TALK ABOUT TLP from now.. @EVERYONE

Absolutely. Munir has cornered himself with his promises to Trump and the Zionists and is now desperate for a way out. Its sad that ordinary folks( as naive as they are) have been used as human sacrifices. Our Junta doesnt have a deen or imaan- it believes in the $$$$.
Even IK would have supported Trump on this matter, but at least IK has some self-respect and wouldn’t engage in the kind of bootlicking Shehbaz just displayed. Shehbaz mistook the Gaza Peace Summit for a fan convention.

Trump invited Sharif and said: “Say what you said to me the other day.”
Sharif happily obliged, delivering a five-minute speech praising Trump: “a man of peace” and “the most genuine and wonderful candidate for the Nobel Peace Prize.” :D

Using the Palestinian struggle just to score a few brownie points, absolute clown behavior.

It has been claimed that 100s died in the massacre. You dont have to support the TLP to condemn this massacre. The TLP is the Generals play thing but the guys on the street arent and they are the ones sacrificed by Munir and Rizvi. Was it done to impress Trump over the Israel recognition or is it part of the extension game. Either way hell awaits the perpetrators

We will find out onr why Munir asked the TLP to demonstrate and then shot them in cold blood. Was it for the extension as Razi Dada of the Nooras claimed or was it to make Trump think he has sacrificed much to recognise Israel and needs a reward.

Your conspiracy levels are absolutely delusional.

Same tlp khadim rizvi was after your ik when he was in power called him yahudi and what not .

Your imran riaz khan condoned operation against them then to clear them off the roads , Same riazan now sitting in uk making up stories of torture and massacre on poor rizvi followers.

No. They are all real. These guys are just pathetic losers that kill people for plots and power. No one denies that TLP are controlled by the Generals and even these guys aren't so stupid as to demonstrate about a war going on for 2 years after sleeping for 2 years. So who put them up to it? And then why were they murdered after doing what they were told.Rizvi snr was also controlled by Bajwa and he too worked on orders.
How many did IK kill in that operation? Zilch. Maybe your brain needs a refresher

Punjab govt appoints special prosecutors for cases registered against TLP in Lahore, Sheikhupura

The Punjab government has appointed special public prosecutors to represent the state in terrorism cases registered against the Tehreek-i-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) in the districts of Lahore and Sheikhupura, it emerged on Thursday.

The development comes after law enforcement agencies launched a sweeping pre-dawn operation on Monday to dismantle the religio-political party’s protest camp in Muridke, triggering violent clashes, widespread chaos and a series of arrests.

As per the official figures, as many as 2,716 people have been arrested after the Muridke operation. Out of these, some 251 were taken into custody by Lahore police and 178 by Sheikhpura police. The government has also barred around 2,800 people from travelling abroad, according to Minister of State for Interior Tallal Chaudhry.

According to an order issued by the Punjab government’s public prosecution department yesterday, seen by Dawn.com, Advocate Supreme Court Rana Shakeel Ahmed Khan and Advocate High Court Chaudhry Khalid Rasheed have been appointed as special prosecutors for all cases registered against the TLP “within the jurisdiction of Lahore and Sheikhupura districts/region”.

The appointments — notified following a letter by the Lahore deputy inspector general (DIG) legal for Punjab police chief Dr Usman Awan — were made under Section 18 of the Anti-Terrorism Act (ATA), which allows the government to appoint public prosecutors or law officers to Anti-Terrorism Courts (ATCs), a high court or the Supreme Court.

The special public prosecutors will coordinate with investigation officers, joint investigation teams for “efficient investigation, proper preparation of case files and represent the state before trial courts in all matters including remands, bails and trials etc; and Honorable Lahore High Court, Lahore (Principle Seat) in all matters, including bails, appeals, revisions, petitions for suspension of sentence, writs and other miscellaneous applications”.

Terms and conditions will be issued separately, the order stated.

Even as police intensify their crackdown on the group following the events that transpired in Muridke, the authorities have decided to take a series of measures to “neutralise” the threat the TLP has posed to the law enforcers and non-Muslim communities since its inception.

