How to recover the original voice memo on an iPhone?

My wife trimmed a recorded voice memo on her iPhone thinking it would get saved as a new file.

But unfortunately, it simply replaced the old file.

The voice memo wasn't backed up on iCloud. Don't know why.

Is there a way to get back the original voice memo or is it as good as gone?

I searched for it and there are some third party stores that do it. So I just need to give it to them and they will get it sorted right?
