How to prevent hair loss?

How successful hair transplants are in general. Anybody with experience on this?

I am confident coz no one in my current generation or any male in my family I know is a ganja!! Current generation genes gain prevalence over dada ka dada:ns

You more likely get the balding gene from your maternal side.

Thanks. I feel I might need it in the future.
I would strongly advise to do full research and double triple check with consultants. There are many risks and the results vary for everyone. There are other treatments which also help such as certain creams and liquids on the scalp has helped people regrow the hair.

As of now my hairline seems fine but been facing massive hairfall issues since last 4 years (tho it slowed down a bit in last one year or so).
A friend of my dad's had it for around 10 lakhs(quite expensive by Indian standards since usual rates here are in the range of 50 thousand to 2 lakhs) and the results were astonishing. It's been around 2 years and it all seems to be working just fine for him.

Successful hair transplants depend on many factors like age, hair follicles, density of the donor area etc.

From my experience I have had 2 hair transplants in the past. Bit of background I started loosing my hair around 25-26 years old. Both my paternal & maternal side are bold, so I had no chance of saving my hair even though I tried every expensive product on the market in vain.

I did plenty of research but didn't want to pay over the odds for a transplant.

Eventually I decided to choose a surgeon from Pakistan Doctor Humayun. Great credentials as well educated in the UK.

He did the strip which has left a horrendous scar at the back of my head with hardly any hair growth which was in 2011. From my experience this was a 90s treatment done in 2011. He said it was 3000 grafts but more likely 1500.

Please avoid this surgeon as he charged me £1200.00 paid in the UK for a transplant in Pakistan.

After this disappointing transplant I was left butchered with this scar so was unable to go back to my Vin look.

Several years passed with further research before a friend of mine had a transplant done in Turkey for 1600 euros all inclusive with a hotel for 3 days, B&B as well as all the medicine included. :lara:

I took the gamble in 2016 to get my 2nd hair transplant which was the FUE done around 3000 grafts.

My hair has come back to decent standard but probably need one more round to fill in the crown.

All in all Turkey is a safe place to get a transplant but all in all it depends a lot on the above factors noted in the 1st line.

Thankfully I don't live in Pakistan so that one could be easily avoided lol.
Thanks for sharing your experience.

Thanks for sharing. That first surgery sounds like a nightmare.

Yeah the 1st surgery was an absolute nightmare. I was left with stitches in the back of my head so was told to go back to the UK to get these removed by my local nurse. After speaking to the nurse she refused to take them out due to the nature of stitches. I was referred to a plastic surgeon who had to get help from 2 other surgeons to remove these stitches. These stitches were left in the back of my head for 2 weeks with me getting serious pain in the back of the head.

The plastic surgeon was disgusted in the treatment calling Doctor Humayun a cowboy.

Some Turkish doctors are cowboys too imo. Some let their technicians do the hair transplant with minimal supervision ; best to go to a reputable doctor who will do the surgery him or herself. Dr Erdagon in Turkey is a reputable doctor I believe with great results. But surgeons who are amazing; charge a lot more. So no €1500 all inclusive.

More so, I believe you need to take medicine such as propecia after a hair transplant to maintain results. But PRP injections are the new thing in the market to maintain hair.

Ps: Alhamdulillah I have all my hair and nearly 30 now.

If you are losing hair then just shave all of them off. Looks much better that way in my opinion.

Totally agree there is some cowboy doctors in Turkey itself. Its a bit like Wilmslow Rd in Manchester, there is so many different doctors to choose from.

The doctor I went to had appeared on many different channels across the globe so had a reputable name.

In terms of doctors performing the transplant, there is no doctor out there who completes the transplant themselves its always past to the technicians with guidance from the doctor.

Maashallah nazar na laga - hope you stay bald free.

I have to admit I am trying out a real life experiment in this field with me being my own lab rabbit which if it works out I shall pass on to my kids.

I have a perfectly full head of thick hair ( Allah nazr-e-bad se bachae) and have only 1 grey hair which has stayed to being one strand since a year now. Ok I am at a rather young age but I have peers who are younger than me with plenty of grey hair and symptoms of early stages of balding. More and more I see men in their early 20s with a receding hairline.