The decision to put the radical outfit on a leash is being linked to some crucial meetings, where the TLP’s tainted record of violent agitations, fatal attacks on the law enforcers, as well as ransacking of Christian and Ahmadiyya places of worship came under discussion.

Meanwhile, the number of cases registered against the outfit has reached 72, with at least 39 registered in Lahore, amid arrests of second- and third-tier leaders of the TLP.

As the whereabouts of TLP chief Saad Rizvi remain unknown, Lahore DIG Faisal Kamran said Rizvi had escaped during the police operation. He added that the police have managed to trace his location and he would be arrested soon.

It may be noted that a money laundering probe has also been initiated against Rizvi after law enforcers recovered huge sums of money during a raid at his residence in Lahore. The total currency allegedly recovered from the residence amounted to Rs110 million, including 50,000 Indian rupees.

Chaudhry, the minister of state for interior, has said action against the TLP protesters will be taken in a manner similar to that of those involved in the May 9, 2023 riots, which led to a country-wide crackdown on the PTI.

Punjab is considering banning the rightwing Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan after scores of policemen were injured trying to prevent the party from marching on to Islamabad from Lahore

This would be the second time the party risks being banned. The last time was briefly in 2021 after similar street fights.

The TLP wanted to head to Islamabad to protest outside the US Embassy in a show of solidarity with Palestinians. As the police and protesters clashed, the demonstrators set fire to scores of vehicles and 48 policemen were injured.

It took a six-hour operation at 3am in Muridke to end the protest, leading to mass arrests and the suspension of internet services in affected areas. There were reports of Saad Rizvi being injured. He is believed to have gone underground.

Given the outbreak of violence, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz and her law-and-order team thus decided Wednesday to place the TLP on the Fourth Schedule of the Anti-Terrorism Act. This is a law that allows the government to restrict the travel, speech and business of individuals linked to a banned outfit.

The TLP was formed in 2015 by Saad Rizvi’s father, the cleric Khadim Hussain Rizvi, to act as a pressure group on the blasphemy laws.

Under the ban, TLP’s properties and assets would be taken over by the Auqaf Department. Its posters, banners, and advertisements are banned. Its social media accounts will be blocked, and its bank accounts frozen.

In addition to this, the Punjab government is enforcing the Loudspeaker Act that prohibits the use of loud, unnecessary noise that could disturb comfort, health and safety.

The Punjab Home Department has also given people one month to surrender illegal arms and register legal weapons. It increased the punishment for possessing illegal arms to 14 years in jail and a fine of up to Rs2 million.

In 2021, the TLP was briefly banned for staging a country-wide protest, with Punjab at the epicenter. The ban was lifted after eight months when TLP supporters protested to demand TLP chief Saad Rizvi’s release.

After the ban was lifted, the TLP made a comeback to emerge as the third-largest party in Punjab in the general elections.

So Pak establishment does not want its own people to protest against Israel and show support to Palestinians.
At this point no one knows whose side Pakistan is on. Israel or Palestinians. :mv

It was decided to end TLP once and for all, but this was not the way to do it, but no one will be held accountable. Lawless country.

Can any Pak poster explain why the Police shot dead 170 people and injured over 500 people and many in critical condition? If they do not like anti Israeli protests, they should have used tear gas or batons at best. But this is a massacre. Simply shocking and unacceptable.

They do try to exaggerate numbers. If that many were killed, you will see hundred of funerals on social media.

First we have to establish what the whole protest was about???

Even TLP people don't know what it was about... If it was anti-israel, where were these guys sleeping for 3 years???

Summary for banning TLP forwarded to Centre, says Punjab minister

Punjab Information Minister Azma Bokhari said on Friday that the provincial government had forwarded the summary for banning the Tehreek-i-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) to the Centre.

“The Punjab cabinet has given its approval for banning the TLP and this has been forwarded to the Centre. So the legal requirement with regards to the provinces has been fulfilled. The provincial government, after giving its approval, has forwarded the summary to the Centre,” she said at a press conference in Lahore.

