This is loads of toss and you know it. From where did you manage to find this info that UP & Biharis are consistently bringing down Indian living standards? Which standard is that and what have they done?

Also, can you pls share some example where a UP person had tried to shove their culture on everyone?

You make it sound as though you are doing favors by respecting religious beliefs of others ?

I don't know if it's a favour but it's certainly an effort biting my tongue sometimes. Most of my family is piously celebrating the hundredth anniversary of that wooly haired baba fellow of Puttaparthi. I've completely muted the family WhatsApp groups and am studiously avoiding peeping to not get tempted to say something irreverent and upset someone.

As @DeadlyVenom says, everything from Scientology to Buddhism seems absurd to atheists. Most of us, however, are perfectly willing to respect the harmless beliefs that don't impact others too much. Minor impact like not being able to eat beef or buy alcohol on certain days is okay.

Where I personally and I'm guessing a bunch of others draw the line is when the beliefs start overflowing and causing harm. If you're looking to ban books like Satanic Verses, teach intelligent design etc., you can't expect respect for those religious beliefs.

It is not a competition, both countries has idiots in majority.

There are beef shops in Hyderabad. You make it sound like Muslims cannot live without beef. Cows are considered as holy in India and depending on demographics, state laws can be passed to ban beef to not hurt religious sentiments.

Heck, in various states, Hindu religious rallies are avoided in front of mosques by the local police. For a proper functional system, I don't see anything wrong. Government banned meat consumption of various other animals too like Deer, peacock etc. No question about that but only beef comes into the picture?
