"I have learnt a lot from Mushtaq Ahmed as he has worked with me on my bowling" : Yasir Shah

Yasir Shah speaking on TV:

"I have learnt a lot from Mushtaq Ahmed as he has worked a lot on my bowling, especially on making my action repeatable"

"When he was around, he would motivate me a lot with the captain's input whenever I wasnt bowling well"

"He used to advise the captain about what field placements were needed for me"

"I really missed him and even though I took wickets in the WI series, my bowling is not the same as it was before"

"I told Mickey Arthur that I needed a few sessions with Mushtaq as I wasn't bowling well but due to the situation where we had to leave for NZ soon, we couldnt arrange that"

"We got a little excited during the football game but really wasnt much else in that with Wahab Riaz"

"I always laugh when in a fight to cool down the other person's anger"

"When Mushtaq Ahmed was with me in my initial days, I was bowling googlies well and also got some wickets; I got a few in Bangladesh and also against England in the UAE using googlies"

"I am now in Lahore and working with Mushtaq Ahmed to improve my googly and to be able to bowl it like before"

"When you go to a country like Australia, you know that there wont be that much assistance for spinners"

"If I had some side matches and practice matches, that would have helped me work out how to bowl in such conditions"

"I used to feel very sad when I saw that our team was losing matches due to bowling in PSL2016"

"So I used to feel guilty that due to my mistake, Lahore Qalandars had to undergo such losses"

Have always maintained that he solely performed because of Mushtaq's presence and that's what hit us in the Oceania tour. Glad to see him admitting and realising the importance of Mushtaq. Pakistan will take the wickets any way they come. Doesn't matter if Yasir depends on Mushy being there.

A bit over the top. Can't blame everything on lack a coach. Would be nice to acknowledge personal responsibility as well

He can't have Mushtaq Ahmed all his life, the guy needs to use his brain too

He's on the wrong side of 30s and still have no clue of bowling. Is he saying he needs a babysitter to bowl well?

Anyways, there's very limited skill set but it can be useful in Asia in Tests.

Well if you read Aamir Sohail's blog, he made the point that Yasir should have been well trained by now.

Seems that Yasir needs a lot of guidance and that being the case, Mushtaq should have accompanied the team as well.

How is that even possible? At the end of the day, he's an International bowler and played enough cricket. Mushtaq doesn't turn his arm over for him or comes to the ground for assistance.

Wouldn't Mushtaq Ahmed be an expensive resource? Considering PCB extended Saqlain's contract on a weekly basis and also negotiated hard on his pay in midst of a contract (as per Saqlain's statements), I'd assume they would hold back from keeping a personal coach for another spin bowler due to the expenses.
