But some meat every now and then is also good.

Lol for the past five years he has been droning about his diet and fitness regiment and how lean chicken and fish has been central to that

First rule of being vegetarian or vegan is to make sure you tell people you are one at every opportunity.

By not eating meat, he is indirectly contributing to climate change. [More Livestock = More Methane].

Vegan is some next crazy level of Vegetarian, a right-wing fascist version!

Veganism is fine until they start imposing it on you. We had an incident, I think it was in Christchurch, where some vegans walked into the main supermarket/grocery store and blocked people from entering the meat and dairy sections. People were really mad. These incidents are happenning quite a lot in UK, Australia and America as well. It's annoying now.

I think this applies to any ideology. You will find hardcore right wingers who take their ideology to another extreme. But yes, these days this lefty liberal tree hugging nonsense is rammed down our throats, be it via the media, or stunts like in the OP.

It happened in toronto (google: Antler Restaurant Toronto). These Vegan goons were protesting in front of that restaurant because it was the only one serving Venison. The guy had meat hanging in front of the store and he used to cut it too there. The protest kept on going for weeks and finally it died down when the restaurant owner received massive support. The restaurant owner even mentioned that he serves meat, so what is the harm in that, there are butcher shops all around us. Left wing extremism is on the rise these days.

True, people have a right to their beliefs (unless they are dangerous to society). It becomes a problem when you impose beliefs on people, whether it is religion, culture, diet, political.

Examples of bad beliefs which shouldn't be allowed are when some groups spread violence (white suprmecy, ISIS etc, Christian terrorism, Hindu extremism) or when it's a dumb belief like flat earth society (although I and many people enjoy them) or bad for health (anti-vaccination).

Don't understand how people who grow up eating meat can suddenly give it up during later stages of life. It's just way too delicious and addictive. I'd rather give up cricket than meat.

Anyone here is open to trying. Give up meat for just a week, see what happens.

For the record, I am not a vegetarian though eat meat very sparingly as of the last few years, after eating it 3 times a day for 20+ years of my life.

Kohli is a super sportsman so his recommendation to go vegetarian means a lot.

It's not possible for everyone to become a complete vegetarian however there is no harm in reducing the meat consumption as it will be healthier for the body and good for the environment.

If I have access to south Indian cooking, I would go without meat for a month.

What lol really? I never understood how Vegan was healthy diet.. and I’m aVegetarian myself..

I am trying to :yk3 I thought if you just eat daal and vegetables you ought to be healthier right and live longer, less chemicals no ?

Since I've been and continue to be a life long vegetarian - and that is the only lifestyle I know - I do not know if it makes ones life better as I have no other lifestyle to compare it with.

But I've been noticing a recent trend of high profile athletes turning vegan/vegetarian.

Turned vegetarian a few years back - tough giving up meat, but never felt more energetic. Lot of sportsmen are turning vegetarian/vegan, nothing new about what Kohli did.

Imran Khan was and is perhaps the fittest player in our countries cricketing history, he can still give some members of the present team a run for their money at the age of 67 when it comes to fitness, but he still lives life to the fullest by eating Karhai's, Kabab's, Tikkas, Daal, Haleem, Halwa Poori, Fruits, Sodas but he excercises like mad and is still super fit. Maybe he is blessed with extra ordinary genes.

But no need to go vegan for everyone. Vegetarian food has to be cooked very well in order to be consumed.

Michael Phelps is the true definition of a supersportsman and this is what he eats, unless somebody plans to take protein supplements then going vegetarian isn't the best idea.

No , the biggest issue is B12.. eggs(I don’t take either) , ofcourse you can survive easily but considering your body isn’t used to it , I would advice to absolutely have one to one replacement, it took me 3 years to get that, and have been vegetarian 10 years now, never gonnna go vegan though coz paneeer :P

Imo the best is pescatarianism, but i never liked sea food

Lol at protein supplements, thats not an issue in veggie diet at all.. its the vitamins and atheletes can easily get lean proteins(made to their taste) with so many vegetarian options..

It depends person to person

I heard that Virat has low metabolism rate, and he was chubby during his early part of career۔ Can’t compare him with Imran Khan.

Its very tough to follow these diets for more than 2 weeks especially if one has been raised on Pakistani food all their lives. After a while your body really starts craving it. Besides some fitness trainers with excellent physiques eat only Pakistani food and nothing else. Eating clean is a myth, its more about portion control.

Vegans appear malnourished to me. I am sure Kohli has a chicken or fish sandwich now and again when they wife is not watching!:sarf2
