Mohammad Amir in 2010 was a wrecking ball with the ball in hand. His prodigious swing bowling was receiving comparisons to Wasim Akram. This obviously came crumbling down after the spot-fixing scandal. Since M. Amir's return he has been below average at best.
In his last 9 ODI matches his bowling average has been 87, the Pakistani selectors were finally able to put on some big boy pants and drop him from all formats. Although his performance against India in the CT will never be forgotten by any Pakistani of this generation, what do you think his average would have been without the ban?
Would he have continued in his perceived route as a generational talent? Or was he always doomed to failure?
