Has the world ever been at peace?

Seems that periods of peace are exception and not the norm - can we ever have world peace?

Why should people stop having babies just because some person think that it would lead to further crisis in world?

Human quickly rose to the top of food chain...so human to human violence was considerably low during hunter and gathers era.

Though they killed big animals all over the planet.

And after ww2 world is by and large living in peace...so current era could very well be the most peaceful ever.

People will do what they want. But that will mean greater competition for shrinking resources, especially as climate change kicks in, and that will lead to war.

Well seems that since WW2, nothing at that scale has happened as world pop is growing.

Main thing is that man by nature is jealous - and when you are jealous, you will have conflict

Agree with this. Growing up, there were a lot of floods in Pakistan every year and I remember my mum telling me that once Humans start killing the planet (with overpopulation, I suppose), mother nature takes control.

Humans are capable of peace but also capable of war. The problem seems to be the powerful ones are the ones who want war.

The worst is yet to come imo.

I read that some social geographers think that the world population will top out at 11 billion. People in the developing world will stop having so many kids as their standard of living rises.

Peak oil is a problem but we also have the opportunity to switch to green tech such as HEP, tidal power and solar. Hot countries may become more successful as battery exporters.
