I was looking at Yasir Stats till now and realized that he has already taken 144 wickets in 2.5 years.

Now what is even more intriguing is the fact that the Legendary Shane Warne stated when Yasir Shah debuted that he could end up with 200 wickets by the time he retires.

He's only 31 and if he stays fit he could surely play till 38/39. He only needs 56 wickets to reach Warne's prediction, so I would assume it is safe to say he surpassed Warne's expectations.

So how many wickets do you think he will end up with? According to me he will definitely take 400+ if he stays fit. Should surpass Wasim Akram's wicket tally and 5-wicket-haul record.

What do you think?

After the Australian tour, some experts already claimed that he was done and Pakistan should find a replacement.

Will retire with at least 300 test wickets.

Pakistan plays very little test cricket that have hampered overall career records and achievements of our players. Yasir should at least take 300 test wickets

220 if we're being realistic. If I'd want to stretch it then maybe 250....Not more than that......

He was potentially a 400 - 450 Test Wicket bowler , but he was brought in very late.

Also Pakistan not playing enough test matches. I think he will be playing another 5 years , so should get another 150 - 170 more wickets.

Most wickets by a Pakistani spinner in tests: 261 by Danish Kaneria

Yasir Shah will beat that. Average under 30....

Yasir has a more powerful action than Warne and his jump and twist puts more strain on his back than Warne's action. This is why I don't think Yasir will play beyond the age of 35/36. However, by that time he will already be a Pakistani great and will Inshallah be in the league of Saqlain as one of our best ever spinners.

He'll continue to pick wickets as long as we play on spinning tracks.

He'll score centuries and double triple tons with bowling when not playing on super spin friendly surfaces.

If he keeps playing in Spin friendly tracks, may be 300 more in 5 years, best bowler in Pakistan

Jani Aglay Mahenay Konsi Test Series hay ?? :yk Waisay I hope I am wrong but at most I can see Shah taking 250-260 wickets in his entire career.

I don't know.

His fitness could lower the amount, but a better captain could increase the amount on overseas tours when compared with his numbers down-under.

Assuming those two factors offset each other, and he continues with his beastly ways in Asia and WI, he could end up with 350+.

Pakistani spinners have failed the longevity test. Not a single one of them managed to go on and take 300 wickets. I don't expect Yasir to be much different, his fitness is very questionable. The next overseas cycle could end his career.

Around 300. Pakistan is stacked in the spin department and I can't see Shah playing until he's much older than 35. Frankly, I don't want him to continue that long either. He's a good spinner and the best in the world currently, but Pakistan can do better, I feel.

Let's see if Shadab learns the art of test cricket over the next three years...
