Both can be true.

> India has a rightwing extremist goverment at the domestic level.
> Pakistan has used terror groups against its neighbour for decades.

They are not mutually exclusive.
Who is the greater danger to peace? Some loons with a AK 47s? Or an entire country run by some loons with Nuclear weapons and is determined to attack its neighbour whenever they have domestic issues

I’ve been closely following this latest diplomatic outreach, and I must say Team Bharat has demonstrated exceptional professionalism, unity, inclusiveness, and an unwavering sense of national purpose. 🫡

It’s becoming clear that the core objective of this initiative is to communicate a powerful message to the global community that Bharat was compelled to cross international borders due to persistent cross-border terrorism that has clear links with Pakistan.

This is not just about explaining the past, it’s about setting the tone for the future. Bharat is making it clear that any future terror attack originating from Pakistani soil would 100% invite an even stronger, possibly more expansive response and the world should not be surprised.

In essence, this is strategic foresight at play. India is pre-emptively preparing the diplomatic ground to counter any potential global backlash or sanctions, especially from power blocs that may have vested interests in curbing India’s ascent, including elements within the Chinese and possibly even the American establishments.

This is a masterstroke in proactive diplomacy by PM Modi and the wider political leadership.

This is a masterclass in international narrative building and Statesmanship 🙏🏻🇮🇳

Delegation presenting Pakistan’s stance on escalation with India to meet on June 2: Sherry

The high-level delegation tasked with presenting Pakistan’s position on the ongoing dispute with India has scheduled to meet on June 2, PPP Senator Sherry Rehman said on Wednesday.

Earlier this month, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif decided to send a diplomatic delegation to important world capitals in the aftermath of the recent military escalation with India. He entrusted the PPP Chairman and former foreign minister Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari to lead the delegation.

The delegation comprises Senator Rehman, former foreign minister Hina Rabbani Khar, Dr Musadik Malik, Engineer Khurram Dastgir, Faisal Subzwari, Tehmina Janjua, Senator Bushra Anjum Butt and Jalil Abbas Jilani.

Speaking on DawnNewsTV programme ‘Doosra Rukh’, Senator Rehman said that the diplomatic committee had decided to visit various countries before Eidul Azha.

“The committee, headed by Bilawal, will begin its tour of various countries on June 2, starting from New York,” she said.

She added, “The committee will first go to New York, then Washington, followed by London, and then Brussels.”

Rehman further said that Bilawal had emphasised that there was no hurry as Pakistan “is not concerned with the Indian delegation.”

“Bilawal has said that we have our own stance and that we have enough content for our defence,” she said, adding that the PPP chairman wanted a “substantive [and] quality meeting”.

Speaking about Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent remarks regarding the Indus Water Treaty, saying “No politician, especially a PM, says things like that.”

She added that Modi wanted the region to remain in “crisis” to prevent any space for negotiations.

In a separate interview with the Saudi television network Al-Arabiya, the senator warned that stability in a volatile region is not possible with Modi’s escalatory rhetoric.

“He is pushing the region toward a dangerous new abnormal, which cannot possibly be acceptable to anyone,” Senator Rehman said. “Nothing is normal or rational about this doctrinal shift in India’s foreign policy.”

She highlighted that India was also mining more groundwater than any other country in the world, especially from the Indus River Basin, while trying to cut off what they can of Pakistan’s water lifeline, stating that this is “totally unsustainable or acceptable in today’s climate-stressed world”.

The developments follow a recent military confrontation between India and Pakistan over New Delhi’s allegations against Islamabad’s alleged involvement in a deadly attack in occupied Kashmir’s Pahalgam — an allegation for which it provided no evidence.

New Delhi launched a series of air strikes in Pakistan, resulting in civilian casualties. Islamabad responded by downing five Indian jets. It took American intervention on May 10 for both sides to finally drop their guns as a ceasefire was reached.

Disappointed: Shashi Tharoor on Colombia condemning Pak deaths after Op Sindoor

Congress MP Shashi Tharoor, who is leading a multi-party delegation to five countries, on Friday expressed disappointment over the Colombian government's condolence message for Pakistani casualties after India's Operation Sindoor, insisting there is no moral equivalence between terrorists and those defending their nation.

"We were a little disappointed in the reaction of the Colombian government, which apparently expressed heartfelt condolences on the loss of lives in Pakistan after the Indian strikes, rather than sympathising with the victims of terrorism. We will say " Thaoor said while addressing the media in Colombia.

