How can I trace my ancestry?

I want to find my ancestry and lineage because I am really interested in the history and I have always taken interest in finding about my forefathers.

I am sure there is a company that you can send you saliva to and they determine your ancestry. They deternine where your DNA originated from. Quite interesting but I am not sure whether it is accurate :s

Ask your parents, grandparents and other elders. Look up the history behind your family name, while ancestry testing is quite interesting and gaining popularity, I would advise against it because you're basically selling your dna information to these private companies for a couple hundred bucks and then the dna becomes their property, they use that gor anything like selling it off to the govt or perform experiments with your dna for "research" purposes or provide health reports to insurance companies.

It is very accurate as it involves science. My sisters are very obsessed with this and they sent their DNA to ancestry.com and got a very comprehensive report. To their disappointment we were found to have a very standard and uneventful lineage.

Yeah because what your bias free parents and barely senile grandparents say is more accurate than science. If I were to go by what my parents, grandparents, "elders" had to say about our heritage we were direct descendants from the family of the Prophet Muhammad, Mughals, the British or whatever suited their agenda.

Okay; i will definitely give it a go! I should have mixed ancestory due to my grandparents. I could tell by my family physical features
