What frustrates me the most about Pakistan Cricket is the fact that you can bank on other teams learning from their mistakes, defeats, set backs but the Pakistani team, Pakistani players will continue to be set in their ways, approach. The same bunch of players who have habitually lost games and failed at big events, bilateral series will keep getting picked in the next series and you will have their fans, ex players putting pressure on the PCB ie don't you dare to replace these players, regardless of their performances these are your best available players and their replacements in domestic cricket are ten times worse. Hence these players feel no stress or pressure to up skill.

India finished top of the group among all nations in the preliminary rounds in 2019 world cup which happened in ENgland

Counting Women's WC and U19 WC is an utter joke. India deserve credit for T20 WC 2024 and CT 2025 to an extent but that is it. 2 ICC Trophies from 2014-2026 is not something to do bhangra over. Even SL with all their difficulties in this period won 1 and England have won 2, SA have won 1.

However the weakening of home-dominance in tests is a concern... India was not this weak in home-tests even when they were minnows/new to world-cricket! Since 90s they have been a dominating force in home tests! I don't know whether to be happy or sad looking at India's supereme shows in ICC tournaments since the Dhoni Days - yes they may have lost some semis, finals, here & there losing key matches to Aus/NZ/Pak (CT-17, Super 12s in T20 WC) , but they are right up there in terms of W/L ratio and the tournament domination all over world on any surface!

Now they are almost invincible in T20 format (I will be heavily surprised if they lose the ongoing tournament - on these kind of slow pitches, only Sri Lanka can probably catch India off-guard on their day with home support!) Credit should definitely go to IPL for this. India can maintain this dominance in T20 (like Brazil/Germany in Soccer) provided they keep refreshing their T20I teams every year and not stick to seniority...

And on the flipside it has started to affect our spin-bowling ability/defence in tests (trying to dominate too much...) This can be corrected only if we develop some batsmen (test-specialists like Pant for example) and they are schielded from T20s/modern-attack games!

For instance there is a fabulous player coming up in Karnataka Ranji Team - Ravichandran Smaran who has the potential to become modern ATG Test-Batsman, but I am sure he will be spoiled by IPL/T20 demands (financial aspirations & glamor). Why not provide indirect support to such players (like paying them 5 to 10 times the match fees they are currently paid in Tests! I mean to say BCCI should fund Test Cricket through IPL returns, that is the only way people/players will retain interest in Test Cricket!)

If we continue to see few more home test-losses, we will definitely see Test Series reduced and a 2nd IPL Window created in a year... The only reason Test Cricket is surviving is because of India's dominance at home, and extreme competitiveness abroad... If this is not corrected in time, things what I said is definitely coming...
