Leave us alone Hasan. If you had one bad day , you could be forgiven , you were pathetic throughout the tournament . Team management is more to blame for selecting a useless trundler like for every match .

Babar can make feel good speeches all he wants insisting no one was to blame for the loss to Australia but we all know Hassan was the most guilty off them. Even he knows that himself when we saw him holding his head in the dressing room and hiding his face in shame.

Hassan Ali reminds me off Mohammed Sami in many ways. He too is just up and down.....up and down without the ball ever moving when if conditions are favourable.

He does not appear to be powerful enough and appears more interested in his appearance. Someone else will easily take his place if he doesn't dramatically up his game. Missing crucial catches and giving away 40 plus runs in 4 overs is terrible.

He is finished. Dahani should replace him in all formats. I don’t know if he is good enough or not, but at least he is tall enough.

Hassan Ali has represented Pakistan for 5 years and he had one golden year. That is the pretty much all the mileage he had in the tank. He is a spent force now.

Ravi Shastri "To single out someone from the game is ridiculous. It’s like someone saying that Pakistan lost the game because someone dropped a catch (in the semi-final against Australia). It's ridiculous. It's a team game, it happens.”

he was crap throughout but its not like he did it on purpose, should have been dropped but that wasn't his call either.

hes not a t20 bowler, should stick to tests where reverse can play a role and his batting can actually contribute.

its not his fault if he kept getting selected. Blame the captain for wanting to play him despite all the signs flashing red in front of him.

He forced his way back into the side after a great QeA and i reckon he'll be back once again.

Hasan Ali has a huge heart and he's the type of person to come back stronger from setbacks rather than make excuses.

If he does, Pakistan get a good 1st change bowler as well as a destructive number 9 batsman. Write him off at your peril imo.

Simply not a T20 bowler and should have been dropped after india or NZ game as his performances got worse. Add to that both him and rauf are very similar bowlers and we cant afford to have both in T20 team.

Hasan should only be selected for test side.

Why? This apology nonsense seems pointless rubbish. Hasan Ali didn't bowl well, but that's part of the game, and unless he played when not fit, then this nonsense isn't needed.

More PR nonsense. Instead of tweeting this nonsense, Hasan Ali may be ought to improve his bowling to ensure that he doesn't give such pathetic performances again.

No win situation for the lad I guess.

Stays quiet and he'd be accused of not caring. Issues an apology and some will say he should keep quiet.

All athletes go through ups and downs throughout their career, that's part of learning and growing as a person. The only thing that differentiates them to stand out from the rest is their ability to recognize their mistakes and flaws and work to rectify them.

Although he was one of the main culprits for the loss but he wasn't the only one. End of the day, it's a team game and you win together and lose together.

As long as he learns from this and improves for the better, there's no shame in accepting defeat.

Hopefully most PK fans would have understood that he didn't need to apologise. His passion wasn't in question, so no need for an apology

He will be stronger and better! He was instrumental in the CT success and will be again in the future.

What is this? There's absolutely no need for an apology. If he has done a bad job - it is the captain and the selectors who need to take a call on that. Catches get dropped more often than not in cricket.

Did not he bowl well in recent t at series ?? I don't think so he is finished but he should never be a part of limited over side because he leaks too many runs.

Who's blaming Hasan just for the dropped catch, his pathetic performance throughout the tournament including the SF when he conceded 44 runs was the main cause of teams loss. He cannot get away with just a casual tweet but should have been shown the door for long time,if not for ever.

Thread and Hasan's tweet sum up the Pakistani thinking perfectly. We are a nation that loves to idolize and condemn individuals as two extremes in all aspects of our lives. It always has to be someone's fault rather than admitting the deeper problems. Similarly our hopes of being better, also rely on individuals (I.e. Afridi match jitaye ga, IK mulq saware ga, naya MP road banwaye ga etc.). We need to elevate our mindset to think about the greater community as a priority and how our individuals efforts can help with that.

P.S. Hasan wasn't even the worst bowler of the match, yet Hazlewood was not dropped for the final.

He shouldn't need to apologize. Crap happens and sometimes it's not your day. That's sports for you.

At the end of the day, he tried. He wasn't out there dogging it and purposefully trying to do poorly and he has won Pakistan numerous matches throughout his career. Heck, he was probably the best player in CT win. I hope it doesn't mentally haunt him and he can move on and be the amazing bowler he has been for the past year.

He should have realised that he had been poor all tournament and was a liability. He should have had the presence of mind to withdraw himself and make way for others.

I think he has said the right things.

Apologize and try not to repeat. That's all he can do.

I don’t see Mitchell Starc taking to Twitter and apologising because he conceded 90 on runs in the last 6 overs he bowled in the tournament, especially when the entire Australia looks up to him to deliver for them. Poor performance as a bowler in such competitions is understandable.

I don’t see Hazlewood apologising for dropping Kane on 15 odd who went on to score a world class 85. Drop catches are understandable and part of the game too.