Her statement comes a day after the Punjab government decided to ask the Centre to ban the TLP. Meanwhile, there have been reports of authorities going down hard on the TLP since a crackdown on its protest camp in Muridke on Monday. The move by law enforcement agencies had triggered violent clashes, chaos dozens of arrests.

At the outset of her press conference, Bokhari, without naming the TLP, also referred to a protest called “in the name of Gaza”, noting that the demonstration was “illogically” carried out after a truce to end the war in Gaza went into effect.

She added that the protest had turned “bloody” as always. “This is not the first time that this party — or I would rather call it a group — has resorted to such acts. Be it 2017, 2019 2021 or 2022. there are repeated attempts to paralyse the lives of people and shut down the country,” she continued, apparently referring to the TLP’s previous protests that had turned violent.

“We saw a continuity of those instances this time as well,” the minister added. “The only difference this time was that the state and government together decided that this cannot continue anymore. Pakistan cannot afford it anymore.”

She said everybody needed to think about how attempts were made to create chaos in the name of religion.

The minister asserted that when the protesters had taken to the streets, multiple attempts were made to “engage them”, rejecting accusations that the relevant authorities had not tried to resolve the issue through dialogue.

“They were engaged repeatedly, requests were made to them. They were told that people are celebrating in Gaza,” accusing the protesters of setting vehicles on fire and inflicting violence on policemen. “Were they a hurdle in the way of resolving the issue of Gaza?” Bokhari raised the question.

Referring to a protest call for today after Friday prayers, she thanked the trader community, transporters and the public for “rejecting the call”. The minister also had two videos played during the press conference, that she said were of Lahore of Rawalpindi from today. In those videos, she said, you could see that life was continuing as usual in the two cities.

“So now, everybody should understand once and for all that they cannot be allowed to paralyse or shut the country down on the pretext of any excuse.”

Bokhari the shared that 1,648 policemen had been injured during the protest, of whom 202 personnel were severly injured. “Was it a peaceful protest then?” she questioned.

Before outlining a set of decisions taken by the Punjab government following protests, she clarified that these measures were not against any “religious party, group or faith”.

“They are against that only that extremists group that has a history of a law and order situation in this country. The group that has been involved in inciting people […] and killings.”

Detailing the decisions, she said the Punjab government had forwarded the summary to the federal government.

Moreover, she said, there would be “zero-tolerance” on the use of loudspeaker to “spread hatred or incite others”.

Bokhari further said that cases would be registered under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act for “uploading hateful content on social media, glorifying the protests and presenting it as a national cause”.

Punjab IG’s warning

Earlier today, Punjab Inspector General (IGP) Dr Usman Anwar warned that no individual or group would be allowed to take the law into their hands.

His warning, posted on Punjab police’s X account, comes amid anxieties stemming from a statement by Tehreek-i-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) Balochistan president Wazir Ahmad Rizvi, who has called on protesters to converge on Lahore’s Data Darbar today, as well as intelligence reports suggesting that TLP activists may engage in violent clashes and widespread chaos after Friday prayer.

Meanwhile, a separate group named Tanzeemat-i-Ahle Sunnat — which is not linked to the TLP — has also given a protest call for today, demanding a judicial inquiry into a pre-dawn operation on Monday that was launched to dismantle the TLP protest camp in Muridke.

A post on Punjab police’s account on social media platform X quoted IGP Anwar as saying that his department was actively ensuring the safety of people’s lives and properties, supremacy of law and maintenance of peace across the province.

“Punjab police is standing with civil society and the trader community, who have rejected the call for the protest and strike and expressed their resolve for [maintaining] peace and stability,” the statement quoted the police chief as saying.

It said he “strongly condemned violent protests, arson and illegal activities”, warning that no individual or group would be allowed to take the law into their hands. He also warned that “indiscriminate” action would be taken against those violating the law.

The IGP also assured the full implementation of Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure — a legal provision that empowers district administrations to prohibit an assembly of four or more people in an area for a limited period — to ensure the safety of private and public properties.

The Punjab government had imposed Section 144 across the province yesterday for two days.

A subsequent post by the police said security was on high alert across the province on the directive of the IGP.