A couple of years back I noticed a lot of hair fall, pretty abnormal for my standard which had me paranoid so I looked up the internet. A lot of chemical and wierd stuff to put on your head or to swallow I didn't like any of it. But there was a rather low key website by a 70yr grandpa named Tom who claimed to have onset of balding and recding hair in his early 20s and supposedly stopped it by doing regular by a scalp exercise. He also claims that his hair didn't go Grey for the most part. The excersise is suppose to increase blöd flow and help get rid of plaque build up by waste products and what not. He is not a doctor but reads up biology books to somehow explain why the exercise is supposed to work.

Perhaps the fact he seemed like an innocent grandpa, or perhaps the fact it was chemical free and no big coconut oil cocktail to put in my head, whatever it was it got me interested. You don't need any equipments, you don't need to buy anything all you need is patience. Patience to master the control of scalp muscles he talks about.

Lucky for me I was able to gain the control pretty easily. I don't follow any strict routine, no reps or sets counting. I just do the a couple of reps of the exercise here and there. It is fun, easy and also supposed to prevent forehead wrinkles.

Now a lot of this just might be grandpa-science I don't care. All I know is that I hardly have any noticeable hair fall now not nearly as 2 yrs ago, my hairline is still the same as it was for as far back I can remember.

I think if you are already balding or at an advanced it might not be any beneficial but for young people without much hair loss it might help prevent it. I dunno guess we will find out.

Here is the link to grandpa's website where he explains the excersise. He does sell a DVD for a demonstration but don't bother with it is not at all necessary.

Would like to see more young people getting on with the exercise and record the results. Frankly none of friends takes it seriously and willing to invest in the time to learn it properly.

Could be beneficial if you name the doctor if s/He was good. And mind me asking whether your on any medicine now to maintain your hair?

Only time will tell :) But I am trimming my hair shorter and shorter as age progresses so hopefully hair won't matter to me if baldness does occur lol

Yes the Doctor in question was Doctor (miss) Songul Alci from Istanbul. I say she was a very good surgeon but this is from a previous slaughter done by Doctor Humayun in Islamabad.

Like with everything do plenty of research.

As long as your hair is short, you wash in medium temperature stay away from different shampoos you can maintain your hair.

My father is bald but his brothers who live in Pakistan have a full head of hair. Maybe its the climate in the UK which causes you to wash your hair with hot water resulting in hair loss.

I used regain 3 months on 3 months off.

Mustard oil, coconut oil and amla oil. Which one is good and recommended?

Castor oil is what people recommend(pure or mixed with coconut)... although what worked for me was anoop hair oil , if you live outside Pak..it’s available at desi stores.

Personally I think it depends upon person tonperson.

I don't care if my hair fall or hair loss issues are there.
In my school days and during summer I always get my hair shaved.

You're in school? On topic, finasteride 1 mg per day. Guarantee you'll never go bald.

Iam not that young,I wasted 3 years on biology.
Thanks.

It's ok, no big deal. A lot of my friends lost a few years during their time and are yet established people now. BTW, why did you not complete it?

It's a long story,I will tell you after sometime.
What I have been through addiction, stress.

You will potentially get side effects too with those drugs as your playing with your hormones. This includes sexual dysfunction.

Just accept it and move on.

The only reason guys care about it is because of self-esteem and being considered attractive to females.

Well, when you lose your hair, you are forced to become a better individual in other aspects. (Fitness, professional, etc).

There is the stigma of “what will people say” and you have to realize, that nobody really goes home and wonders about you.

Either buzz or shave it off.

Never use any commercial shampoo.
Only special natural herbal shampoos(not the fake colorful ones loaded with as much toxins as normal shampoos). And not everyday, only after applying hair oil, which should be max 2 times a week
There are a plethora of hair oils u can use.

I don't have any issue of hair loss. However, I do have a huge dandruff problem and few Grey hairs on my side due to university stress. Not shampooing for 3 months has done wonders for my hair. I would recommend that to every man, just rinse your hair with cold water

Finasteride comes with one major side effect, it reduces your sperm count.
