I used to watch Sahara news ages ago like 10-12 years ago and Maninder Singh, Kirti Azad and Ashok malhotra used to come and every time India lost they used to be so vicious they made Shoaib and Yousuf look like angels..

Kambli and others just can’t reach that level and Kambli is more of a cry baby than a vicious attacker.. Need more bitter ex cricketers on our TV shows for some spice..

It is the right decision to not include Fawad and a blessing in disguise for Faadi himself. I didn't follow the last few seasons keenly but as far as I remember Usman Salahuddin used to score more on seamers friendly pitches of North Punjab while Fawad on spin iwkcets of Karachi. Similarly Saad scored heavily this season where the pitches overall were extreme seamers friendly. Both are included over Faadi rightly. And Hussain Talat should have been included over Imam, not Fawad.

Rahi baat Fawad ki selection ki to he should have been included in SL test series in Uae as he is v.good again spin in tests. But not so much against pace. Simpe si baat hai samjh he nai aa rahi.

It's really shamefull what they are doing. They are doing programs on him daily,making him out as if he's the second coming on don bradman. You can tell that they actually want us to fail and lol they think Mickey is out to destroy our cricket. Shamefull people they are.

It's better for Fawad Legacy to remain intact by not playing anymore International games, otherwise he would be exposed big time...

I am sure Captain was asked about Fawad and he left it for selectors (Read didn’t ask for inclusion), otherwise they picked 8 batsmen & Ul Haq’s nephew - easily could have dropped Saad or Usman & a certain segment of PAK media would have flooded with praise for the Justice (of Fawad) - so, no issues there.

I have seen batsmen very good against pace, but not so against seem - best example Gooch & Lamb (not saying GG was poor against swing but he was among very best against raw, hostile pace while Alderman almost could call his number in 1st spell). Boycott was almost unreal against swing, could have left balls that literally kissed bails, but they hurt him with bounce. Pujara is a fantastic front foot player and he can leave balls on bounce, almost nothing on back foot ..... bottom line is, for a batsman to be picked for a particular series, one has to find something in him that he can back to be successful ......... even Umar Amin has timing & placement.

This guy Fawad is a poor timer, with very little power, his placement is nothing special; very little on back foot (nothing to be honest - never can recall one back foot drive with vertical bat; squire cutting a wide long hop doesn’t endorse back foot play), poor against seem, horrible against short ball and his movements in crease doesn’t give confidence against swing - how can a guy with baseball and French cricket stance can judge his off stick against swing when his movement is one metre+ wider in batting stride? He has a complete chest on stance which might be effective against spin, but against moving ball it’ll cramp him to hell.

Based on these, why should PAK Captain ask for inclusion of a 32+ batsman? Fawad can complain for not playing 2 Tests in UAE, but over the last 7/8 years he hasn’t changed anything in his game, that can advocate for a non Asian Test recall. Poms will put 3 pacers + Stokes & Woakes; and here posters are asking for Fawad!!!!!!!!

Exactly. To my knowledge, Sarfraz rates Saad Ali highly. As a few years ago during a draft for a domestic competition, Sarfraz was overheard on TV asking the organiser to reserve Saad Ali for his team before even the team picks.

So what if he didn't ask for Fawad? The batsmen selected were chosen on merit and potential to improve further. Fawad is rubbish versus pace.

Everyone is talking against Fawad Alam here in this forum, very strange for me as without giving Fawad Alam a proper chance by selectors, people talking his technique..I know everything of Fawad Alam batting technique..he is poor starter when he settles in the crease he can rotate strike at his will which very essential to built an inning..then he can play big shorts also to score quickly..see his statistics of domestic and international before giving any sweeping remarks against him..he therefore enables to score heavily in the domestic since last one decade..
