They will arrange a short series with Sri Lanka
England preparations will be better.
India will play T20I and ODI first. Hopefully that is enough time to get used to English conditions.
as per Mamoon late summer English conditions are easy anyway so not much needed in terms of preparation for conditions.
English side are gonna be in a transition due to Ashes hammering so lets see how that goes.
I know I shouldn’t be keeping any hopes but India has the best chance of winning in England this time around they will ever get.. Let’s see how it goes..
this series they also had the best chance to win in SA
It will be a draw or India will win

It'll be funny if India get smashed in England again, given how they're touring during the same time of the year we did. Then all the downplaying of our achievements will look pretty silly.
"Best Asian team of this decade" playing in "Easy English conditions". Let's see if they can win two tests.
July/August tends to be relatively drier (it was particularly dry in 2016) so yes India will get to play in better conditions than us. We are touring in May and a whitewash is on the cards.
However, England had injury problems in that series and their top-order was a mess. Stokes only played 1 Test, and Anderson was nursing a shoulder injury before the first Test and it hampered him leading up to the Indian tour as well. Clearly, he was below his best.
Furthermore, they had the likes of Hales and Ballance in the top-order. They still haven't sorted it out though, but the likes of Malan have brought some stability. Stoneman also looks to be better equipped for Test cricket than Hales.
Barring any injuries and other unforeseen circumstances, the team that India will face this summer will be better than the one we faced two years ago.
No touring team in England has had it as easy as Pakistan in 2016. One of the driest English summers in a long time, and the ball did not swing as much as it normally does there. We did not get to play a single Test in classic English conditions and faced an unstable team struggling with injuries. However, we were still not good enough to win the series, mostly thanks to Younis chickening out of the first three Tests.
Some would argue that India faced an in-crisis England in 2014, beaten and bruised by Australia and Sri Lanka, but they played on a green-top at Lord's and still won, thanks to a terrific innings by Rahane. None of our batsmen can play an innings of that pedigree on a green pitch including Younis, who was a sitting duck in similar conditions in NZ in 2016-2017.

I do not understand why People and so called experts start bringing (Excuses after Excuses) if Pakistan performs better away from home.
Get your facts correct Sir, India till this day keeps talking about their Drawn Test Series in Australia in 2003. Fact of the matter is McGrath and Warne missed the series.
Waqar Younis and Saeed Anwar missed the 1992 world cup, if they were playing , we would have won the world cup rather comfortably instead of struggles.
World Cup wins of West Indies 1975/1979/ India 1983/Australia 1987 are somewhat not complete because one of the best Cricket Nations South Africa did not participate.
I mean one can open up History books and write countless excuses.
In History books it is written Pakistan Drew Test Series in England 2-2.
End of story.
If Kohli makes right selection policies, yes India will have really great chance to win in England IMO.
What would that be for England?
England don't have the bowlers of the quality of Rabada,Ngidi,Pjhilander or even Morkel considering that Babs is out of form. Only Anderson might be some kind of a threat but he is turning 36 and on his last legs. But we need to play first class games and acclimatise. Shastri and Kohli taking it lightly won't help.

Their batting is a bigger mess imo
in home conditions they will always find bowlers to be competitive, if not world class.
But their test batting lineup is a total disaster at this point

why do indian fans assume kohli is the one with all these powers
Their current top order is Cook, Stoneman and Vince. You seriously think that's better than the top order of Cook, Hales and Root in the 2016 series ?However, England had injury problems in that series and their top-order was a mess.
Stokes played in the India tour and England received a 4-0 thrashing. He played 0 Tests in the Ashes and England received a 4-0 thrashing.Stokes only played 1 Test
Anderson was so below his best he averaged 25 with the ball in the series which was bettered only by Chris Woakes.Anderson was nursing a shoulder injury before the first Test and it hampered him leading up to the Indian tour as well. Clearly, he was below his best.
Stoneman looks bang average against decent offspin and against the short ball. Malan has benefited from very flat Australian pitches - see his record in England last summer against South Africa and West Indies.Furthermore, they had the likes of Hales and Ballance in the top-order. They still haven't sorted it out though, but the likes of Malan have brought some stability. Stoneman also looks to be better equipped for Test cricket than Hales.
Yes England have made a dramatic transformation in the course of two yearsBarring any injuries and other unforeseen circumstances, the team that India will face this summer will be better than the one we faced two years ago.
2013 was a bone dry summer and England beat Australia 3-0.No touring team in England has had it as easy as Pakistan in 2016. Drawing 2-2 > Losing 3-1. But continue with the self-hatred.Some would argue that India faced an in-crisis England in 2014, beaten and bruised by Australia and Sri Lanka, but they played on a green-top at Lord's and still won, thanks to a terrific innings by Rahane. Yes England have made a dramatic transformation in the course of two yearsThey went from losing 4-0 in their main winter tour of 2016 to losing 4-0 in their main winter tour of 2017.
2013 was a bone dry summer and England beat Australia 3-0.
The Dukes ball consistently swings. It swung in the 1st innings at Edgbaston where we scored 400. At The Oval where we won, we played on the most pacy and bouncy pitch of the series according to Sky (maybe they're on PCB payroll).
Drawing 2-2 > Losing 3-1. But continue with the self-hatred.
Younis fell a victim to age, in his prime he played a lot of good innings in swinging conditions.

Only Anderson might be some kind of a threat but he is turning 36 and on his last legs. But we need to play first class games and acclimatise. Shastri and Kohli taking it lightly won't help.
Apart from Auckland 2001, Younis has never played a big knock against quality swing and seam. He has held his own against bounce from time to time - Melbourne 2004, Old Trafford 2006, Oval 2016, Sydney 2017 etc., but lateral movement has always been his bane - he has been a fisherman throughout his career.
You simply don't average 50+ in England without being respectable against swing bowling. Just ask Kohli.
Khan was definitely better against the spinners (one of the best ever) than he was against pace but he certainly did not have any weaknesses against the moving ball.
This same Mamoon had earlier bowed before Kohli because he took advantage of an Asian style wicket and helped himself to a hundred. But but but, that was a vicious pitch and Kohli played a fantastic innings. Lol, gimme a break.
Rohit and Dhawan(unless Rahul/Vijay gets injured) should be kept away from the first XI.Rest all is fine IMO. Saha should be back till then. Everything else will depend on pitch and conditions.
Just because it was not a traditional South African wicket does not mean it was Asian. If it was proper Asian, India would have scored 400 and Ashwin would have taken many wickets. It was a phenomenal innings by a legendary batsman.

India need to arrive quite a bit early to stand any chance. You can't just show up and win. In 2016 we arrived I think three weeks before the series and it worked out well for us. This time we came about a month before the series.
