"I feel I am ready for international cricket if my country needs me" : Umer Khan

So highly thought of by some pretty big names clearly, but he doesn't even seem close to the conversations for a 35-man squad.

He is nowhere near good enough as bowler to justify a place in the team. He’s competing with the likes of Gohar and Imad Wasim who are both considerably ahead in terms of bowling alone, let alone when you factor in their batting.

Laughable that some posters were suggesting he should replace Imad in our T20s team who is our best bowler in that format.

Imad is no way a better bowler, he gets some success against lesser teams, but in the big games against the big players he usually gets clobbered. They just slog him as if he's going to ball arm balls and most of the time they are right.

Gohar has also been a disappointment despite all the hype, but at least he's a proper spinner.

Nothing against Imad, he is a useful allrounder, but we do need a proper spinner in the squad.

Have you watched Imad bowl over the past couple of years? He is one of the most economical bowlers in the world despite often bowling in the powerplays. He has been our highest ranked T20s bowler for a significant period of time.

It’s true that he’s not a ‘spinner’ in the traditional sense of the word but he’s one of the first names on the team sheet even if we look at his bowling alone.

21 average less than 7 in t20s is pretty good going.as for gohar he should be first choice for test matches

Got slapped around in the National T20. No matter how highly rated you might be, you have to put the performances in.

typical performance started with a bang and now hes nowere to be seen in psl

He's only 21, so he has time on his side. Last season he did go for a lot of runs and with Imad Wasim ahead of him in the pecking order, he would have found it difficult to get selection.

i think his first season actually ruined him as he set the standard for himself and sadly couldnt maintain it

From PCB Report:

Left-arm-spinner Umer Khan (player-of-the-match) took five wickets as Southern Punjab recorded a much-needed eight-wicket victory over Balochistan in the seventh-round match of the Pakistan Cup.

Umar ran through the Balochistan top-order as he finished with hugely impressive figures of 9.2-1-42-5. This was the first five-wicket haul of the 21-year-old’s List A career.

Good to see Umer playing regularly in the Pakistan Cup and taking 5 wickets today.

He has a point to prove to the PSL franchises.
