Atta boy, Vicki!

Always believe in backing your team... I think this was precious experience and we should only get stronger from here. It was great for coach and captain to figure out last minute tuning and deficiencies and I think we will be in good shape.

Let’s back our Men in Green! Go Pakistan!

Pak is looking on good shape battingwise. All batsmen and even Sarfraz is contributing well. Bowlingwise they need to have full strength bowling which includes Amir Shadab Shaneen Husnain and Hasan Ali. I think with Shadab in team Imad would not be required. Fielding will also improveespecially Asif Ali and Harris Sohoal.

There’s a reason why Waqar is the worst coach to have ever worked with Pakistan

Indeed. It's very easy to fall for that British accent, the calm demeanor in public and social media, this is the same guy who publically threw his team under the bus as coach after a loss in the 2016 T20 WC where he demoralized the team and aggressively kept saying the team did not deserve to qualify for the semi finals even thought they had a solid chance to do so. No wonder the pcb showed him the door immediately

Excellent from Waqar - he may have reservations in private but good to back the side.

You dont put the team down publicly - they are getting enough backchat.

Pakistan are scoring 300+ regularly against a good bowling attack but our bowling needs work.

This is the team we have and its not going to be changed.

Live with it. Support the side.

You seem to have some problems with Waqar and they show up in every other post. The topic is the World Cup and he is asking for people to support the side.

And there is a reason you are bigger expert,. As MIG stated like all of us Waqar has his reservations but is showing support for the team and giving them confidence, which many posters could also do rather than spewing their doom and gloom agenda in every thread.

Amir is still living off that 2010 series in England, played on one of the most Greenest English Summers

Totally agree. There are a lot of positives for Pakistan. So happy to see our intent when batting. People can write us off if they want to.

In my opinion Australia, India, West indies and Pakistan will be the top 4.

At the moment the challenge is to win a match.

Not every team is going to be England while for Aus series our regular players were rested. If team can keep the morale high we can see some good performances in the WC.

Well said by Waqar, everyone needs to support the team throughout the WC.

And the 2009 t20 world cup and 2017 champions trophy Basically all the tourneys weve won in recent years

First time Ive agreed with Waqar in a long time

The team has largely played well and I think the 3 big scorest hey had would have been enough to beat everyone else but England. Theres been some good pace and some decent spin on show too. Lets hsow these guys confidence andn ot make them second guess themselves.

Amir has become a better player by not playing. That is always a dangerous and foolish basis fir selecting teams. There are 3 seamers that should be ahead of him - Raees, Shinwari & Wahab.

WY has done exactly what a former great should do - boost moral of the team. Criticism or questioning ability won’t help the team any more.

340 indeed is a very good total and should win most games, England batted exceptionally but are you sure PAK can score 340 against some other teams’ attack?

PAK vs IND final in 2017.

That's what Atherton remembers and rightly so. Amir was brilliant on the biggest stage.

Lol how times have changed. We produced bowlers who were bowling 5-6 wicket hauls defending totals of 150-160 and here we have a bowler who is living off a 3 wicket spell after his team had batted first in a final and posted 350 plus runs on the board.

Let there be no doubt that we’re all backing the side otherwise we wouldn’t be on here. However, there’s always room for feedback.

We may be hitting 300 but the fact is we’ve been white washed yet again. We also have to consider there’s plenty of teams apart from England who have the potential to out bat us including Australia, India, NZ even West Indies etc.

How many times did PAK defend 350+ against England this series?

Zero.

I understand that we should support the team but they are definitely not ready for the worldcup,no way.
But still we have little choice but to support them because the heart wouldnt have it otherwise.

I am backing Pakistan.

People will never be happy. The biggest thing I saw this series is we showed guts. Yes we made technical mistakes but we still showed guts.

On these pitches, in these conditions, why not?

Which team has a pace bowler who takes as many middle over wickets as Liam Plunkett? (answer is Hasan Ali from Pakistan).

Who has a better ODI leg spinner than England? (answer, no one)

Yes there are bowlers like Rabada, Boult and Starc around but Pakistan has shown they can bat well enough to at least get 300, which is not as easily chased even in this day and age as England have shown us.

.... and just how do you show guts ??? Say that “ We have lost before ..... and we are used to losing “ ????
Great !!!!!

Eh 2010?

Who won you 2017 Champions Trophy? :)))

Such a blind hater.

In case you didn't notice - ODI cricket has evolved too and these days scores of over 300 are quite common. This is because modern players with T20 exposure play aggressive and innovative shots compared to era you are quoting.

By all means throw players under the bus but at least present and objective argument to support your theories.

For me this series has been the best preparation for our team and upcoming world cup will demonstrate that - God Willing.

Quite encouraging situation then - WC will be played on similar pitches in these conditions, which makes PAK 2nd favourites after ENG; a Final appearance at least should be expected. This ODI series must have been an eye opener for other participants indeed.
