How do you think India's batsmen will cope with Australia's bowling in the upcoming Test series?

Australia have a fantastic bowling attack, which includes the number 1 pacer in the world, Pat Cummins.

India were able to successfully tame Australia's bowling last time to get enough runs on the board, with Pujara, in particular, performing well.

How will India's batsmen fare this time against Australia's bowling?

This time Kohli is only available for the first Test, so India will lack that proven quality in these conditions.

The thing with Kohli is that although he is a great test batsmen but he will lose a much vital toss on Day1 early morning after which we will anyways be under pressure from day 1 and ultimately lose the game.

With Kohli not playing from second test onwards, our chances of winning the toss is higher but we will be lacking out a batsmen like Kohli in our team and hence everyone else will have to bring their 'A' game to win the match. I think our batsmen will perform but inconsistently, i.e, one hundred per 3 tests on an average.

All said and done, I expect the result to be Australia 2-0 or 3-0.

We will loose this series and Kohli will fail as a batsman and captain.
He is not at all looking good, I think he already passed his prime after 2019 WC.

If KL Rahul plays, I expect him to have a good series. I can see Rahane and Pujara struggling.

Can someone please update me on why Kohli is leaving after the first match?

Very poorly, I'm afraid. Can't expect Pujara to stand up again. 4-0 most likely.

Poor, unless the wickets are like the SCG Test of last tour. That tour was set on the first day of first Test when India recovered from 4/40 or so - this time on similar track, it’ll be a big struggle, with or without Kohli.

Foe the birth of his first child.

Oh, okay thank you.

Will be interesting to see how the batting fares without their leader. Not just in terms of the runs, but the attitude that Kohli brings to the ground which rubs off into teammates.

Won't do too bad. I expect a lot of 300+ scores with or without Kohli.

But the problem is that those 300s won't be enough as Aussies will pile on 500+ almost every first inning. :(

As long Aussies don't resort to cheating like they have done so in the past it should be very competitive.

I don't know why posters are backing KL rahul he is evolved as a white ball player but in tests he hasn't proved yet for last 2 years.

We have a bunch of batting duds bar Pujara.

We'll get rolled just like in New Zealand, but I'm just glad we're playing cricket again.

India are super unprepared.

Don't have much hopes to be honest.

If we do well, that would be a welcome surprise.

All fingers crossed.

Pujara ain't gonna have a series like that in Aus. It's a once in a lifetime thing.

I think India will lose 4-0 weather permitting. Aussies will be out for revenge. The Indian batsmen are not prepared and out of form.

Indian batsmen are gonna hop, skip and jump towards defeat. Starting with the openers, Prithvi Shaw is a mini Graeme Hick ( the original flat track bully), Rahul has struggled in tests of late and Rohit is a goner if the ball moves around. Che and Rahane will hold their own for a bit while the rest will fall around them. Kohli plays one game in Adelaide where he will do good.

India’s four-match Test series against Australia will be a contest that the entire cricketing world will watch closely given the rivalry the two teams share. India and Australia along with England are the top Test playing nations in the world and a battle between these two teams in Australian conditions will be fascinating to watch.

Add to that the fact that the Aussies will be looking for revenge, having lost the Test series in home conditions two years back, and this is a battle royale in waiting. Indian captain Virat Kohli will return from the tour after the first Test to be with his wife Anushka Sharma as the couple is expecting their first child.

Kohli’s absence will make India’s job tougher but former Pakistan paceman Shoaib Akhtar believes India does have the ability to win a Test series again down under but could struggle if the middle order doesn’t fire.

“In my opinion, India have the ability to win again. But if their middle order doesn’t perform, I see them struggling. People will be watching this series with great interest including myself,” Akhtar told news agency PTI.

India are expected to play the opening Test in Adelaide, which is going to be the first day-night Test between the two teams and that according to Akhtar will be the touring party’s biggest challenge.

“The day-night Test will be their toughest test. If India play well in those conditions, then you never know. The first two innings of the first Test will tell us where the series is headed.” Akhtar said.

He further added that Indian batsmen will have to get used to the conditions quickly and adapt to the pace and bounce of the Australian pitches.

“It takes two-three innings to control that forward trigger movement in foreign conditions. You can’t drive on the up and have to play close to the body,” he said.

I think Indian will do well and I am having a good feeling about it. Except in England, I back our batsmen in most countries with or without Kohli. Infact, the kind of form KL Rahul is in, Kohli's absence may well be a blessing in disguise. I would play the following batting order when Kohli wont be there:

Mayank
Rohit
Gill
KL Rahul
Pujara
Rahane
Pant

Kohli averages 55.39 in Australia with 6 centuries.

No one can replace that quality and experience.

Not even a single part time bowler in your top 7
I think india will go with

It might be a whitewash without virat. He is the greatest Indian player ever.Without him I don't see India winning a test.

Yes India should just cancel the tour. Waste of time. Fit for nothing Indians should just quit while they can blame covid and cower in fear.
