Since Pulwana attack PM Khan has done and said the right things and has been reasonably successful aswell to his credit.

He wants to give Peace a chance it's great and is the right way forward.

But Today he has made a blunder which has weakened Pakistan's stance on Kashmir. Pakistan's Military Establishment is not going to like it at all.

While addressing Joint Session of Parliament Imran Khan confessed that while he was on a visit to India 20 years ago Imran Khan met Kashmiri leadership and vast majority of Kashmiri Leadership did not want independence from India and wanted to stay with India.

He said that things have changed in last 20 years.

This may or may not be True but State of Pakistan has held the stance for 71 years that Indian Occupied Kashmiris want Independence from India and vast majority of them want to join Pakistan.

This vindicates State of India's stance of first 5 decades and it is not doing to go well with Kashmiris who want Independence from India.

He's played a blinder, if India does anything crazy now they will be seen as muppets by everyone.

I don't even know what you are trying to say.

This is a masterstroke by Imran. 20 years ago no kashmiri leaders wanted to seperate from India, today every leader and civilian is shouting for freedom from India. Thus India needs to look inwards. Wah :14:

I have heard his Speech now and he has said nothing wrong there as far as I understood it. He was talking about their leaders and today you hear their leaders not blaming Pakistan.

1) Its not true that resistance leaders didnt want freedom.

2) Imran was probably talking about government leaders who were unconditionally supporting India few decades ago but today even they are asking for concessions to the point of autonomy (Farooq Abdullah is an example).

Having said that, he should be careful with his choice of words. Wait for Indian media to misinterpret it.

In other words, Pakistan has never been involved in Kashmir. India's own high-handedness and aggressive tactics in Kashmir have changed the Kashmiri mind-set towards either (a) being pro-Pakistani or (b) pro-Independence.

I think he said nothing wrong.

What he basically said is that most of the Kashmiri leaders who are called separatists today were not really separatists 20 years ago but more just fighting for people's rights. They were fighting for Kashmiri rights but never openly demanded independence from India. All those leaders are today openly demanding independence and India calls them separatists.

IK has no understanding of such things. He is making a big mistake by letting their pilot go in exchange for nothing in return. Makes him look so incredibly weak and scare of India, yes it does.

It’s not like the pilot is of any value. Imran Khan in a very short period of time has proven to India that Pakistan is in no way obsessed with it like they claim to be. Pakistan under Imran Khan has moved on and is looking after itself first and letting Abhinandan rot in our jails is pointless. India knows it got caught with its pants down and they can save face whichever way they like. We clearly don’t give a flying hell.

Imran khan has played it clever by the time India realised what hit them will be too late. Releasing videos of the pilot, him saying he is being treated well, and now the release of the pilot are all part of the plan where as on the other hand India had portrayed them selves as war mongers. We have killed many soliders in the last couple of days but we have not been chest thumping and India have not been saying anything to save their face and to make the public think they are on the winning side.

He just validated India's rhetoric that the beginning of terrorism in the 90s has affected Indian Kashmir. There are ex PMs and ISI chiefs on record saying they started the proxy wars in Kashmir. There were non state Pakistani actors like Azhar who were caught in India.

Imran will deal with the Kashmir situation perfectly fine. I am confident that if he pleas for Srinagar to join Pakistan, the Kashmiris in the valley will accept.

He’s handled this very well. The dude is an Oxford graduate, not the Oxford degree purchased for a few thousands at atjax or whatever it was called.

Modi has been brutally played this time. Nawaz would’ve bent over backwards by now.

Very easy to be all bravado living in the UK.....if things escalate millions could die but why should common sense prevail as IK needs to keep keyboard warriors happy!

Lady I am in Pak at the moment so I will get get hurt as well. No one is talking or war rather perspective is what I am on about. Many other Pakistanis here in Faisalabad agree with me. It is people like you who are the problem thinking there will ever be peace with India. Firing is continuing at the LOC despite your peace gesture.

LOC firing is very strong as well.
Not the the average Loc violation

Well I suppose also having idiots on the Pakistani side of the border evens it out slightly.

I think IK did make a political blunder as Indian army have started shelling after the release of Com. Abhi. Yikes, not looking good for IK now.

He should have worded it better but he was talking about the elected representatives, many of who had accepted Indian rule and given up on the freedom struggle.

But I agree to an extent. He should have been hammering home the Pakistani narrative loud and clear, no need for anything that can even imply something different.
