But his team lost.![]()
Yes not through his innings though. On another day it would have been a match winning knock.

Needs to kick on and make some further big scores in this tournament.

It was a great knock, would have resulted in a win if even one of the other 'batsmen' in the Punjab top-order could have played decently.![]()

Umar Amin as Mamoon mentioned is very unlike Pakistani batsmen. He has got a wide range of stokeplay which is better than all national team batsmen apart from Babar. However, unlike Babar he has also got power shots in his arsenal as well. Pak management has made numerous mistakes post 2003 which has led to downfall of Pakistan cricket in general, Umar Amin is one of these.
He was touted as a better player than Azhar Ali when they both debuted but was dropped soon after his first series as Pak management were more happy for short term fixes rather than a long term goal.
Nevertheless, I have always believe in terms of batting ability he is one of the best Pakistan has got and with proper mentor-ship and better management Pakistan cricket can extract a lot of success from his career. I just pray and hope that under Mickey Arthur Pakistan cricket can establish a strong management system where talent like these do not go to waste in future.
While it was a very good knock, especially once he crossed 30 and while i am a big fan of his talent, i am afraid not much has changed in terms of his defeciencies against the moving ball. He kept playing lose strokes away from the body with minimal foot movement and was even lucky a few times against average domestic standard bowling. Im afraid unless he improves his game to the moving ball outside offstump we will see a repeat of what happened earlier
Agreed, but where is he going to improve - playing Faisal Bank T20 or Patrons Cup? Only way & I repeat only way he can fulfill potential if he is picked in the squad & work with Arthur/Flower. If Arthur wasn't there, by now Babar would have been half way towards his cousin......
Well, i guess its never that straightforward. There have been countless examples of Pakistani cricketers who have been around the team and not improved technically (shahzad, akmals, nasir jamshed, faisal iqbal, etc etc etc). Also, Amin has had access to A tours, national academy and the national team so im inclined to think if his technical flaws were fixable or that he was willing to xhange them it would have been happened by now. Again, think hes wonderfully talented and by all means deserves selection if he piles up the runs , but i will have serioua teservations even if he makes a comeback against international standard bowling.
