We all know how that feels and after watching Wahab against Australia, he's won a lot of support.

Well done.

In case of Morkel, Wahab - Heart goes out.

In case of some others - team loses when they do well.

Feel for the passion and effort of the South Africans. Compare this passion to that of Afridi, Umar Akmal, Younis Khan, Maqsood and co.

morne.....faf.....abd...all of them man

i truly felt bad for faf the most....PLAYED A GEM of an inning....looked set for a deadly hundred.....he was the one who stopped sa from choking to a small target...but rain ruins it for him....reduced overs....he get outs....sa lose...and LETS NOR FORGET he always wanted a bit of recenge for 2011...did not get any :(

You do have to feel for Morkel

When the best fielding team in the world fields worse than Pakistan when it matters you gotta feel for the bowlers

I feel sad for Morkel, but to be honest, South Africa deserved this.

They couldn't chase under lights, and now they couldn't even defend under lights. Poor team.

Even Jacques Kallis on Sky Sports looks teary-eyed. His eyes looked pretty red.

If i would ever meet dale steyn i would ask him.. why the he.. you bowl a lenght bowl on the secnond last ball?

Out of the 4 teams left i hope for a sa win. Now lets hope aus goes all the way.

On 26th, this could be us and thats a scary thought right now. :(

after reading all the posts, i am just wondering.... am i turned into a robot?

real touchy stuff there by ABD and company.i am moved.BTW I wonder who is gonna break down in tears next?
my guess is that its gonna be the angry young man kholi.he has been chanting"I won't give it back"for too long, like a 5year old being stubborn about his favorite toy.too bad Aussies are gonna snatch it away from him.

I didn't watch SA innings but scoring 82 with 76 SR on a complete patta and a small ground was a bad innings. Better than those who didn't score but not a great innings.

Rossouw and De Villiers gave him good support. Its not like he was battling on a sinking ship.

It was Devilliers and Miller who got SA to where they were.

Feel for the Saffers. A very likable team filled with great players and players who will end up as greats. Should have been their year but just not meant to be.

he negated Southee and Boult first spell when they were nipping it around rain arrived just when he was accelerating killing his momentum lost his wicket 2nd ball after resumption without the rain interruption he looked set for 120+ at over run a ball.

Oh I see...Thanks for the insight. :)

Definitely feel sorry for de Villiers. He played superbly in this World Cup and was the lone warrior at times. Didn't receive any support from :amla.

Take a bow.

Captaincy needs improvement though.

Feeling sad for sa...but nz deserved it ..it takes one hell of an effort to chase 300 in 43 Overs at home in a world cup semi not many teams can do this kiwis showed some character... I bet that Ozs can't chase 300 in a wc semi Home ...kiwi team can sustain the pressure better then most teams and is on par with India...hope that kiwis smash Ozs MCg in front of 90k Ozs would br fun

Oh the humanity.

South Africa played their hearts out but New Zealand have been unstoppable. This is what cricket is all about. Raw emotion and passion.

Want to see the Indian players crying after the semis.

same bro
i want 30 000 indians at the scg to pour their hearts out with tears due to losing to straya

and i want the stadium to get flooded so hard they need to rush the covers on to protect the pitch

I did say South Africa will choke.

Did not choke today, but I did tell you that they won't be winning this Cup :)

Well, it was the tightest game of this WC and definitely not what you predicted it would be. So your prediction was as good as mine.

True.

I don't want to say it , but only one player really choked.

Anyways...

I think he bowled his heart out just like Wahab but poor fielding and no support from other fast bowlers just wasted his efforts. Feel for him. Great player.

Full credit to NZ, played under pressure and won it. But, I feel very sad for SA can't choose between the two teams. They should have met in finals but that would have been horrendous if one of them have to lose in finals.

Well, It was 5:30 in the morning in Florida, USA and i finished all the nail biting and looking at AB, morne I went to sleep and could sleep at all, cant believe this happened. Woke up and still could not believe this happened.

I am an indian fan but always wanted SA to do well, its the AB factor but the better team won. Good luck to NZ.

True.

I don't want to say it , but only one player really choked.

Anyways...

wkeeper messed up an easy run out of Elliot could have made things interesting then Duminy messing up another chance so it's not just one player.

i just cant stop picturing the tears and hurt in the S. African players :(

Feel sad that a team having Bhai, AB, Morkel, Steyn, Philander and Tahir couldn't win the WC. They clearly have the passion and the ability. But it was just not their day.

I am happy that we won but respect to South Africa for pushing us to the limit. Good luck for the next WC.

Nobody feeling sad for this guy he was carrying SA bowling attack on his shoulder

If anyone remotely looked like he was affected by the big game pressure, it was De Kock. I have never seen him look so nervous and out of his depth.

Really weird seeing people wishing that they see a lot of Indian fans and players crying on Thursday. This is sport and one team has to lose. I hope whoever loses in the SF and the final take it on the chin, carry themselves gracefully and come out from the experience as stronger cricketers.

It is absolutely heartbreaking to see a team that consists largely of very likable players reduced to tears. I'm especially gutted for AB, Morne, Du Plessis, Steyn and Tahir. You could sense that AB and Steyn feel largely responsible for this loss and as the realization hits that this will probably be their last WC, they'll take the loss even harder than the rest.

Morne bowled a brilliant spell and Tahir/Faf are players that wear their hearts on their sleeves. You could see how much it meant to Faf when he took that catch or when an injured Steyn flew off the ground to save a 4. These guys really wanted to win.

