Help required: Family Registration certificate

Sallam guys

was wondering if anybody based in pakistan or even the uk can help me with a query. Do you know what the purpose of a family registration certificate is? ive been on the consulate websites etc and they just say its not a legal document and is used for embassy business..

Also do they need my shanakhti card to issue one? the website isnt clear..

I got it a little while back for immigration purpose... basically if in the NADRA system you and spouse are listed as husband and wife then the process is a breeze. Does wife's NIC say husband name: "The Great Khan".... if so then you can just go on NADRA website and order FRC and will get it in email within a day or two.

If wife's NIC doesn't say it then you and wife will have to physically go to a NADRA center and present your nikkah nama so that they can put you down as a married couple in their system. Not sure whether it can be done from overseas or not.


With the kids is easier because your name will obviously be on their card as father's name.

In my case, it was used to prove relationship to my father - helped in the inheritance proceedings in Pakistan.

Its a nightmare unfortunately and you need to get a good local lawyer who knows what to do etc.
