Decline in Glenn Maxwell's game
He looks like a certified hack now. I remember in his first few years he was highly feared and was bashing bowlers for fun, but now he looks like a sitting duck against good pacers and is completely unreliable.
Looks like all the money from the T-20 leagues has killed his motivation to improve his game. At one point in time he was among the highest paid players in the IPL. Time for Cricket Australia to move on.

If Maxwell were not to be taken to the World Cup, everyone in Australia would have been up in arms at the injustice of not playing this flawed genius.
Now the public will see him for what he is - a very gifted player who didn't kick on from his early game - after bowlers figured him out.

Maxwell should only play T20I. He is not fit for Test and ODI.
Handscomb is much better. Even Travis Head is better (he can bowl too).

UAE is always good for attacking batsmen. Pitches over there are flat.
Maxwell is not effective in Australia too. He should be dropped.

Actually I have seen many attacking batsmen struggle in UAE because of slow nature of the pitches and ball not coming onto the bat.
Maxwell on the other hand somehow plays well on such kind of wickets may be because his weakness against pace and bounce gets covered there as he generally struggles against the bounce at pace on fast tracks which Rabada, Archer utilized against him in last two matches.

Afridi was 5 times more effective in ODI. Afridi can bowl 10 overs.

However, few users mentioned that the Tesla CEO is not interested in cricket.

Glenn Maxwell has joined a special club. He has taken wickets of top 3 batters of India. which includes Rohit Sharma and Virat Kholi. Shaheen was the first to do so, he did it in recent Asia cup 2023.

Bowling a lot better than I expected him to, zampa is back on form now but he was outbowling him in the first two games