However, I reckon it would've been tougher watching NZ lose with the home support and all.

I doubt this will be ABD last Cup.

luck never supports them...! sad moment ,felling very bad for them...!can feel their pain i like ab.deviliers vry much..and he is a true gentelman..!

I doubt AB will be as good four years down the line. I also doubt SA having a better team than they did this time around.

To be fair, they only really had two bowlers perform throughout. Steyn went missing, and they kept choosing Philander over Abbott. Morkel and Tahir carried the attack.

Also, their opening pair were horribly out of form. De Kock only hit his stride in the QF but there was literally no pressure in that game when you're chasing a mid 100 score. He looked completely out of his depth against Boult and co in a high stakes game. The worry was etched on his face. Poor kid.

So even their batting was being anchored by Faf and ABD more often than not, and Miller and others offering some lower order fire power.

I think SA have had better teams than this in the past.

Also, I am sure ABD will find a way to stay relevant until 2019. Probably won't be at the peak of his powers as he was here though.

ABD deserves another WC shot.

People try to hype up many batsmen as ATGs and GOAT but ABD is truly truly an ELITE batsman.

Belongs to the ELITE GOAT league and he deserves another shot.

Feel so sad to see him crying.

He is simply stuck in a useless (for tournaments) team.

My FB newsfeed is flooded with Indians feeling gutted for ABD.

Everyone loves him. Its hard not to.

Kohli is the toughest guy you'll ever meet. You have no idea how much he hates losing or how hard he fights...he won't be crying even if we lose. He's the type who wont want to give Mitch or Warner the satisfaction. He might be an utter *****, but he can take it just as well as dishing it out. I can see Jaddu or Dhawan or Ajinkya crying if we lose a tight one.

And btw nope, we aren't giving it back. These are unfamiliar conditions and our tactics and mindset are outdated but our quality and mental strength is just too high for the brittle Aussies, they simply cannot take a beating or stand up in a fight. The Aussies can dish it out better than anyone else, but they aint' so good when they are on the receiving end.

I am a bit of a contrarian, but I do feel sad for him. Not because of the nice guy image or anything, but the guy did literally everything he could possibly have done. He batted like a god throughout the tournament, he even bowled superbly in the semi, but it just wasn't enough.

Surprising though, my feed is jammed with people delighted for the Kiwis.

Indians love Kiwis too.

Many in my feed were congratulating Kiwis but feeling gutted for ABD.

ABD was simply stuck in a bad team.

Feel really bad for AB and Morkel... AB changed the whole momentum of the game today after NZ was really turning on the pressure on the SA. But the real elephant in the room is Amla...for all his reputation is worth, he failed to click in important matches and that really put the pressure on the rest of SA batsmen.

Very happy for NZ - though to be fair, they had both the home-ground advantage as well as advantage from a rained out pitch. Will be interesting to see how they perform in Australia in MCG - the last couple of matches there showed that the MCG pitch is supporting spinners.

For me the invisible elephant is De Kock who's failed all tourney long, and today he missed 3 run outs (try watching the ball before Elliot finished the match) which could have won the match for South Africa.

I think its about time people start calling AB a goat. He is not a goat, he is a TIGER

And yet they're saying Steyn is an ATG, if not the greatest. ATG's don't choke when it counts the most.

World Cup 2015, 1st Semi-final

Final over: NZ require 12 runs to win, DW Steyn to bowl.

Final two balls: NZ require 4 runs to win, 3 to tie.

DW Steyn bowls, gets hit for SIX.

" Steyn has bowled length. Why length at this time? Surely you would expect a yorker or a bouncer"

DW Steyn - 8.5 overs ... 1-76 .... Econ 8.6

DW Steyn - truly an ATG, perhaps the greatest !! (or so they say).

That's the problem with people who just look at stats. If you had watched the match then you would've known that the team was in shambles after Amla and De Kock were out early. They needed a major repair job and that's exactly what Rossouw and Faf did. At one point Faf had a strike rate of 55-60 but he ensured stability and scored at brisk pace as the innings progressed. Barring that insane run out opportunity that he created with AB, Faf truly deserved to get his hundred, not only his hundred but perhaps a win as well. Maybe I'm being biased with that last statement, but aren't we all?

I have been saying , drop de kock , open with Roussow & let AB keep . you cannot open with 2 batsmen with same tempo and win a big tournament . Neither Amla or De kock are going to win you matches , they should have let go of one imo .

Did De Kock choke? Did ABD choke in the field and with his captaincy? Did Steyn choke? Did Philander choke? Did Williamson choke?

Bro, these guys are just trolling you to get a reaction. But you do go a bit overboard with the defensiveness regarding Amla.

He's a nice guy but chill, so is Williamson :) :P

De Kock had been nervous way before the tournament even began. I've seen him play numerous times and everytime I see him, he looks like he's on the verge of collapsing from sheer terror.

He's still a young kid, lest we forget.

Shehzad is only 1 year older yet look at the way he is treated :)

Someone already responded to my post with a similar post as yours.

I said thanks and yeah...context makes it a great innings.[emoji3]

Shehzad hasn't played his natural game (attacking) for a while now. He get's slated because of his snail-pace starts.

One of the most heartbreaking event after Argentina's loss to Germany, recent Federer losses, India losing in T20 final to Lanka.
