Infuriating to see stroke play of this level and not have any faith in him to replicate it at international level
 
Makes you annoyed to see hacks like Fakhar Zaman in the team when this guy has so much more genuine batting talent.

He was not given a consistent chance under Misbah. Misbah has destroyed quite a lot of young batting talent. I mean he always had the luxury of Baber, Haris, Amin and Umar but he always was safe with players like Asad,Azhar and Hafeez.

he got a good run of games in 2013, should have grabbed them with both hands.

Fakhar scored a pile of runs before teams got a good look at him, now that his strengths and weaknesses are better known, he is looking like a player with no answers.
 
Lol at people comparing fakhar and Amin. Amin did not perform 5 % of what fakhar has done. Even if fakhar is exposed, it's better than Amin who was exposed before even performing. Fakhar already has one of the best knocks ever by a Pakistani opener in test cricket.

He has been batting well for some time now. Did well for Pak in T20's and also batted well in the PSL.

No place at the moment in the Pak side though unless they drop Azhar and Hafeez, Malik retire in ODi;s.
 
He is the answer to our lack of boundary hitting but technically correct middle or top order batsmen in the team.

We have either accumulators or tulley baaz at the moment.
 
This guy has been consistently performing for past couple of seasons now. He should get a chance in international circuit after Malik, Hafeez and Sarfraz retirements after WC.

He should also get a go in test side as off late our test team with usual suspects have been nothing short of pathetic
 
He has been digressing every season similarly like Umar Akmal, Shahzad etc. Pak management doesn't know how to nurture batting talent. If Amin was Indian he would be playing test cricket regularly.

I feel the same can’t nurture batting talents instead they get :sm:azhar2:rizwan replacing them

Unfortunately, selectors don;t watch these non-PSL matches and won;t appreciate the quality of the inning he played, they just look at the score and this was not a hundred.

deserves to be in the team ahead of Umar Akmal, Ahmad Shazad, Shoaib Maqsood and the rubbish co... shld be part of the T20z and ODIz .... maybe after some first class matches, can b in the test team as well.. always liked him
 
Agree Umar Amin should be playing for Pakistan again, in ODI and if performs well in test too.
 
Needs to perform in this T20 cup. Should be a given a chance to replace Malik/Hafeez.
 
Some players how much they perform will be dropped soon after a bad game, for some like shehzad and UA keep getting chances after no. Of failures.
 
Misbah should keep an eye on him. We know Misbah will not give youngsters a chance but Umar Amin is not youngster.
 
I reckon Umar Amin is a solid no.3 or 4 in t20s. I reckon he should replace either hafeez or malik now, can’t waste time with those jokers.
 
Still remember how manipulative and clever Misbah treated him in CT13 when he was made our A team captain. Selfish Misbah was captain for 5 years and couldn't groom one guy in the team.
 
Solid player for ODIs and Tests.

Could have helped Zalmi in T20s too.
 
I understand that is a mental midget and all, but he really should've been given a decent run in LOs after CT 17.
 
His only real hope is to absolutely crush it in the domestic season and top the batting charts. I may be mistaken but I dont think he has ever had a monster domestic season that would force the selectors to take notice. He seems to have some very good innings but then a bunch of average ones. In the absence of that, I don't see him making a comeback to the team anytime soon.
 
Northern were well-served by Umar Amin in their second innings as the seasoned left-hander posted his 23rd first-class century. Umar hit 12 fours in his gritty 196-ball effort, Mubasir Khan who fell four short of a century in the first innings made another healthy contribution for his side scoring 52 with the help of seven fours.