"We will say to our friends in Colombia, there can be no equivalence between those who dispatch terrorists and those who resist them. There can be no equivalence between those who attack and those who defend. We are only exercising our right of self-defence, and if there is any misunderstanding here on this core, we are here to dispel any such misunderstanding. We’re very happy to talk to Colombia in some detail about the circumstances," he added.

Tharoor stressed that India's action was a legitimate self-defence measure following a brutal terror attack on civilians in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam claimed by The Resistance Front — a Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) offshoot based in Pakistan.

"We're very happy to talk to Colombia in some detail about the circumstances. Just as Colombia has endured many terror attacks, so have we in India. We have endured a very large number of attacks for almost four decades," Thaoor said.

Highlighting the importance of clear understanding, Tharoor said, "We are here looking for understanding... We have the impression that perhaps the situation was not fully understood when that one statement (Colombia extending condolences for deaths in Pakistan after Indian strikes on terror hotbeds) was made. Understanding is extremely important for us. We are a country which has really been a force for constructive progress in the world".

"We certainly hope that other governments will tell those who give safe haven and protection to terrorists to stop doing so. That would be very helpful indeed, as well in the Security Council or outside it," the Congress leader added.

SHASHI THAROOR ON US MEDIATION CLAIM

Shashi Tharoor dismissed speculation about third-party mediation in the recent cross-border tensions between India and Pakistan, asserting that there was no formal conversation involving India.

"We received a number of phone calls from senior United States officials and also from senior officials of other countries (France, UAE, Saudi Arabia). And the message we gave to all these countries was exactly the same. We are not interested in war. We were just doing retribution for a terrorist attack. If they stop, we stop," he said.

"Certainly there was no sort of active process of mediation that we are aware of. Certainly nothing involving us, because we never intended to begin with from the very first day when the anti-terror strikes took place on the night of May 7. We are not the belligerent power in this particular equation," he added.

Tharoor is currently leading a multi-party delegation to Guyana, Panama, Colombia, Brazil, and the United States, aiming to reveal Pakistan's links to terrorism, including the 9/11 attack on the US, and asserting that the recent conflict was triggered by the Pahalgam terror strike and not Operation Sindoor.

Shashi Tharoor vs Bilawal. Will be fun to watch

Pakistani delegation briefs UNSC members on Indian ‘threat to regional peace’

A top Pakistani delegation briefed elected members of the United Nations Security Council on Monday about the “threat to regional peace” posed by India’s actions amid the recent spike in tensions between the two countries.

The high-level team — consisting of three former foreign ministers, two former foreign secretaries, two former ambassadors to the US, and a serving federal minister — arrived in New York yesterday for consultations at the United Nations, the Foreign Office (FO) said in a statement today.

The delegation will also visit Washington DC, London and Brussels, the FO said.

Ex-FMs PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari, Hina Rabbani Khar and Khurram Dastgir; Senators Sherry Rehman, Musadik Malik, Faisal Sabzwari and Bushra Anjum Butt; and Jalil Abbas Jilani and Tehmina Janjua are members of the first delegation.

The PPP said in a post on X that the delegation met elected UNSC members “to expose Indian propaganda” and present Pakistan’s position to representatives from Denmark, Greece, Panama, Somalia, Algeria, Guyana, Japan, South Korea, Sierra Leone and Slovenia.

“India’s targeting of urban areas and suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty are a threat to regional peace,” Bilawal told the representatives.

The statement said he refuted “baseless Indian allegations” with arguments before the representatives, saying that “accusing Pakistan without any research or evidence is unacceptable.”

“The international community should not be limited to post-conflict resolution efforts but should find pre-conflict solutions for lasting peace in South Asia.

“Pakistan’s response to Indian aggression was measured, responsible and in accordance with the UN Charter,” he briefed the representatives about the country’s response in the recent military escalation with India.

Other members of the delegation also briefed the UNSC representatives that India’s suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty could lead to water shortage, food crisis and environmental destruction in Pakistan.

The statement said the representatives appreciated Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts.

In a separate post, Bilawal said the two sides held a “substantive exchange” in which Pakistan’s “principled and responsible stance in the face of India’s escalating provocations” was conveyed.

“Reaffirmed our abiding commitment to restraint, diplomacy, dialogue, and a rules-based international order. Underscored the dangers of India’s weaponisation of water by violating [Indus Water Treaty] and resolving the Kashmir dispute in accordance with UN Security Council resolutions. Pakistan unequivocally condemns terrorism in all its forms and remains a victim of terrorism, planned and sponsored from beyond our borders. We do not seek conflict, but stand fully prepared to defend our sovereignty and territorial integrity. South Asia cannot afford another crisis.”

