What's the proper way to deal with toxic people?

Do you confront? Do you ignore? Do you cut them off?

I personally prefer to ignore. If no result, I cut them off. I generally never confront as I am not great at it.

With a kind heart and knowing fully well that life is short!

There is no point of confrontation but sometimes it’s just avoidable.

It has a lot to do with characters some indulge in it , some let it go and get back at that person at a later time, some let go and don’t care.

Treat them like they don't exist or matter. Works perfectly and it actually gets under their skin ten times more

I fully agree with you.

In my experience, holding grudges is very emotionally draining. It is better to treat them like they don't exist.

Start Accepting the fact that you will face these type of people everyday in your life. It will calm you down

It all depends. If it's someone irrelevant just ignore them; if it's a toxic relative then cut em off but if it's a toxic co-worker and you ain't planning on quitting the job then you might have to confront.

Just be smart and don't let emotions control you.

Sadly, all of us have to face toxic people in our lives.

Ignore them when they talk rubbish. As they are co-workers and "friends" only reply when they speak sense.

You can do that with people who you don't need to interact with, but sometimes you are pitched into new situations through marriage which brings a whole load of new relatives with all their baggage.

Personally I will just try to stay out of their drama as much as possible, and pretend there is no issue every time I see them. So rather than ignore them which isn't always possible, I just ignore their issues.
