With all those technical deficiencies and bottling out in icc events , Mohammad hafeez has been our best performer in odi cricket since last 6 years scoring some 4000 odd runs at an avg of around 37-38 and his overall odi avg is mediocre because of his 1st innings in international cricket (2003-2010).
Currently he has 5356 odi runs at an avg of 32 and 3350 test runs at an avg of 40 and its certain that he ll play till next odi wc . So what do u guys think how many runs he ll score before he retires ?
I personally think he ll be aiming at 5000 test runs and 8000 odi runs

Only 5000 test runs?

He will retire with good number of test runs

He will retire with good number of test runs

thats because he will find it very hard in the upcoming tours of eng and aus
and even if he performs well still we play very less amount of test matches

even if we play 20 tests in next 3 years 1700 runs are good enough.
dont forget he ll be 39 by 2019 Yatoo

I would request all Pakistan fans to join me by praying that Hafeez is fit enough to play every single game on tour in England and then Australia, and lets see what he can deliver away from the desert and against some quality bowling.

Gut feeling - Dale Steyn will be LOL and ROTFL watching it all on TV from his living room.

This is most probably going to be a make or break series for hafeez

Confused ?

Some say UA is the best ODI bat in the last 6 years, some say its Hafeez.

if u see the stats hafeez has overtaken him
ua has only 2800+ runs while hafeez has 4000+ runs in the same period

Not sure how many, but he has done decently in ODIs.

Then I think Hafeez will be playing for the next few years without any worries, as chances are Pakistan wont be playing England and Australia for another 4-5 years. All he needs is to get another injury as a blessing in disguise against a series v South Africa, and there you have it - he can then dominate Bangladesh, Zimbabwe, Sri Lanka and Afghanistan and establish himself among the legends of Pakistan cricket! :)

The funny thing is we had a cricketer back in the 80s who used to 'skip' series against certain teams and play against his favourites :) His name was Imran Khan, the one crucial difference being that he never looked at capitalizing against the weaker teams and would regularly skip the series against Sri Lanka, New Zealand and Zimbabwe and relish the challenge against the likes of West Indies, Australia and other top teams.

It makes you wonder what Imran Khan's statistics as a fast bowler and batsman would have been like if he had instead feasted himself against Sri Lanka, NZ and Zimbabwe.

Seems about right. He has been one of our best ODI players and Test player in subcontinent conditions in recent times.

not sure how Imran khan would have played more against Zimbabwe when they were given test status after his retirement.
and he played 20% of his test matches (total 17 tests )against SL & NZ, thats pretty good numbers for "skipping" the "minnows"

He wont be scoring many runs in any formats this summer when pakistan tour the uk.

He is more than 35 already. Cant see him achieving more than 5000 in tests and even 8000 in ODI will be an achievement for him

His batting form is just amazing right now. It's a shame that he hasn't scored that much in Tests.

he has started to score heavily in tests since late 2014 but the question is will he able to perform in upcoming english tour

Hmm, he is 35 and hopefully following Misbah`s footsteps to be playing at the age of 40 so probably 8k in ODI and 7K in test why I said this you can subtract SA, ENG, Aus and new Zealand tours because he is proven mediocre on pitches have a little movement

I think Hafeez will do much better in England and Australia than people think.

He is a better batsman than what he was in South Africa three years ago.

If he can score hundreds in Australia and South Africa, he can firmly establish himself as Pakistan's best Test opener since Saeed Anwar.

Mamoon, when if comes in any thing consider it to be zero when it comes to Pakistan. There was one who we can say was capable to making a century and that was butt

England is not hard place to bat if you can survive the first session, but if Pakistan gets a decent total in the first Test, England will prepare a green track and Broad and Anderson will probably roll us for 60.

i think he ll become the first pakistani to score 5000 test runs (only if he achieves this record )
or has been there any opener who scored 5000 ?

LOL. Now thats what we call an exposé.

Depends on how long he plays for and his fitness.if he stays fit could get 5000 runs in tests and about 7000 in Odis.

LOL those countries that have a stable board their players' retire. Hafeez will one day be not selected for a while and then we will see him sitting in some channel or another saying I retired gracefully' without any announcement.

7k test runs is too much considering the fact we are playing our next 9 out of 12 test matches in overseas where hafeez's record aint that good and he is 36 and may play for 2 3 years thats y i said atleast 5k runs

I do hope its his last outing, he's been the reason of our batting debacle almost all the time gets out at wrong time which you cannot afford at #3 . Inzi should axe him and let babar azam play at #3

I reckon he will score another 10 more runs in tests..

Jokes aside he will be the key for Pakistan in England this summer. He is one player who can look world class on his day.