The delegation earlier met China’s United Nations envoy Fu Cong to discuss the regional security situation and Indian aggression.

Bilawal expressed gratitude for China’s support during the tensions with India and briefed the Chinese official on Pakistan’s “responsible conduct” after the Pahalgam attack.

“India rejected Pakistan’s offer for a transparent and impartial investigation. Resolution of Kashmir issue is essential for lasting peace in South Asia,” Bilawal told the Chinese envoy and appealed to China to play its role in this regard as per the UN resolutions.

“The international community has moved beyond crisis management and towards solutions. India’s suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty is tantamount to weaponising water,” Bilawal said.

The delegation also expressed serious concerns over “India’s targeting of Pakistani citizens”.

The two sides agreed to oppose unilateral actions and aggression and vowed to restore peace in the region through multilateral cooperation. They also emphasised the need to respect the UN Charter, international laws and agreements.

“Reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to the ceasefire, regional stability, and a peaceful resolution in accordance with the UN Charter. The international community must reject India’s dangerous ‘new normal’ of aggression,” Bilawal said of the meeting with the Chinese official.

The group is scheduled to meet UN Secretary-General António Guterres, the president of the UN General Assembly and ambassadors of all five permanent members of the Security Council. It will also address a joint session of Organisation of Islamic Cooperation envoys.

In a post on X, Bilawal said he was carrying a “clear message” with him.

“Pakistan seeks peace with dignity, dialogue with purpose, and partnerships built on justice. The unresolved issue of Kashmir continues to threaten regional peace. Any aggression over shared water resources challenges not just Pakistan’s sovereignty, but global stability. We reject terrorism in all forms, yet oppose its misuse as a political tool to target Pakistan. Trade must become a bridge, not a battleground. It’s time for the world to engage, not ignore.”

The delegation will kick off its engagements on June 3, with planned meetings with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, senior administration officials, lawmakers, think-tank analysts, and leading media organisations.

Another delegation, led by Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Syed Tariq Fatemi, will visit Moscow from June 2 to June 4, according to the FO.

During the visit, Fatemi is scheduled to hold meetings with senior Russian officials and also engage with the media and think tanks.

“The visits of these delegations are aimed at projecting Pakistan’s perspective on the recent Indian aggression,” the FO statement read.

“The delegations will highlight Pakistan’s responsible and restrained conduct — seeking peace with responsibility — in the face of India’s reckless and belligerent actions in violation of international law.”

The delegations will also highlight that “dialogue and diplomacy should take precedence over conflict and confrontation”.

The statement read that the delegations will underscore the importance of the international community to play its due role in promoting a lasting peace in the region, including the immediate resumption of the normal functioning of the Indus Waters Treaty.

“The delegations will engage in a series of meetings with the leadership of international bodies, public office holders, senior officials, parliamentarians, think tanks, media and diaspora,” the FO said.

‘Strategic importance and not mere photo opportunities’

Separately, Senator Sherry Rehman said that the delegation led by the PPP chairman has already begun its US visit with a “packed schedule of high-level multilateral meetings in New York”.

In a statement, Rehman emphasised that the meetings will have strategic importance and not be “mere photo opportunities”.

She added that the country’s status as “a responsible and stable middle power” is being highlighted during the engagements, and that the country had a clear interest in “regional peace and security”.

“Adherence to international laws is part of Pakistan’s foreign policy,” Rehman said, adding that the “fabricated” Indian narrative against the country “will not be allowed to take the form of truth this time”.

“India has started using false terrorism allegations as justification for war. This trend cannot be allowed to become the norm,” she said, adding that the country would not be part of any Indian “film script”.

The PPP leader said, “Chairman Bilawal Bhutto has successfully presented Pakistan’s solid position on water, Kashmir and violations of international laws of war and peace.

“Pakistan, as a responsible nuclear state, believes in a broad and fair dialogue based on peace,” she added.

WASHINGTON – Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari strongly denounced India’s recent military actions as he urged global community to prioritize diplomacy in South Asia.

PPP supremo addressed an international press conference at the United Nations Headquarters on Tuesday, where he alleged that New Delhi carried out “illegal and unprovoked strikes” inside Pakistani territory on May 7, in violation of international law and the United Nations Charter.

Early May strikes targeted civilian infrastructure including religious sites, dams, and energy facilities, resulting in civilian casualties, including women and children, he said, saying Modi used Pahalgam incident as an excuse to justify cross-border aggression.

