Experience, experience and more of that.

This is what Shoaib Malik will offer to Pakistan.

With no great performances in recent past to talk about - will that be enough to book a seat on the plane to England?

He is the best player............for the other team

Worst thing to happen to Paksitan cricket was to consider him a batsman

Shoaib Malik's presence will be extremely vital in our elimination before semi-finals. He will guide us through the pre-mature exit given that he plays all the group matches.

He will definitely be there, so why to start that debate, even if he didn't pass the fitness test.

Its his last wc.

Hafeez will play and malik will be the backup.
Because hafeez harris and malik can not play in same lineup.
Harris at 4 and hafeez at 5.
Malik as 12th man

Thats what pakistan do in every world cup , carry a deadwood or two in the name of experience and usually end up biting us in the back.

In the last world cup pakistan took younis khan with them and he ended up scoring only 43 runs in 3 matches , in 2011 too his experience didnt help us.

Leading to the world cup , shoaib malik has only 2 50s since jan 2018 and averaging only 29. Its clear that he is past his best and will only be liability for pakistan in the world cup.

He’s spiritual leader. Leads the namaaz for the boys as well and gives pep talks to pump them up. Need 1 such player like that in every team to create the right atmosphere in the dressing room.

Hafeez can take up that role. Don't need two spot fillers In the squad.

Malik had his greatest purple patch when he made his comeback but what I feared was that he would experience a big dip prior to the World Cup and unfortunately that is exactly what has happened, he needs to be binned along with Hafeez; as long as these two jobbers are around Pakistan can kiss their hopes goodbye, it also doesn't help that we have an obese fella who is playing as the specialist captain in our line up Syed1

- Hasn't done anything for 2 years
- Has a poor overall ODI record in England
- Hardly bowls anymore
- Recently failed as a potential dressing room leader
- Is weaker than Hafeez at power hitting

Hopefully that sums up how important it is that we don't take him.

His presence makes no difference. A 30 scored by a senior player is held in higher regard than a 30 scored by a junior batsman according to the PCB. His average is typical of his career profile.

Filling your team with sub 40 average batsmen and expecting them to be piling the runs is a sign of showing a fundamental lack of knowledge about how the game has changed.

It’ll be extremely important for WC - for every team, if all 3 remains fit ....... Inshallah PAK will have a middle order of Hafeez, Malik, Sarfraz at 4-5-6. Imad hasn’t passed YoYo yet, so chances are that next 3 will be Shadab, Nawaz & Faheem....... good luck & best wishes for PCT.

Yet PP thinks we have chance because Imran did in 92 with Inzi ,Wasim,Musthtaq, and Sohail..........

He will play a vital role against Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Afghanistan. :inti

*West-Indies and India should also need to be in the list.

He averages high against these teams, if I’m not wrong.

That is already 5/9 matches, so Malik saab will play a crucial role.

His stats are surprisingly poor against us - more so considering that 13 of his 14 innings were played before 2011, when our team wasn't that famous like now :)
