Islamabad United fast bowler Hassan Ali will be leaving the HBL PSL Bubble in Abu Dhabi and returning to Pakistan due to family concerns. He will be unavailable to the franchise for the remainder of the tournament.

Regarding the situation Hassan Ali said, “I want to say to all Islamabad United fans, unfortunately due to personal reasons I have to pull out of the remaining PSL matches. Some things are more important than cricket and nothing is more important than family. I am thankful to Islamabad United for their support and understanding. This team truly is a family that stands with you through thick and thin. I wish the team very best of luck for the remaining PSL matches.”

Islamabad United Owner, Ali Naqvi, said, “Unfortunately Hassan will be leaving the group in the coming days. He has been a great leader and performer for the franchise this season, but we have always had the belief in Islamabad United that our professional commitments are subservient to our personal commitments. When we say we are a family we truly mean it, and nothing is more important to a person than his family. We wish Hassan the best of luck, and we wholeheartedly support this decision.”

Islamabad United Captain, Shadab Khan, said, “We understand Hassan’s situation right now, family always comes first. We wish Hassan the very best of luck. He will obviously be a huge loss to our team and the tournament, but some things are more important than cricket. At Islamabad United we have always looked after each other like a family and we will continue to do so.”

What were the reasons? They have to be more specific. The PCB moved heaven and earth to get the PSL rolling in the UAE and a player decides to drop out with an unclear personal reason? Unacceptable and Unprofessional

Not everything is for public consumption. If the owner and franchise have signed off it must be something serious.

Family definitely comes first, hope everything gets fine.

Wish him good luck, If Hasan Ali wants to keep something private that's his right.

Man, what really bothers me is the fact that islamabad had the chance to get rashid khan in the drafts.

Now we are without two of our main players and knowing shadab, who breaks down after two or three games, we could be without three of our majn players.

How is it unclear ? It says “ family reason “ and that is sufficient , why does an explanation need to be given so that every Tom dick and Harry can read . It’s also not unprofessional, what would have been unprofessional is if they pressurised him to stay when his mind is occupied with other serious issues.

If you had to be off work for a family issue , would you like the management to email the whole department and your colleagues citing the reason ??
Cricketers are humans . Chill mate

It's for family reasons, have some respect. And it's a god damn T20 league and is pretty irrelevant.

Best of luck to Hasan Ali and hope everything is good.

At least worrying about his workload becomes less of a concern now and hopefully he will be good to go for the England tour.

Just because its unclear to an irrelevant person in Hassan Alis life doesn't mean its unprofessional. What is this fascination with certain Pakistanis and wanting everyone's private life out in the open. Its called a private life for a reason and as long as their employers are aware i.e the PCB then no one else matters.
Shameful comments.

All the best to him.

Must be serious for a committed cricketer like Hassan to leave during a tournament.

No replacement for Hassan but guess too late to fly some one in now given Abu Dhabi quarantine requirements.

Bro, you need to re-read your post.. Family comes first, and he does not owe you a reason why he will be missing PSL, especially when it is family related.

After consultations with his family Hassan Ali has decided to stay back in the UAE and continue to play the HBL PSL 6. The Islamabad United fast bowler was supposed to take a flight back to Pakistan on the evening of June 13th.

Clarifying the situation Hassan Ali said, “I was going through a personal family issue, which has been resolved thanks to my wonderful wife. She has assured me she will take care of it and wants me to concentrate on my cricket and my career. Hats off to such a wonderful partner. She has always stood by me through the hardest times and after consulting with her I have decided to stay on with Islamabad United for the remainder of PSL 6. I would like to thank Islamabad United for their support and understanding during this tough period. And would especially thank the fans for their prayers and support, they have given me strength through these tough times.”

Islamabad United Owner, Ali Naqvi, said, “As with his initial intention Islamabad United will always support any personal decision that one of our family makes. It is fortunate for us that Hassan will be available for us through the rest of the tournament. But more importantly we’re happy that whatever issues there were have been resolved. We wish the very best to Hassan in every aspect of his life.”

I am not a fan of exposing personal life in this way.

A simple one line statement to say has decided to comeback after resolution of personal issues would have sufficed.

Respect to his wife, she may have also saved him from getting dropped for the T20wc!

Some of the bowlers such as Akif Javed and Waseem Jr, plus Shahnawaz Dahani are seriously knocking on the door for the 3rd seamer after Shaheen and Rauf

Dont get it why he goes in so much detail. Praising his wife to the moon. Isuess happen in all relations and some even on a daily basis.

Good luck to him for the future.

I get that he may be going over-the-top a bit, but I think it's better than the tradition of completely hiding your wife and not mentioning her at all. It's nice that he appreciates her so much.

In traditional Pakistani family, there is always a "buzurg" whom everyone listen to and plays a key role in resolving domestic issue , hope they have one.

I am happy that it was not a matter of some serious health issue in the family, that was my main concern.

Probably someone from his side was sick and he wanted to go back but now his wife has stepped up and said I take care of things you stay there.

He's not getting dropped for wt20 squad unless he's injured regardless of what Akif and Dhani do.

His wife has shown greater professionalism than him. Those bashing me, try working for an accounting firm like I am during busy season and then telling your partner, manager, team that you are bouncing at the last minute for personal issues. I guarantee you will be given the boot, it has happened to me brutally in the past.

I bet what's actually happened here is that there was a family dispute that got out of hand. Tensions have calmed a little and he's staying. His wife has said make it clear in your statement that it had nothing to do with me, or there will be trouble. I can see no other reason for this excessive statement about his wife!

Just because you worked for a trash company doesn't mean others should follow the same trash standards.

And frankly speaking, other situations not open to public scrutiny on a forum from people like you questioning why a person has to take some time for a personal family matter. I don't think you should be talking about other people's professionalism considering your earlier insensitive post.

If it happens every single tour and tournament, it becomes questionable then but not when the dude is literally doing it for the first time.

This would depend on the specifics of your personal reasons. If you have a close family member who is critically ill, having a baby, very ill child etc., then no reasonable employer would fire you for this. None of this can be made public due to confidentiality and it’s a discussion between you and your manager.

He said openly "Thanks to my wife" we know your pain bro. :P
Reminds me of a dialog from a Bollywood movie " hum husband wife ma bhut understanding ha,jb ma galti krta hon to Main maafi mangta hon jb meri wife galti krti ha to b Main mafi mangta hon" :afridi