Pakistan strongly condemns terrorism in all its forms, but we will not allow such acts to be used as cover for unlawful military actions, he said, adding that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif offered India Pakistan’s full cooperation in an impartial international investigation into the Pahalgam attack. However, the Indian government rejected the offer and instead chose to escalate tensions, he added.

Defending Pakistan’s military response, Bilawal said that the country acted only in self-defense.

“Our armed forces responded with precision, downing six aircraft believed to have carried out the bombing. We did not initiate this conflict,” he added.

Bilawal credited international diplomacy, especially the intervention of US President Donald Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio, for facilitating a ceasefire. He however mentioned that the risk of future conflict between the nuclear-armed neighbors remains all time high.

World is now less safe because the threshold for nuclear conflict has come down. It is essential that global powers support continued dialogue to avoid another escalation, PPP leader said.

He further addressed Pakistan’s long-standing efforts against terrorism, highlighting country’s removal from the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) grey list during his tenure as foreign minister. “Pakistan has taken serious and internationally recognized steps to combat terrorism and terror financing,” he said.

He accused Indian authorities of politicising terrorism to justify discriminatory policies against Muslims both within its borders and in the region. Despite that, he expressed Pakistan’s willingness to cooperate with India in genuine counter-terrorism efforts.

Bacha mard ban gaya finally , jiye bhutto.

Seriously he has changed a lot and has become charismatic and it’s ok if he can’t speak Urdu , he shouldn’t speak it and let people make fun of it, he is damn confident and oozes swag in that speech to be honest.

India can counter Pakistan's narrative by providing the evidence.
The thread is about Pak countering India’s narrative. If you believe that Pak does not host these terror outfits, then good luck with the future.

So you're talking about the future, as if India’s suddenly going to stop fighting proxy wars?

Let’s be real, once Saudi and the rest of the major Arab states fully normalize ties with Israel, just watch how fast the global definition of “terrorism” gets rebranded. So good luck clinging to that narrative.

As for homegrown terrorism in India, it could end tomorrow. All it takes is for India to accept Kashmiris as Indians, not just the land. But when you treat the territory like a trophy and try to manipulate its demographics, don’t act shocked when resistance continues.

The only reason Pakistan isn't getting sanctioned to smithereens by the West is because India has refused to abandon Russia and join the USA circle of allies, which the latter clearly wants.

Pakistan is a cudgel being used by the West. That is the only 'narrative' that is relevant here.

Playing this type of double game wont win allies.

India has done zilch for Russia apart from buying oil.

Has it ever stood in an international forum and supported Putin?

Indias foreign policy has been a shambles. It has been apparent to anyone with two eyes for a long long time. Current events are just chickens coming home to roost and taking the deluded population by surprise.

The Hindutva's, and honestly, much of India, live comfortably in their echo chamber. Pakistan isn’t getting sanctioned over Kashmir.

Ye terror Sherror kuch nhi hai at the world perspective, the reality is jiski lathi uski bhens, India itself is heavily involved in proxy war with Pakistan in northern areas and Baluchistan, Israel probably the most terrorist nation ever since Hitler but nothing is going to stop them , so it’s all in jiski lathi uski bhens and the top world leaders knows this hence they are not buying Indian false narrative.

Just one simple question to our Indian andbakhts, how come banned organization like BLA has access to Israeli drones???

i dnt think russia really expects anything of india either, as long as they keep buying russian weapons theyll be happy. the idea of anything stronger is more fiction than fact, like when the shopkeeper tells u the jacket u are buying from them looks amazing on you.

The success of PTI campaign at a global stage shows the power of Pakistanis. The issue is for Pakistani Military to stop interfering and meddling in Politics and let IK do his job and you will see the power of concentrated campaign.

In 2019 and then in 2025, the power of Social Media has been demonstrated against India.

Pakistan needs to build the case against India (Baluchistan, KP and Afghanistan) and present it all levels and then Pakistanees need to sing from that hymn sheet.

It is entirely possible to build a case against India and fight it at all levels.

I think world is aware India is #1 when it comes to fake news. They are literally #1 when it comes to misinformation and disinformation.

Therefore, Pakistan don't have to do much because India is continuing to score own goals. India is self-destructing. :inti

The top nations has decided it’s time to stop the growth of india as a nation as this will in future will create problems for them so they are now just siding with Pak just for their own sake and equilibrium.

