Being the largest oilfield company in the world schlumberger offers a pretty luctrative package to it's employees. Being a final year chemical engineering student I also want to somehow end up in a organisation like that.

So how do they hire employees, what are the kinds of skills they look for and what is the best pathway to getting a job there (for a Field Engineer)

Ps:If there are any employees from schlum. I would request them to please share their experience and some details like how many days they work? and for how many hours ?

Best bet would be to apply for an internship with Schlumberger while doing your last year of studies.
Back in 1999/2000 (when I graduated!), Schlumberger used to actively recruit from GIK / NUST. A lot of my friends got internships that way. Once you have get an internship, it makes it fairly easy to get a full time position once you complete your studies based on how you performed during your internship

Reverse engineer your career path and you will get the answers.

Cold message profiles on Linkedin or Facebook who are already in petroleum field & ask what do you need to do to get where they are in their careers right now. Ask short but smart & specific questions & do your research thoroughly before asking anything.
