It is not about deflecting criticism. The simple question is have we progressed as a limited over team since Azhar Ali was captain or not? I think we have, but it is not as big as we were made out to be before the tournament started. We started off with the favorites tag... and having tied down the opposition for 240 you would think you had one leg in the final. Alas the pressure of chasing came down on us, the 240 became a 300 for us... like it has always been.. We are still weak chasers in 2018
Not sure what you're trying to get at. If we have been better without Azhar, that doesn't mean it is because of Sarfraz. It has not. It's other players who have done well.
There's this odd correlation with captaincy and success.
This is a fallacy.
Good teams win matches, captaincy is overrated.

Wrong.
On two counts.
240 to 250 is a winning total in UAE 75 percent of the time.
They got 240 after being 12/3 which shows more about the captain than anyone else.
Both those things put Bangladesh in the driving seat.
Had it been 270 target, it would be 100 percent win for Bangladesh.
It could be a fallacy, I have yet to see a team succeed that has 11 captains playing for them. Recipe for disaster. Seen that in the 90s. 1996 world cup was a prime example for us.