“Punjab police has further tightened foolproof security arrangements in the province, including Lahore. On the directive of Punjab IGP, instructions have been issued to all field officers to remain on high alert and take immediate measures to ensure the protection of the lives and property of the public,” the statement said.

It added that district police officers, special branch personnel and the counter-terrorism department had been directed “to keep a close eye on suspicious activities”.

In another statement posted around noon, police said that the situation was normal in cities across Punjab.

In an earlier post specifically mentioning Multan and Bhakkar, a statement quoted IGP Anwar as saying that “under no circumstances will anybody be allowed to take the law into their hands under the guise of protests or strikes”.

The IGP had issued similar warnings yesterday as well, saying, “We have decided to treat the violators under anti-terrorism and other heinous charges to take them to the court of law for punishment up to 10 and 14 years.”

Meanwhile, a Dawn report said police had planned a crackdown to round up the TLP leadership to scuttle its plans for protests today.

LHC seeks replies from Punjab govt, police

Meanwhile, the Lahore High Court (LHC) sought replies from the Punjab government and police on October 23 on pleas filed by the TLP. The pleas seek return of bodies of the TLP’s workers allegedly killed during the law-enforcement operation in Muridke and medical treatment for those injured.

Justice Shehram Sarwar Chaudhry presided over the hearing during which Advocate Naseem Usman represented the TLP.

The petitions, which were accepted for hearing yesterday, contend that the government carried out an operation against the party’s workers who were staging a peaceful march in Muridke. The party claims that over 600 of its workers had been killed in the operation while its chief Saad Rizvi and his younger brother also sustained bullet injuries.

It alleges that both Saad and his brother Anas Rizvi, among others, have been abducted by the law-enforcement agencies.

The party further alleges that the authorities refused to hand over the bodies of the victims to their families. It has asked the court to direct the government and police authorities to return the deceased workers’ bodies and ensure that the injured are provided medical treatment at government hospitals.

The pleas also seek directions for the authorities to produce Saad Rizvi and other detained leaders before the relevant court. The TLP further seeks possession of its headquarters on Lahore’s Multan Road, allegedly taken over by the law-enforcement authorities.

Punjab seeks ban on TLP

A day earlier, the Punjab government had decided to ask the Centre to ban the TLP. In a meeting chaired by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, the Punjab government also decided to place the TLP leadership in the Fourth Schedule of the Anti-Terrorism Act.

Without naming any party, an official handout referred to decisions taken against an “extremist party”. However, Information Minister Azma Bokhari later confirmed that the reference was to TLP.

According to the handout, the Punjab will “recommend to the federal government to impose a ban on an extremist party and the party leadership be placed in the Fourth Schedule of the Anti-Terrorism Act”.

The Fourth Schedule is a list of proscribed individuals who are suspected of terrorism and/or sectarianism under the 1997 Anti-Terrorism Act.

Apart from these recommendations, Punjab also decided to arrest all “individuals involved in hate speech, incitement and violation of law. All leaders and workers involved in the martyrdom of police officers and damage to state property will be tried in anti-terrorism courts (ATCs)”.

“All properties and assets of the extremist party will be handed over to the Punjab Auqaf Department. There will be a complete ban on the extremist party’s posters, banners and advertisements,” the statement added.

It further said that all bank accounts of the party will be frozen and that social media accounts spreading hatred will also be taken down. The Punjab would also ensure strict action on the violation of the Loudspeaker Act.

It may be mentioned here that the federal government had banned the TLP in April 2021 on the recommendation of the Punjab government under the ATA.

The ban was later revoked in November that year upon the request of the Punjab government, days after a deal was reached with the group to end its violent protest march towards Islamabad.

Meanwhile, four cabinet members on Thursday also said that the crackdown on TLP office-bearers would continue. Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Federal Information Minister Ataullah Tarar, Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Muhammad Yousuf and Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry described the TLP as a group of anarchists and arsonists that has no political agenda except to challenge the authority of the state.

“The TLP leadership has been deceiving the nation from the very beginning. We were holding talks with them even before the protest march commenced, but they never stood firm on any commitment,“ Naqvi said.

