It’s truly remarkable.
Rohit Sharma was under depression for a while after the CWC final defeat. Virat was broken. So was Shami. Many thought it was the end of an era and the end of the trophy winning window for this bunch of players

What happened later - 8-0,5-0 and back to back trophies 🏆🏆

What a turnaround

Salute to this whole unit for their incredible mental strength

To come back from such a low point to win back to back trophies is incredible and the greatest lasting legacy of Rohit bhai’s captaincy

Rohit learnt from the mistake of the 2022 T20 Semi Final loss to England after which he made it his mission statement he will go after the bowlers, exploit the power play to the max and that the Indian middle lower order needed to be filled with players who could strike at 150-200.

I think more than that it is the process.

India did everything right in 2023 World Cup too. It is just that they had a bad day in the Final and simply lost. Otherwise they would've won that as well.

Fully agreed and it’s been evident from his approach. I think 2022 World Cup loss to England really made us realize we can’t allow us to be out batted if we want to win a trophy. Rohit went out all guns blazing jeopardizing his statistics in doing so. The kind of form he was in CWC 2023 he could have taken that MOTT for fun. He almost scored 600 runs anyway while destroying bowling attacks

Not even that - that bloody venue was win the toss, bat second and win the match. Should have never played that final in that cursed stadium.

The difference was the absence of Mr. Dolaand Trump's langotiyaa yaar in the stadium. :inti

What frustrates me the most about Pakistan Cricket is the fact that you can bank on other teams learning from their mistakes, defeats, set backs but the Pakistani team, Pakistani players will continue to be set in their ways, approach. The same bunch of players who have habitually lost games and failed at big events, bilateral series will keep getting picked in the next series and you will have their fans, ex players putting pressure on the PCB ie don't you dare to replace these players, regardless of their performances these are your best available players and their replacements in domestic cricket are ten times worse. Hence these players feel no stress or pressure to up skill.

A) For 10 yeasr India did not pay attention to batting depth. In 2024 world T20 they played 8 batsmen. Now as well. It made the life easier

B) Pandya provides incredible balance to this side. It almost frees up a spot in the batting department. With Axar another batsman. India suddenly looks a very deep batting line up. We missed him in the final 2023.

Also Hardik injury destroyed the balance.

Hardik has been crucial in both 24 and 25.

Yeah but that Panoti stadium has become the Go To Venue for all future Important matches like India Pakistan and Finals, because it is is named in honour of " You know who ". Next year the WT20 is starting in India, no points for guessing where the Final will be held. Out of nowhere that Panoti Venue has become the Mecca of Indian Cricket..

Pandya and Axar are the most important players in India. 24 and 25 won due to them. More coming in the future.

They need to figure out a way to counter the dew in that panoti stadium, not that Wankhede and Chinnaswami are any better.

India is a decent side but they'll be tested more outside of Asia and West Indies(conditions same as Asia)

India finished top of the group among all nations in the preliminary rounds in 2019 world cup which happened in ENgland
India finished top of their group in 2015 world cup as well in the preliminary round which happened in Australia.

India's problem is just closing out. Not condition. If anything next gen will be more versatile.

True.
All the CT heroics notwithstanding, India's batting lineup can be quite vulnerable on fast SENA pitches. A few quick wickets is all it will take to shake the lineup. And this is irrespective of the format.

It's your religion, I couldn't care less. 2017 was fun though
naah 2025 was more fun.

pak getting knocked out in 4 days in their own home tournament
pak playing their home tournament in dubai with an indian crowd
final getting removed from pak
india winning

pure humiliation

you have forgive them. What others call humiliatiojnis just another day at the office for Pak cricket fans

CWC was there for the taking, and cant truly be replaced by these tournaments. Missed opportunities along with WTC.

CWCs and WTCs will come along and India will win a few.
India has started playing 8 batsmen since WT20, 2024. Since then india unit has become a different beast. That lack of one extra batsman forced us to go slow in the middle overs. Now that we have 8 batsmen, we will not upset anymore like 2023 final.

yup. axar and hardik are the glue.

need to develop nkr and sundar well.

In ODI word cup 2023, India powered through the group stages and semi-finals, playing with precision, passion, and an unwavering commitment to lifting the coveted trophy.
However, when the final arrived, despite their best efforts, they faced a heart-breaking defeat, falling short in front of a spirited opponent where they where ambushed by Travis Head. The innings from Travis that secured an unlikely triumph for Australia in the 2023 final remains one of the greatest in World Cup history, and that's basically what it takes to beat India these days

The 2023 CWC final loss quickly turned into motivation, driving the team’s focus to a new level. India’s resilience and mental fortitude became their defining characteristic in the lead-up to the next major ICC tournaments. India have enjoyed unprecedented success in ICC events over the last 18 months, winning 10 matches in the ODI World Cup before falling short in the final, before going on to lift the T20 World Cup last year in Barbados, and now adding on to it with a Champions Trophy victory to boot. In total, India have won 22 of their last 23 matches across ICC competitions, and coming away with two trophies as well as runners-up medals.

India’s legacy following the 2023 World Cup will not just be about the triumphs in future tournaments, but about the mentality shift that followed. The ability to transform pain into fuel for success, to learn from setbacks and bounce back stronger, is a lesson that goes beyond cricket. It stands as a reminder that true champions are not defined by how they fall, but by how they rise from their defeats.
