Don’t be hard on the Pak bowling nor give too much credit to the NZ batsmen today, as we fielded Pak’s B or C attack. No Rauf, no Hasnain, Naseem coming back from being sick, no Shaheen, no Usman Qadir, etc.

So should we even take this NZ batting performance seriously? Should the innings by the NZ batsmen really even count against this back up attack?

The wicket was still slow and low but they scored at 10 runs per over against our over rated back up attack. And we have India's B team beating South Africa's A team by 7 wickets.

Areyou kidding this i routine T20 stuff, dont take NZ seriously but we must arrest the issue of nonexistant outdated Pakistan middle order

Not true. Shadab, Nawaz, Naseem are all front line choices. Waseem still in consideration for first choice

Not too much I guess, as it was an off-day for the group.

But one thing that has been extremely worrying is the lack of power/muscle in the shots from Pakistani batters. Has been embarrassing to see Pak batters throwing the kitchen sink but still finding their hits taken 10 meters inside the boundary while this guy Allen's mis-hits go 10 metres beyond the boundary.

Match was over by the time spin came into the attack. If there is zero pressure then even the suitable match-ups can be taken to cleaners as the batting will play with absolute freedom and with slight luck on their side, they will come out on top under such situations.

Dahani is hit-me buffet bowling should settle the debate as to who deserved to be in the squad amongst Hasnain and him.

Also they’re only chasing 130, so again, this does nothing to prove NZ openers are good. They clearly are only good enough to chase 130ish scores, anything more and they’re toast. Have to depend on their bowlers to restrict opposition below 140.

They need a lollipop B or C attack to do any significant damage.

Agreed, but not true to say this was B attack. It’s B+ attack lol

Pakistani hitters need the medium paced half vollies for their shots. Decent sides have identified this and have resorted to Yorkers, slower deliveries, changes of pace, spinners with fielders on the boundaries to blunt them.

This guy Allen seems like a leg-side Tulla. Not sure he would be served medium pace pies on the middle stump by first choice pacers of most teams.

That's where most batters prefer in general.

I am more worried about some of the batters giving it their all but still not able to find the boundary. Haider threw everything into his shot, couldn't time it though but still the way he swung , I thought it might clear the fence. Iftikhar gave it his all on a couple of shots and he actually timed one of them pretty well but it still bounced inside the boundary (might have been hitting against the wind, dont know for sure).

Allen on the other hand, had similar mis-hit going into the crowd. (To his credit, he is a big strapping lad). Not sure, what good this extra mass is doing for Haider if he still can't muscle mis-hits over the fence.

It just emphasized the already known fact that Pakistan batting is Rizwan and Babar. If both fail with the bat, Pakistan will lose badly to any decent opposition.
