I recently came across an article which stated the following: 'You don't have to be left-handed to use a left-handed stance in cricket, either; your batting hand should be determined by your dominant eye and not your dominant hand.'
Is the top hand the 'batting' hand?
I did the dominant eye test (http://www.wikihow.com/Determine-Your-Dominant-Eye) and found my dominant eye to be my right. According to the article, my batting hand should be my right (if that is the top hand that means I should be a southpaw).
I am right handed in everything I do; but I also know that many left handed batsmen are right handed in other aspects. My right arm is also significantly stronger than left (due to injuries and because I use it for everything).
Am I just finding excuses on why I am a crappy batsman?