Several TLP activists remanded in police custody in Lahore and Sahiwal

Two separate anti-terrorism courts in Lahore and Sahiwal on Saturday granted physical remand of dozens of Tehreek-i-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) activists to police in cases related to violent protests, attacks on police and incitement to public disorder.

In Lahore, an anti-terrorism court (ATC) granted 11-day physical remand of 30 TLP activists to police in a case of an attack on the Shahdara police station.

The police produced the suspects before the court seeking their physical remand for 30 days.

During the proceedings, the investigating officer told the court that the TLP activists had attacked the Shahdara police station, leaving 44 people, including 20 police officials, injured.

He alleged that the suspects opened fire on law-enforcement personnel and set several vehicles ablaze outside the police station during the violent protest.

ATC Judge Irfan Haider, after reviewing the record, allowed an 11-day physical remand and directed the police to produce the suspects again on Oct 29 with a progress report.

Meanwhile, in Sahiwal, a special judge of an anti-terrorism court granted five-day physical remand of several TLP activists in a case of allegedly blocking roads, pelting stones at police, and disrupting public order at Burewala Chowk in Arifwala.

The FIR registered at City Police Station Arifwala on Oct 13 nominated TLP Emir Saad Rizvi as a key suspect under sections of the Pakistan Penal Code, Maintenance of Public Order (MPO), and Anti-Terrorism Act (ATA).

Police alleged that Rizvi’s speech, broadcast live on social media, incited party workers to block roads, shut markets and disturb public peace.

The remanded suspects include Syed Ahmed Ali, Shahid Islam, Inayat Ali and Salman Azam.

The judge adjourned the hearing till Oct 23 and directed police to produce the suspects and an investigation report.

Punjab forms 12 JITs to probe key TLP cases

Twelve joint investigation teams have been formed by the Punjab Home Department to probe cases registered under the Anti-Terrorism Act 1997 and the Pakistan Penal Code across Lahore and Sheikhupura districts.

A joint investigation team is a multi-agency group assembled to investigate complex cases.

The joint investigation teams (JIT) were established primarily on November 6, 2025, under the authority of Section 19(1) of the ATA, which empowers the government to utilise specialized forces for addressing terrorist acts and offenses.

Seven JITs are dedicated to cases in Lahore, while five will oversee investigations in Sheikhupura.

The JITs established for these matters comprise senior police officers, representatives of the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) in the rank of DSP, and often include members from intelligence agencies.

Each JIT is tasked with completing its investigation and submitting a final report, or "challan," under Section 173 of the Criminal Procedure Code, thereby advancing the cases for trial as required by the ATA.

Read: Police cases against 90 alleged TLP financiers raise legal questions

In the Sheikhupura district, JITs convened by the SP Investigation will handle cases from the Muridke Circle, including:

FIR No. 2392/2025 (PS City Muridke): Involves serious charges, including murder (302), attempted murder (324), kidnapping (365), and dacoity (395), in addition to violations of the ATA, MPO, Arms Act, and the Punjab Sound System Act.
  • FIR No. 2393/25 (PS Saddar Muridke).
  • FIRs 2394/25 (PS Narang Mandi) and 2395/2025 (PS Manawala).
  • FIR 4139/2025 (PS Ferozewala).
These investigations are happening because of the violence that took place in October during the TLP's long march.

In Muridke, the violence resulted in the martyrdom of Factory Area SHO Shehzad Nawaz, who was fatally shot by protesters. During the clashes, police and Rangers launched a counter-operation to disperse the crowds, which had reportedly used stones, spiked sticks, and petrol bombs.

Forty-eight police and Rangers personnel were injured (17 from gunfire), while three TLP supporters and one passerby were killed, and eight civilians were wounded. Protesters reportedly set fire to approximately 40 government and private vehicles.

In Lahore, JITs have been set up for cases registered across the Iqbal Town and City divisions, covering:
  • PS Nawankot and City Nawankot (including FIRs 3279/25, 3272/25, and 3271/25).
  • Cases from Shahdara Town, Shahdara, and Ravi Road police stations.
