I think Pakistan and Australia have the best pace bowling attacks in the world at the moment. Australia's two best bowlers are Starc and Hazlewood. Pakistan's two best bowlers are Amir and Hasan. Starc is better than Amir. But who do you think is better? Hasan Ali or Josh Hazlewood?

Hasan over hazle.

Starc and Hazle are better than Hasan and Amir in bilaterals, but Amir try hards during crucial matches, and we all know what Hasan can do on his day

Pakistani bowlers are the most destructive and lethal on their day. No other bowlers from any other country can run through a batting lineup like they can.

Which is why Amir and Hasan >>>>> Rabada, Starc, Hazelwood, Bumrah etc

And yet Hazlewood is the world cup winner.

Why? Hazlewood was part of Australian team when they won the 2015 world cup. He is right.

Not disputing the WC Hazlewood fact (He is one) but how many WCs have Amir and Hasan featured in (since the comeback and debut) to bring up that WC analogy between these bowlers ?? The only World Tournament Australia and Pakistan featured in since 2016 has been CT and we all know how that turned out.....For both teams :P

Amir has won a world t20 and played a crucial role in it.

And was Hazlewood playing back then ?? A valid comparison can only be made when we take into account how 2 bowlers fared when playing in the same era. Pre-2011 LOI were extremely different mate.....

Not really sure about t20s being different back then. You can pull out the scorecards from 2010 and compare them to t20i scorecards of 2017. Same range of scores.

My point was that If hazelwood has won a world event, Amir has won 2.

Going by the performances that have been put up by both Hassan is ahead in the numbers and is without a doubt the best fast bowler in the world when it comes to bowling in the middle overs. But despite this I am tempted to say Hazlewood is better. Hazlewood I feel is just a lot more dangerous bowler, he is very good up front with the new ball and his tall height and the awkward bounce he generates makes it difficult to handle him at any stage of the innings.

In tests it is not even a comparison.

According to me skills and mentoring available in Pakistan for bowler is above australia
Pak bowlers Reverse ball very early there is definitely a secret behind it
Which not many countries knows till now

Hasan Ali had an extremely fast start.A dream start. It's not even a year since his debut.

Comparisons to Hazlewod is laughable at this point.

Hasan Ali is talented. But Hazlewood is a better bowler IMO.

Give it 1 more year and if Hasan can maintain this, then he is a better bowler than hazlewood.

Overall Hazlewood because he's been a gun in both ODIs and tests. But for ODIs, based on current form I'd pick Hassan as the better bowler. Tests there isn't really a comparison

I am waiting for Hasan Ali vs Marshall or Mcgrath comparision. Not too long ago people compared Amir with Wasim.

Hasan Ali is already a GOAT :P , on a serious note love seeing his enthusiasm for the game, the smile when Rameez called him the future of pakistan cricket said it all.

In ODI cricket he is de facto Númeor Uno.

The best and I ain't talking about ICC joke rankings :jadeja

Test cricket is a different ball game tho :waqar

Hasan Ali vs XYZ has become tiresome to be honest. Yah, A Pakistani bowler reached to ranked one after long time so excitement is fine, but it's getting boring with all these Hasan Ali vs XYZ threads. Let him do well for few years and you don't need to start 10 threads of comparing a bowler with such a short track record with every other bowler.

Hasan is already better. There’s a reason why he’s ranked the #1 bowler. If Hasan gets a fiver against the Kiwis, it will make him ever better.

Hasan Ali is a top ODI bowler but a comparison with Hazelwood who's probably the best pacer in cricket overall atm is unwarranted and way too soon.

Starc, Hazelwood, Boult and Rabada are bowlers who are at par with Hasan in ODIs and lightyears ahead in tests, so none should be compared with someone with a low sample size.

That is pushing things too far...

You can't compare a Test match bowler against an ODI bowler. Test match wickets are not so easy to get.
Till Hasan Ali isn't a proved Test match bowler he can't compete with Josh Hazlewood.

Hasan has had a meteoric rise to the top to be honest. Possibly the most impressive in the last decade for sure. Having said that, he will have to play for a year or two to establish himself as a bonafide world-class fast bowler. A stage Hazlewood has come through already. I'm confident Hasan can achieve further success though. Such an energetic individual.

Hasan Ali is a fantastic bowler but we don't need to compare him with every single bowler. Just let him perform. If he keeps up his current performances, no one will question his ranking.

I am surprised to see that Hazlewood hasn't played that many ODI's. In fact, their ODI stats are pretty comparable since both have less than 50 ODI's.

Hasan clearly trumps Hazlewood so far on naked ODI stats. Way better strike-rate, average, and got nearly as many wickets in many fewer games. But early days for them both in ODI's

Hazlewood is currently a better test bowler than Hasan.

Josh proving his metal on subcontinent.

He’s a playa

This aged well.

I'm sorry didn't know where to ask this..why is the Aus vs SAF match thread locked?

I recollect that there is thread "Hasan Ali vs Ben Stokes" too as per Mammon. So we can give a rest to this thread.