What Hassan should apologise for is not doing the mere basics right though out the tournament. Any betting man could have accumulated a fortune by betting on Hassan Ali to bowl a no ball or two in every spell he bowled throughout the tournament. Repeat mistake after mistake. This is unacceptable and very amateur. This cannot be tolerated and needs a harsh reprimand so that all junior and upcoming Bowlers know that Pakistan will not tolerate consistent nonsense when it comes to the basics of bowling. My blood boils knowing that I knew he was going to bowl a no ball somewhere in the semi final, and he ended up doing it!

How is that his fault he was asked to play and he did, im sure he told them hes not feeling it but they tried to put confidence in him and played him and it failed.

No need to apologise. He wasn't good enough in the whole tournament.More than his catch it was his bowling which was more of the reason why pakistan lost that match.

He should never play t20is ever again. He is not good in this format. He has role in test cricket though.

I think he was hiding some fitness issues , he has been a very average bowler in t20 but not that crap of a bowler what he looked in every game he played in the WC.

He tried hard. He just isn't good enough. He shouldn't be blamed. The effort should be appreciated and blame should goto team management who did select him.

What's the need to apologise. He has not committed state treason. He just had a bad game, which is common in sport. The English team were the hot favourites, but you don't see them apologising after their semifinal defeat. As Wasim bhai said, they just say "Hard luck, better luck next time" and move on.

We have a culture of treating the game as an exercise of nationalism and so when a player puts in a terrible performance in an all important game, he feels (or probably he's made to feel) as if he's committed state treason and frankly, that type of sports culture is cringey and immature.

Think our nation is a very emotional one. We do these things in normal life also - culture thing.

All I know is that England didn't blame Jordan or Bairstow (dropping neesham) for the loss against Kiwis and Australia won't have blamed Smith had they lost the match against Pakistan for dropping Fakar in the 19th over. I can understand some fans getting emotional at the loss but to harbour such feelings against a player, who honestly tried, didn't fix the match but wasn't good enough on the day, even after 4-5 days is pathetic on account of the fans.

There is a gentlemen called Hirji Kenia Jayantilal, who was selected ahead of Gavaskar to play against WI during the first test of 1971 tour, for both of them it was their debut series. Jayantilal was the first batsman to be dismissed that series, he fell to a spectacular catch by Sobers off Shillingford for 5. Second test Gavaskar was selected and Sobers dropped 2 sitters of him. As Gavaskar himself said, he ended up scoring 10k runs and Jayantilal never played a test match again. So in life, things happen because of luck or bad luck, if u are still angry with Hasan or feels that because of him lost the match, then perhaps you need to experience life a little more and understand what's it all about.

Even though your performance was below par through out the tournament, and your focus was more on your hairstyle, your dropped catch was NOT the primary reason why we lost the match.
There were still 6 balls remaining and Stoinis was on the crease. And he is a bigger and better hitter than Wade can ever be.
We primarily lost because we simply didn’t have 195+ on the board.
If not for Wade, someone else would’ve scored the winning runs. Guaranteed!!

As far as your future goes, it looks you may or may not, have a last few last flashes in the pan left, but when a pace bowler loses intensity like you did, then the writing on the wall is clear.

Jayantlal was never in Gavaskar's class. He played 1st test bcoz Gavaskar was injured and was dropped for 2nd test bcoz Gavaskar was back

Gavaskar's class? What was the class before he debuted. Yes jayantlal was chosen as the 2nd opener and Gavaskar was the first option but if you would have any brains, you wud hav known that it was not abt Gavaskar vs Jayantlal but about how luck plays a role in life. Gavaskar has mentioned in his book on how lucky he was and how unlucky Jayantlal was.

Too much emotion is involved in south asian teams..

by that standard...Hafeez & Malik should have been the first ones to sit out from the squad.

I think Pakistani selectors know he is the week one.. but unfortunately they have to realize that Imaad Wasim, Rauf and even Shadab at times can be a liability.. adding Hassan just makes our bowling unit that much weaker.. I think thought process for selecting Hassan is his hitting ability.. but that doesnt off set the 9-11 runs he gives on a consistent basis.. getting someone who can keep runs between 20-35, and someone who can go from 40-50 is a big difference.. that is a 25 runs being given away over someone like Aamir.. Aamir is highly economical.. and thats the big thing with T20 you need someone Economical..

Not a fan of apologies from players.

Let your performances do the talking, not your keyboard.

Another poor performance in a big match - another apology?

Apology has always been the go to strategy in PR. I'd say the apology was forced upon him to end the hate.

Amir also slammed trolls for criticising Pakistan fast bowler Hasan Ali for dropping Matthew Wade's catch in the World Cup T20 semifinal against Australia and praised the team for their performance in the tournament.

"Our team went to World Cup after New Zealand series and England series were cancelled. Coaches came in contracts of one-two months. There was a change in management. Performing in this environment is a big achievement. Even India, who were playing Indian Premier League in UAE, were not able to qualify for the semifinal stages," Amir said.

"Those who troll have no cricket sense. Every player has dropped catches in their career, and Hasan is a good fielder. Also, we did not lose the match because of the dropped catch. You cannot troll this team, you can only give them credit for how well they played," he added.