If you run some company and if you have a brilliant manager who runs days to day operations effectively and he is the sole reason for the success of your company then you will despite his all efforts will still don’t want him to get to the next level and actually open his own company , that’s exactly what’s happening with India as the top nations still wants India to serve them instead of being in direct competition.

Playing this type of double game wont win allies.

Non-alignment is not a double game. It is simply a country not picking a side and minding their own business. However if India wants favors from the USA (like sanctioning Pak), staying neutral like it currently is .. is not enough. The US commerce secretary Lutnick made that clear last week.

Personallly I think India should have joined the US bloc as soon as they got independence in 1947 as it would have been more beneficial than the NAM.

They’re all playing their games.

And you’re right in the middle of their games by choice.

America uses you.
China uses you.

While your people suffer, they benefit from the wars that happen in the subcontinent.

It doesn’t matter what people say, an average Westerner is as racist to Indians as he is to Pakistanis.

That may be true, and that is why I never condone running to the west to get their approval. Looks pathetic when either country does it, who are they to teach us about right or wrong with their own dark past? Nobody.

However, as far as the thread topic goes, Pakistan had every right to defend itself and return fire, let’s not pretend India doesn’t do its part of infiltration schemes and missions in Pakistan.

You know full well Pakistan had no choice but to fire back when India decided to take strike within its territory with no proof that the assailants of Pahalgam were funded by Pak govt.

It’s not good to be reliant on China and US. But it doesn’t mean we let our long time enemy attempt to strike within the country limits and go “sure, go ahead

India is doing it because it attacked Pakistan without first establishing credible connection between Pehelgam attack and the Pakistan regime. In International affairs, that’s breaking a major threshold and India will be seen as a regional bully, an aggressor and an irresponsible nation if they don’t establish reasoning for their action.

They’ve been successful at it as no major power has questioned why India made the strikes and no sanctions are being talked about. So the international community believed India on this.

International community is only concerned about either of us not going nuclear in our skirmishes. That’s it. Most countries couldn’t care less about who is in the wrong and who is in the right. Especially about a skirmish most in the international community are still ill informed about. Our fight wasn’t even on the front pages in the US news outlet at the height of the skirmish. Certain countries have a vested interest in India so they won’t say anything just like they won’t say anything about Israel’s ongoing genocide.

Rest of the world sees both nations as brown skinned third worlders going at each other. Can’t use their sentiments to dictate who came out on top in this. Even then, the opinion is definitely divided at the very least. Especially because of propaganda machines of both countries with actual damages still slowly coming out from both sides.

Rest of the world is okay with both India and Pakistan claiming victory as long as we don’t escalate to nuclear levels.

India ran to USA for the ceasefire. Not Pakistan. :inti

If India were on top, they probably would've continued the fight. They mellowed down after losing 6-7 jets (including possible death of their celebrity pilot, Shivangi Singh).

Pakistani PM and delegates have already indirectly confirmed they approached US President for mediation and to pressurize India to stop.

From Indian side, there has not been a single thanks message to US for this.
Pakistani leadership has already expressed their gratitude hundreds of times openly.

Pakistan is begging for talk because of Indus water Treaty. They are facing the heat now.

Anyway it's upto Pakistan to Stop the terrorist organisations otherwise brahmos is always ready to take on Terrorists safe place in Pakistan.

There is no such thing is Pakistan or Iran or North Korea.

These are nations whose people are held captive by a dictatorship.

Pakistan military doesn't care about the overall situation of institutions, safety or prosperity of the general Pakistanis. Their aim is to ensure they remain in control of complete power forever and these kind of things help them stay in power.

Pakistan on Wednesday reacted to external affairs minister S Jaishankar's recent remarks against the country, saying that diplomats should aim to promote peace and harmony, rather than “producing bellicose punchlines”.

“Pakistan categorically rejects the irresponsible remarks made by the External Affairs Minister of India during different media engagements in Brussels,” Pakistan's foreign ministry said.

“The discourse of top diplomats should aim to promote peace and harmony, rather than producing bellicose punchlines. The tone and tenor of a Foreign Minister should be commensurate with his dignified status,” it added.

Islamabad also claimed that India has been engaged in a “malicious campaign” to mislead the international community through a "fictitious narrative of victimhood”.

Pakistan accused India of “concocting misleading narratives” to justify its recent “aggressive actions”.

“Pakistan believes in peaceful coexistence, dialogue and diplomacy. However, it stands resolute in its intent and ability to safeguard its sovereignty against any aggression, as exemplified by its robust response to India’s reckless strikes last month,” the statement said.
