Lets admit it, if Pakistan didn't win the Champions trophy, no ICC would had been helping form a World 11.

ANd it is because of the ICC approved world 11 that the next two tours of Sri lanka and West indies are going to take place.

Till now we have seen credit to Najem sethi, ICC and what not, but what about Sarfraz.

Even if Sarfraz goes on to lose every match of his career from this point on wards, the guy deserves a legendary status because his win bought cricket home to Pakistan

Take it easy!!! relax... Sarfi has lots of cricket ahead of him to be called legendary. Yes I do agree winning the CT final did play some part in the WorldXI tour.

Very unconventional but I see the logic you're putting forward and I understand. Pakistan being Champions has certainly played a role in all of this and we owe the title to our skipper.

Us winning the champions trophy was down to Hassan ali, amie, zaman, shadab and Junaid. Besides his innings against Sri Lanka he didn't do much else. He ain't a legend, he's got miles to go yet.

Mickey as well..

Oh Inzamam as well...

Ohh Hassan as well...

Ohh Fakhar as well....

Ohh never mind..

He only batted twice in the entire Champions Trophy and still managed to achieve a Man of the Match award from one of the innings, in the other almost every batsmen failed and Pakistan lost that match, also his aggressive captaincy was the biggest reason why Pakistan won the Champions Trophy, thus without Sarfraz we couldn't have won it.

no tournament win is possible without a captain. Anyone who says that a captain had nothing to do with a tournament win, well its better if you dont argue with such people.

I'm surprised that people could have such views

Actually, I do think Mickey had a part in convincing the South Africans to play.

bro, bringing cricket back to Pakistan was the toughest job ever.

SItuation is as such that we could even have a PSL at home. But if one players performance ends up helping cricket return to Pakistan, that player deserves a legendary status in my opinion.

At the end guys like Najem sethi will take away credit for the backroom talkings, but the ball was thrown in the court due to Sarfraz captaincy.

ICC will obviously look after those countries whos team ends up winning the final.

On the topic, Sarfraz deserves credit and so does all other members in the Pakistan Squad for winning the Champions Trophy, but to be honest this tour was in talks before the Champions Trophy, after the successful PSL Final in Lahore and so more credit goes to the board and security system.

You know what i hate about sports in Pakistan.

WE dont value the team or the person.

I was once reading about the Jamaican bob-sledge team from the 1988 olympics, how they gained fame and then had a cultural influence, had movies made and so on.

This Pakistani team did something bigger then that, and yet it won't have as much cultural influence as that bob-sledge team did.

This team that was bashed in the first game, ended up not winning the tourney but also got cricket to return to Pakistan

Absolutely!! People started respecting pakistan after we got the No.1 position in tests... I agree. I am always been very carefull putting things over the top. Had so many disappointments over the years when we call certain player "the best" and "the only one" and next series its all done and dusted..

Under previous captain's Pakistan has been ranked at 7 or 8- out of no where Sarfraz takes the team to a major championship

People who say Sarfraz doesn't have anything to do with the win are either oblivious or have a personal agenda
