I have played cricket at school, college/university and club level. I remember the night before some very exciting school and some college game, I could not not sleep well due to excitement. And, I'm not a nervous or over-excitable person. Wondering how much sleep some of the young players like Shadab will get before the Match against India ??

1 mg of Melatonin and you can sleep blissfully. Atleast that's what I do when I'm feeling jittery before important meetings or when I travel internationally and my schedule is all off.

I'm pretty sure they take stuff nowadays before matchday to make sure they get enough.

Forget them. I will struggle to sleep 2nte.
Missing my afternoon kip today so that I feel supertired come bed time

Only fans will struggle to sleep.

For players it does not matter much. This is not 90's anymore.

Players go to bed early

Dim their lights and wala. Pro athletes are used to it. Also they get so much excercise that it helps them sleep well too

As much as possible.

Just like one would need before an exam or a long day at work - optimal rest is necessary to be fresh and vigilant when performing.

South African players take a dosage of melatonin before every game. It gives a very restful sleep and they fresh the following day

But if you are Hershelle Gibbs you don't sleep at all. you go to the nightclubs, drink like a fish, swear like a sailor and get to the ground fully drunk
