizwan
7-Sarfaraz Ahmad
8-Sohail Khan
9-Wahab Riaz
10-Mohammad Amir
11-Yasir Shah

Doing it properly now and with a proper training plan and proper supervision. NOT just left to his own devices by PCB.

Has he still not recovered from the injury yet? Haven't seen him in PSL.

Played the first two Zalmi games but then got dropped and hasn't featured since. Maqsood has been hogging his spot with zero performance for the last six matches. Hopefully better sense prevails and he is played in the next match.

maqsood has been useless but i see why he is picked. Given the way Zalmi are set up they need a basher down below and thats not Haris.

Maybe he can come in from professor though

I think he was never a T20 batsmen as he can't hit big and his failures in PSL should not be considered that he will fail in other formats too.Still can be good ODI and Test player.

firstly t20s is not his strongest format as can be seen from his domestic strike rate of 106, but avg is 40

secondly he came back after 2 years so give him sometime

thirdly he only played 2 innings and in one remained not out .. so we cant say he failed completely .. 2 innings are nothing

He only just returned after a long time off. Have to give him time to establish himself.

Don't think he is a T20 player anyways, but at the same time don't think we have seen what he is capable of yet either.

Should not be fast-tracked back into the team. Needs to play F/C first, he's clearly very rusty and didn't play as much in the PSL as I hoped. He's not an urgent need anyway, Babar, Malik, Sarfraz have the middle-order covered and he is not an option for the lower-order.
